This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are in a situation where you face difficult choices over conflicting needs and elements that don't accommodate one another well. You haven't yet found a way to gain constructive cooperation ... or strike an agreeable compromise between the different factors present here. You may, in fact, be in actual and deep disagreement with someone important to the success of your venture. This unsolved dilemma may still represent quite a handicap to you.

However, you've begun to apply a set of constructive values, an ability to use good sense, a willingness to do the work necessary to create something of value involving money, possessions, business opportunities, or your professional directions. Your sense of practical achievement now has the upper hand.

You are in a situation that involves confusion, anxiety, and upset. You may not know what to do or what to think. Your direction is unclear ... and you may have no good answers for the problems that still face you. This energy is the feeling of being "locked in," trapped, unable to accomplish anything to put your troubles behind you. You need to rethink your choices ... and change some of your fundamental attitudes. You may not have information you need ... or some of your thinking may be skewed and unproductive.

You feel irritated, exasperated, unable to find meaning -- or clarity. This is the sensation of trying to swim against the current ... and needing to make major adjustments in your opinions, ideas, viewpoints, and intellectual positions. You may not see a good way out of this dilemma at the moment ... or ways to compensate for the problems it is causing you, but at least at this point you are able to work with this energy openly and directly, trying to find ways out of the complications it adds to your issue.

This matter has your full attention at the moment ... and exerts considerable influence over your thinking and choices.

You are having to cope with a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This may involve a person who takes too many foolish chances with money, who is wasteful with resources, who often shows addictive behavior, or who is physically ill.

He (or she) may be powerful in your career, business, or financial structures. He may also be "keeping you dependent" for some reason. The attitudes featured here may be dishonesty, shady dealings, "anything for a buck," wastefulness, impracticality, fraudulent ideas and dealings, materialism, workaholism, a lack of scruples, materialism, and an overwhelming concern with status.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not feel there is much you can do to improve the situation -- but at least you are aware this energy exists, that it is a problem, and that you have to compensate for or correct it somehow.

Alternatively: You may need to look carefully at some ideas and practices you have adopted that affect your economic situation, business prospects, financial management, or the way you acquire and use physical resources -- including your own time and energy. Something here needs to be rethought, reworked, or redirected so as to not grossly mismanage your own opportunities and resources.

If you resonate to this interpretation more than to the presence of a difficult person in your life now, consider that this is the meaning the card is offering for you to hear and heed.

You are in circumstances that are unfair, unbalanced, unjust. Someone may have treated you unfairly. You may have arranged to be unfair to yourself in order to be fair to somebody else. Possibly you have taken advantage of a loophole that got you better arrangements than you really deserved -- or someone pulled this on you.

It may take several efforts to resolve this matter, or perhaps there simply is no way to be fair to all concerned.

You may not know exactly what to do with this situation at the moment -- how to compensate for the problems or arrange justice in this matter. You may not yet understand the dimensions of what you're working with. You may be in denial that there is a problem. Or you may not realize how much these circumstances are going to impact the business of your life as it unfolds.

Soon, you will redefine some important goals -- perhaps having to do with your financial life or professional direction. Targets you were once aiming to reach won't suit you any more, or you will realize your direction was "off" somehow. You will no longer want what you have been working toward. You may also find you have achieved something that no longer "fits" you. It will be time to make a course correction ... perhaps a substantial one.

A "personality factor" is also coming into play ... from someone who is fussy, complaining, overly sensitive, paranoid, frustrated, and emotionally undisciplined. This person may be often over-wrought and fretful, obsessive, clinging, and demanding of sympathy and "support" from loved ones -- while offering very little in the way of compassion or even self-control in return.

Alternatively: This card suggests that you need to practice more diligent self-care, be more aware of your own need for love, compassion, and emotional support. Often it comes when life and the demands of those in your relationships have exhausted your resources to the point that you need to pull back, take time out for recuperation, and replenish yourself.

You need to become your own best friend for a while ... and restore yourself to the point that you can be that for others again. This may not happen overnight ... but the fact is, you can't give away what you don't have for yourself in the first place -- and it's time to fortify your inner self, in whatever actions are needed, so that you can become a positive source of support for yourself and those you love ... again.
