This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are coping with emotional loss -- perhaps something from your past or part of your personal history that has shown up again to haunt you. This may be something you expected -- something you were able to predict, because the pain of this encounter is lessened somehow by its familiarity. This is a sad place you've walked through before -- perhaps in other guises ... but you know how this song goes -- and, worse, how it ends.

The feelings here are regret, resignation, sorrow -- but with a sense of "déjà vu". As I said ... you've been through this -- or coped with it -- before This may be a lesson you need to meet one more time -- as a way of helping you finally find the ways to get past it!! However, despite the brave front you may manage to put on ... this could hurt -- more than you realize.<

You may be reluctant to admit the seriousness of what is happening here ... or you may not know anything constructive you can do to compensate for or correct this matter. But at least you are able to deal with it openly and directly. It hasn't the power to "sneak up on your blind side" any more -- for the moment.

You have "a better idea," a new philosophical perspective, a new vision available to you. You have the chance to use greater insight and intelligence ... being "smarter" than you used to be. This may involve both new information and a new educational opportunity. You are able to get your points across, communicate well, and see your issues more clearly.

This is a time of creative visualization, new plans, powerful new uses of your own mental energy, and "knowing the right answers." You feel intellectually compatible with your directions ... and know you have finally "gotten the message."

You have a marvelous asset available in your situation. It exists in the presence of a powerful intellectual force. This may appear in the form of another person ... someone whose mind is his (or her) most compelling feature, someone who is a fighter, a survivor, who doesn't quit when the going gets tough. This influence, if it comes in another person, is charismatic, influential, authoritative, and wise. He shows great intelligence and originality in his work ... and his counsel is priceless.

He is able to generate a wide range of helpful ideas, thought, concepts and designs. His knowledge is one of his greatest virtues ... and his ability to apply that in practical ways makes him an invaluable counselor and confidante. He may be more rational than sentimental, more hard-headed than soft-hearted, but he does have an important and powerful role to play in your life ... at least temporarily.

He is fair-minded, in command of himself, and able to think his way through tough issues and arrive at workable, moral solutions. He is focused, assertive, shrewd, insightful, and genuine. He is also self-disciplined, articulate, impartial, and philosophical. He will activate some of the best of these qualities in you, and provide an example of how you can grow along these lines, too.

Keep in mind, this energy may exist as a composite of several people ... if you don't see one definite example of this wisdom among your immediate associates. This powerful influence may also be one of your own inner selves that has come to the forefront of your attention to help you ... and itself ... evolve and improve as you work through this issue.

If you don't find this clearly available in another person or people in your outer world, look within. This energy is waiting to meet you there. It is what will attract these others into your life to act as aids and allies if you need them. It can have a strong influence on your opinions, views, and choices in this matter.

You need to step back, go inward, pause, surrender to the "inevitable," and listen to the counsel of your Inner Self. You are in circumstances that require you to have faith and patience, to accept "being in limbo" for a while, and to suspend decisions and actions while you wait for a better sense of direction ... and the lifting of the fog and confusion that now envelops you. This is a time to seek inner wisdom, to reverse your usual perspectives on life, to find a way to "look at your situation differently."

Things unseen are unfolding beneath the surface of your life that will require you take another view of something you've been seeing too narrowly up til now. You need to adopt other opinions, see your world and choices differently, release what is familiar -- and let something new come into being. Keep an open mind -- and be ready to accept intuitive advice and "other possibilities" as they present themselves.

You are at a crossroads, a time of transition and waiting. Be still for now, meditate, ponder, reflect -- and consider your next move, but take your time acting in response to what will come into your life at this time. By now, the option of waiting and having patience may not be such a problem for you as it was in the beginning. You may realize the wisdom of this "strategy of inertia.' You are consciously willing to "wait and see what happens next."

You are coping with someone who has a very impaired sense of self-discipline and a suspicious sense of morality. He may be known for running his "con games" ... both literal and emotional as a tactic for manipulating people and getting his own way. He is dishonest, shady, and out to feather his own nest. He may also be given to addictive habits and patterns. He is always looking for his own advantage ... and that may be all he's interested in.

He will compromise his conscience for gain ... and the exploitation of others. He takes advantage of people's generosity and compassion ... and manipulates them by appealing to their guilt, pity, or their own ideals and better natures. He is very troubled emotionally -- and while he may put on a good front, his personal life is chaotic and undisciplined.

He may make a big show of "helping other people" ... when he should be paying attention to -- and working on -- his own problems. He may play up his "sensitive and caring nature" ... and the fact that his feelings can be easily hurt -- as a way of gaining control over others. The fact is, he is closed, manipulative, and stingy. The sympathy and help he offers is usually bogus ... and the support he tenders will collapse if others really lean on him ... or try to rely on what he offers.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected, that have come to the fore for attention or adjustment. You may be in denial about how much of a problem this person or these attitudes represent to you. You may not feel there is anything you can do to improve the situation -- or you may not consciously understand that this energy is present yet to the extent it is.

In time, you will emerge from conditions in which too much emphasis on materialism corrupted your ability to enjoy life. You will see how you yourself... or someone significant in your situation ... placed too much stock in money, status, position, and other temporal trappings, possibly to the point of abusing himself (or herself!!) or others in his drive to succeed. The belief that this kind of "success" would make him happy will has proved false -- and yet it paved the way for a new level of spiritual awareness and enlightenment to emerge.

The energy of this card indicates the joyful experience of regaining your soul after a time of losing it -- or worse, giving it away -- for one reason or another. Abusive attitudes, practices, and circumstances end ... and better arrangements can now prevail.

Ultimately, you are moving into a situation where serious imbalances prevail, where competing interests, separation, and quarrelling are very much part of the atmosphere. The supporting energy in this arrangement is that of bad management and bad judgment, overweening pride, arrogance, and pretentiousness. There will be a lot of wasted energy to cope with, a failure to understand others (or feel understood yourself) ... and where stress, frustration, and chaos abound.

You may have arrived here by leaping without looking, pushed hard on an issue where force was not the answer, applied rash, ill-considered ideas, or failed to consider sound advice and different approaches. Now, of course, you have to cope with these problems ... and work to restore harmony as part of your evolution -- and bridge out of this mess. This is not exactly a resolution to cheer over.
