This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. You are in circumstances where your prosperity is threatened. You may be dealing with money that has strings attached, circumstances that are unfair, where money is combined with ulterior motives, where you are not getting what you deserve, or where you are not recognized or rewarded properly for what you produce.

This energy also entails financial manipulation, coercion, unethical practices, greed, and misrepresentation. Somebody is being cheated. Whether you are the victim or the perpetrator, you will need to correct this situation ASAP.

Additionally, you are in a situation that is confused, stalled, frustrating, blocked, and which doesn't let you live up to your potential. A lack of leadership, vision, personal commitment, and no overall sense of objectives or direction hinders any further growth or progress for the moment.

You may be caught in a sequence of false starts, misdirected energy, setbacks, delays, obstacles, and helplessness. You may also be dealing with uncooperative attitudes from others ... and from life itself. You are wasting yourself on this merry-go-round ... and wasting your time, resources, and abilities. You're just not getting anywhere ... until you make some changes to whatever is causing this inertia. Consider that at least part of the problem likely is you.

You are in a situation where you were "caught unprepared" for the challenge you face. You may be feeling pressure from superior opposition or some kind of competition where you are ill-equipped to prevail. The upshot is, you are not ready to defend yourself or your position adequately. You feel threatened, "taken advantage of," and outmaneuvered.

You may be unable or unwilling to do what is needed or successfully confront your adversaries. You may choose to turn and run rather than stand your ground. You may simply lack the courage and willpower to deal with what is present. This is an energy of feeling anxious, uncomfortable, outnumbered, unpopular, powerless, friendless, and victimized. You may feel there isn't much you can do to compensate for or correct the situation, but it does have your full attention at this point -- and you realize the effect these circumstances have on your thinking and your choices.

You have a helpful person or a very beneficial set of attitudes in your situation. This person is business-like, practical, has sound money sense and a good head on his shoulders. He may be working in a relatively new professional endeavor ... or have started a new career path recently. He is either fairly young or somewhat "new" at what he is doing.

This person is efficient, studious, down-to- earth, dependable, and hard-working. His attitudes and choices are realistic, responsible, and conservative. He may be a little too "bottom-line" to be called compassionate, but he is able to offer practical help and sensible counsel. He or his advice may be conspicuous in business, health, or lifestyle issues you are dealing with at the moment.

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development. You are, however, aware of its presence ... and are able to make direct use of the benefits it brings.

You are facing circumstances where the lack of money is a problem ... and the stress of financial anxiety may be serious enough to cause physical symptoms. This condition is temporary -- but it can still cause you some tension.

You may not have a good way to compensate for this at the moment. You may be in denial about just how serious your situation is ... or how much it is affecting you, but you will soon have to confront this problem more directly. This card also suggests you are resisting some necessary lifestyle changes, and this is hampering you now more than you realize.

Soon, you will reach circumstances which are acceptably satisfying, but tinged, nevertheless, with mild regrets. You may realize "what might have been" if you had made different choices, applied different logic, acted more decisively, or used your advantages with greater skill. You may see how to do things better next time. But that will have to wait for another day.

Ultimately, you will encounter a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes.. This may involve someone who has -- or causes -- chronic financial problems, someone who is impractical, irresponsible, physically lazy, and who "uses" people ... especially to his own financial advantage.

Your situation may also contain attitudes that are unethical, calculating, financially stingy -- or financially greedy, and where "doing things the easy way" is a primary concern. Accommodating him (or her!) may be chronically costly to your career progress, your pocketbook, and your physical health.

Because energy is always a two-way street -- this may represent another person in your situation, or it may be a side of your personality you are reluctant to confront or control. You may not even want to admit it exists.

Alternatively: This card can indicate you need to do some serious work to refocus your thinking about money, business decisions, commercial transactions, and the use of time and other resources. It can mean a new way of conducting your financial life and managing your economic situation is waiting to unfold ... and you need to do the inner work -- and the groundwork -- to discover it.
