This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You have a marvelous asset available in your situation. It exists in the presence of a powerful intellectual force. This may appear in the form of another person ... someone whose mind is his (or her) most compelling feature, someone who is a fighter, a survivor, who doesn't quit when the going gets tough. This influence, if it comes in another person, is charismatic, influential, authoritative, and wise. He shows great intelligence and originality in his work ... and his counsel is priceless.

He is able to generate a wide range of helpful ideas, thought, concepts and designs. His knowledge is one of his greatest virtues ... and his ability to apply that in practical ways makes him an invaluable counselor and confidante. He may be more rational than sentimental, more hard-headed than soft-hearted, but he does have an important and powerful role to play in your life ... at least temporarily.

He is fair-minded, in command of himself, and able to think his way through tough issues and arrive at workable, moral solutions. He is focused, assertive, shrewd, insightful, and genuine. He is also self-disciplined, articulate, impartial, and philosophical. He will activate some of the best of these qualities in you, and provide an example of how you can grow along these lines, too.

Keep in mind, this energy may exist as a composite of several people ... if you don't see one definite example of this wisdom among your immediate associates. This powerful influence may also be one of your own inner selves that has come to the forefront of your attention to help you ... and itself ... evolve and improve as you work through this issue.

If you don't find this clearly available in another person or people in your outer world, look within. This energy is waiting to meet you there. It is what will attract these others into your life to act as aids and allies if you need them. It can have a strong influence on your opinions, views, and choices in this matter.

You are in a situation where a problematic personality or attitude has considerable negative influence. This involves someone living in a dream world, someone who emphasizes the fact that he (or she!) is "fragile," "sensitive," "refined," and "artistic" as a way to escape real life problems and responsibilities. This is someone who expects too much and gives too little and who doesn't know how to conduct balanced emotional relationships.

This is someone who wants to be loved without being loving, who gets his feelings hurt easily, who is manipulative, who "plays mind games," who looks for trouble and sees insults and slights where none were intended. This person is lazy, lonely, "victimized," and may have psychological and possibly addictive problems. He wastes time. He doesn't use his talent. He doesn't try anything ... because he's convinced he's fail, it won't turn out well, it's not worth the trouble, etc.

Depression may be a problem ... as may paranoia and anxiety. This person is insecure, thoughtless, and irresponsible. This may exist in the form of another person -- who triggers negative responses of a similar nature in you. Or it may turn out to be an inner part of you all along -- a personality constellation that has come to the surface for attention and adjustment.

You may not see a good way to "get rid" of this person ... or how to adequately compensate for the problems he causes, but at least you realize this situation exists and needs attention.

Alternatively: This card's energy can also indicate you need to look within yourself for new sources of pleasure and creative expression. A new level, a new round of expression, regarding your own sense of joy, artistry, and emotional satisfaction is waiting to make itself known to you. If this meaning resonates more strongly with you than the description of the person above, then consider this as the card's primary message.

You are in a situation where you are determined to play by your own rules, rebel against the status quo, and do your own thing instead of just placidly doing as you're told. You may be dealing with unconventional ideas and implementing solutions that show considerable free thinking. In this situation, your independence is paramount ... and you may go to substantial lengths to maintain it, even if this isn't the most popular thing to do. This energy has your full attention at this point ... and exerts considerable influence on your thinking and choices.

You are in circumstances that are unfair, unbalanced, unjust. Someone may have treated you unfairly. You may have arranged to be unfair to yourself in order to be fair to somebody else. Possibly you have taken advantage of a loophole that got you better arrangements than you really deserved -- or someone pulled this on you.

It may take several efforts to resolve this matter, or perhaps there simply is no way to be fair to all concerned. You understand the dimensions and ramifications of this situation. You may not be able to completely correct the imbalance that exists, but at least you are able to work with the matter directly, consciously, and out in the open.

You are in a condition of waiting, listening, indecision, and stasis. This may be a fairly tense time of ambivalence, hanging fire, or feeling you have reached an impasse. Or you may be waiting to see what happens in a situation of stalemate ... where there is no clear winner, no clear victory, and no clear path regarding how to break out of this arrangement.

You could be waiting for direction, waiting for new inspiration, looking for "a sign" about what to do next. You may also be checking your own priorities and options ... or listening to advice and counsel -- both inner and outer. You may be taking in different ideas, considering other points of view, hearing dissent and cautions -- as well as support and agreement.

You may know you need to make an important decision, but postpone action in order to examine both sides of the issue. This is a time of being quiet, pausing, being passive, keeping an open mind, considering your next move, and sorting out what you really think from all the information you are receiving.

This very well could be the reason you aren't moving forward on this issue yet, however. This strategy may actually be a tactic for "postponing the inevitable" ... and may not be working to your advantage at this point. You may not even realize how much it could be hindering you. Or you may need to be more conscious and deliberate about taking this action. You may not yet understand how important it is to employ this strategy correctly in order to resolve your issue.

Soon, however, a problematic personality or attitude will present itself. You will encounter someone negative, sarcastic, sly, critical, opinionated, argumentative, and undisciplined. This person is superficial, untrustworthy, and uncooperative ... a trouble-maker and a know-it-all.

He or she will either trigger these attitudes in you ... or you will see how you, too, are part of the problem, because these elements and responses are part of your personality you need to handle more productively. Someone may hand you "bad news" ... or you may have to respond to the fact you've been working at cross-purposes with yourself.

Ultimately, you will come to a new beginning, a new vision of what you want to accomplish -- or become, a new start buoyed on a new sense of self-confidence and new opportunities. This may involve a new sense of who you are, new ways of honoring and "being true" to yourself, new purposes, and new goals. You will embrace new energy and enthusiasm ... as you know you are going in the right direction and stepping up to a new level of personal development and achievements.
