This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

Your situation contains a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This may involve a person who takes too many foolish chances with money, who is wasteful with resources, who often shows addictive behavior, or who is physically ill.

He (or she) may be powerful in your career, business, or financial structures. He may also be "keeping you dependent" for some reason. The attitudes featured here may be dishonesty, shady dealings, "anything for a buck," wastefulness, impracticality, fraudulent ideas and dealings, materialism, workaholism, a lack of scruples, materialism, and an overwhelming concern with status.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not feel there is much you can do to improve the situation -- but at least you are aware this energy exists, that it is a problem, and that you have to compensate for or correct it somehow.

Alternatively: You may need to look carefully at some ideas and practices you have adopted that affect your economic situation, business prospects, financial management, or the way you acquire and use physical resources -- including your own time and energy. Something here needs to be rethought, reworked, or redirected so as to not grossly mismanage your own opportunities and resources.

If you resonate to this interpretation more than to the presence of a difficult person in your life now, consider that this is the meaning the card is offering for you to hear and heed.

In addition, you have come through conditions in which too much emphasis on materialism corrupted your ability to enjoy life. You are now able to see how you yourself... or someone significant in your situation ... placed too much stock in money, status, position, and other temporal trappings, possibly to the point of abusing himself (or herself!!) or others in his drive to succeed.

The belief that this kind of "success" would make him happy will has proved false -- and yet it paved the way for a new level of spiritual awareness and enlightenment to emerge. The energy of this card indicates the joyful experience of regaining your soul after a time of losing it -- or worse, giving it away -- for one reason or another. Abusive attitudes, practices, and circumstances end ... and better arrangements can now prevail.

You are facing the fact you've not yet succeeded on some important project or level of experience in ways that please you. Something you may have been working on for a long time still "falls short" of your goal in ways that require you to try again to bring this arrangement to a successful completion.

However, something new exists involving money, possessions, business opportunities, or your professional directions. You are able to recognize it for the benefit it provides ... and apply those assets toward your own best interests. You have created something "real" ... and of tangible value.

You are coping with adversity, obstacles, and possibly a lack of preparation for what you have undertaken. To complicate matters, however, you are not fighting for what is right, not standing up for yourself, remaining weak and vulnerable, and bending under the considerable pressure of your circumstances. You may be dealing with a problem you thought was already "solved."

You may also be allowing yourself to be bullied or "run over." You are overwhelmed, dealing with circumstances you aren't really ready to face, and may be blind-sided before long because you are trying to "be nice," make excuses or "look the other way." You may not realize the seriousness of this situation yet ... or you may be trying to ignore the issues and just "hoping for the best." This strategy may cost you a lot in the long run ... and you may not yet realize how much.

Before long, you will meet a helpful person or adopt a very beneficial set of attitudes. This person is business-like, practical, has sound money sense and a good head on his shoulders. He may be working in a relatively new professional endeavor ... or have started a new career path recently. He is either fairly young or somewhat "new" at what he is doing.

This person is efficient, studious, down-to- earth, dependable, and hard-working. His attitudes and choices are realistic, responsible, and conservative. He may be a little too "bottom-line" to be called compassionate, but he is able to offer practical help and sensible counsel. He or his advice may be conspicuous in business, health, or lifestyle issues you are dealing with at the moment.

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development.

Long term, you will be forced to confront a serious loss or bitter disappointment, something you may have tried hard not to acknowledge. This may involve circumstances of ruin, defeat, betrayal, failure, -- even to the point of being "stabbed in the back."

This is an energy of severe trouble and misfortune -- bringing extreme unhappiness, suffering, sorrow, frustration, and anguish. It may involve irreplaceable losses, a crisis of faith, and a sense of the world collapsing around you. It may represent the complete destruction of something you have counted on and worked for -- possibly because you have been acting on bad information or trusting the wrong people.

The upshot here is likely total devastation from which the only choice is "starting over."
