This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are in conditions of conflict, separation, misunderstanding, and quarrelling -- possibly regarding an important relationship or alliance. The energy of this card is that of "coming apart," and indicates unbalanced relationships, failure to communicate well, failure to understand your partner and his or her needs, and an overall lack of support and appreciation in either direction among you and your associates.

It can also indicate circumstances where someone in a relationship is too possessive, dishonest, too demanding, manipulative, or cold. There is a severe lack of balance and equality in what should be a much more even or independent arrangement.

It indicates arguments, disputes, distrust, unhappiness, loneliness, and "feeling distant" from those who are supposed to care for you -- and about whom you, too, ostensibly care. This is an energy of unhappiness ... and feeling both unloved and unloving. This energy is out in the open ... where you can work with it directly and try to correct it. But as an asset, it may not be offering you much help in meeting the challenges of what you are trying to cope with.

You are in a condition of waiting, listening, indecision, and stasis. This may be a fairly tense time of ambivalence, hanging fire, or feeling you have reached an impasse. Or you may be waiting to see what happens in a situation of stalemate ... where there is no clear winner, no clear victory, and no clear path regarding how to break out of this arrangement.

You could be waiting for direction, waiting for new inspiration, looking for "a sign" about what to do next. You may also be checking your own priorities and options ... or listening to advice and counsel -- both inner and outer. You may be taking in different ideas, considering other points of view, hearing dissent and cautions -- as well as support and agreement.

You may know you need to make an important decision, but postpone action in order to examine both sides of the issue. This is a time of being quiet, pausing, being passive, keeping an open mind, considering your next move, and sorting out what you really think from all the information you are receiving.

Although you may not be moving forward at the moment ... you understand that using this strategy to your own advantage, choosing your own time, and making sure you are in possession of all the proper facts, could be vital to the successful resolution of your issue.

You have circumstances that include adequate recognition and compensation for the services you perform and the work you do. It is a condition of achievement and competence ... where you receive what you have earned, including appreciation and financial payment. You are working on something that will serve you well in the future -- and acquiring the skills and assets you need to improve yourself and your circumstances.

You are able to take pride in your accomplishments and the reputation you have because of them. You are also able to apply this to your advantage in this situation ... and you know it. This is having considerable influence on your thinking and choices at the moment.

You are in circumstances where you feel unhappy, dissatisfied, "incomplete," and strained. You may also be coping with loneliness or "being in a rut" that keeps you from moving forward to another level of experience and challenge. Possibly there is a chronic problem you haven't solved yet or a situation you haven't yet brought to closure. There is a heavy energy of dissatisfaction that permeates your world ... of something that just isn't yet what you want it to be.

You may want to release something -- but are unable to. Or you may be holding onto something because it is not what you want it to be yet ... and therefore the foundation you need to move on to another level ... or another situation ... isn't in place to support new growth. Either way, this unfinished business ... and the stagnation in which it exists ... continues.

You are aware of this influence ... and able to work with it openly and directly. That may be all the good you can say about it, though.

A "personality factor" is also part of the equation now, someone fussy, complaining, overly sensitive, paranoid, frustrated, and emotionally undisciplined. This person may be often over-wrought and fretful, obsessive, clinging, and demanding of sympathy and "support" from loved ones -- while offering very little in the way of compassion or even self-control in return. This influence may still be fairly subtle, subdued, repressed, or hidden -- or you may just be less than willing to face this new wrinkle, unless absolutely forced to.

Alternatively: This card suggests that you need to practice more diligent self-care, be more aware of your own need for love, compassion, and emotional support. Often it comes when life and the demands of those in your relationships have exhausted your resources to the point that you need to pull back, take time out for recuperation, and replenish yourself.

You need to become your own best friend for a while ... and restore yourself to the point that you can be that for others again. This may not happen overnight ... but the fact is, you can't give away what you don't have for yourself in the first place -- and it's time to fortify your inner self, in whatever actions are needed, so that you can become a positive source of support for yourself and those you love ... again.

Before long, you will meet a helpful person or adopt a very beneficial set of attitudes. This person is introspective -- but may have a very upbeat and enthusiastic personality. He (or she!) is loving, sensitive, caring, artistic, cultured, and eager to please. He may be quite imaginative ... someone who values both learning and social connections. Feelings are important to him ... and happiness in his world means having the opportunity to enjoy some of life's finer and more sophisticated pleasures.

He is diplomat, a natural psychologist, a peacemaker who knows how to work with the give and take of relationships. He has a kind, gentle, sentimental, and compassionate personality. He pays attention to his intuition ... and may be fairly described as "emotional" ... easily moved by empathy and concern. He is affectionate, easy to like, though also moody and idealistic ... possibly just a little too impractical and trusting to move easily through this world.

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development. It may also represent a sudden intuitive feeling, dream or creative inspiration about something you are trying to accomplish or become -- something which offers you the encouragement you've been looking for and enables you to go forward.

Further, it can signal the beginning of a new relationship, a new emotional connection, or involvement in a new creative venture. This is a signal to listen to your feelings, fantasies, and imagination as well as the contributions of the people around you.

Ultimately, you are heading for a resolution that contains heartbreak, sorrow, abuse, setbacks, and shattered emotions. This situation may also hold a lack of appreciation, betrayal, injury, separation, grief, and terrible disappointment. While on the surface this energy represents the heart and head at odds with one another ... the reality is often extremely painful.

Far more upsetting than your thoughts telling you one thing and your heart another, this energy usually contains disbelief that you have been treated so badly by someone you care for ... and the realization that you have to get over loving and needing someone who could hurt you this way.

This energy is that of being victimized, harmed, even brutalized physically or emotionally. It may also indicate you have done this to somebody else ... but either way there are karmic liabilities being formed here -- and the eventual, inevitable backlash may be pretty severe.
