This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are in a situation of wandering, confusion, dissatisfaction, and emotional burn-out. This is an energy of disappointment, inertia, and stagnation ... where you wind up asking, "Is this all there is?" You know you want something "more" ... that this result is not the answer you're after, that you require something with deeper meaning, more engagement, more stimulation and excitement.

The result may well be "starting over," undergoing a reasonably serious identity crisis -- and maybe a time of depression as you decide to abandon what success you've achieved here ... or the relationships you've formed and commitments you've made in order to move on to something else. You may not be thrilled with this message, but at least you are able to work with this influence openly and directly.

Also, you are in circumstances where money is a problem. This experience may have cost you more than you expected, or money you were counting on may have evaporated or not arrived, or a lack of resources is playing a pivotal part in what you are coping with now. You need to be cautious and conservative concerning money, financial arrangements, investments, the use of resources and possessions, and your channels of income.

Beware of believing promises that may let you down seriously if they don't materialize. You need to control your expenses ... and know where your money is coming from as well as where it is going.

Alternatively: This card can indicate a time when you are reorganizing your spending habits, probably in response to changes in your personal values. You may be bringing your financial transactions into closer alignment with your ideas and beliefs.

Your situation contains a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This person is lazy, dishonest, a swindler, a fraud. He (or she) is irresponsible, manipulative, overly concerned with creature comforts or "taking the easy way out." He is self-indulgent, a "taker," a false friend .. and an emotional drain on those around him. Attitudes present here include insincerity, "living in a dream world," wanting others to take care of him or rescue him, and being focused only on how he can "use" people. This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You realize how much this person -- or these attitudes -- are harming your ability to launch effective action. You are at least able to deal with this matter openly and directly -- even if you feel limited in your choices about what to do with it. It has significant impact on your thinking -- as well as your full attention at the moment.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own happiness, your own creative pleasures, and your own "love of living." You could have lost sight of this for some reason ... and need to reconnect to this vital source of emotional support in your own life. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

You are in a necessary time of recovery -- recuperating from the stress of what you've been through. You will need to find the courage to start again after a time of defeat and disappointment.

Your current situation may not have worked out as you hoped. You may have invested a lot more into it than it paid you back. Or the results themselves may constitute a kind of recovery from some experience that is historically related -- but not directly visible regarding recent events -- the ones that make necessary this time of convalescence and the reclaiming of your personal and moral center. You have come through turmoil and upset serious enough to be called a crisis ... and need to move forward again by leaving a bad situation behind.

It's the bad situation that is part of your history that leaves a lingering pain and is responsible for the crisis of faith that may result when all the dust here settles. You may not feel you are able to do much about these events ... to correct or compensate for the challenges they present to you -- but at least you have a clear vision yet of just how serious, depleting, and detrimental these experiences have been for you ... and how extensive the work will be when finally you do pull things together and start over.

You are redefining some important goals -- perhaps having to do with your financial life or professional direction. Targets you were once aiming to reach don't suit you any more, or you realize your direction was "off" somehow. You no longer want what you have been working toward. You may also find you have achieved something that no longer "fits" you.

It is time to make a course correction ... perhaps a substantial one. You may not yet understand the scope of this change. You may be in denial about the need to make it. You may not yet see a way to accomplish it. Or you may not fully grasp the dynamics presently at work on this issue. In any case, you are not yet applying yourself to best effect as this process unfolds in your life.

Very soon now, you'll emerge from the fog of a substantial illusion you've been laboring under. You may have been acting on false or deceptive information. You may have believed something that will prove to be untrue, misguided, or misunderstood. You will see reality for what it is, however ... which will let you operate from a much more powerful position in the future.

Long term, a fair amount of money or professional success or both are on the way to you. You may, in fact, draw a certain level of financial experience to a close ... with considerable money to go around, and a nice feeling of accomplishment to boost your morale.
