This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are stalled in a period of "not accomplishing anything constructive," coping with incompetence -- your own or someone else's, realizing you are "unprepared" for the problems you face, and reorienting your values toward "achieving something worthwhile and profitable." This may have been quite a drain on your reserves and you are intent on solving this problem.

A problem "personality factor" is affecting your situation, someone who is financially dependent, ill, or physically helpless. She (or he) may be impractical, wasteful, status-conscious, materialistic, superficial, judgmental, and irresponsible. She may be making no use of her own abilities, not trying to care for herself physically, unable to manage her economic life, and constantly in need of support and rescue.

She may blame others for her problems, be critical, fault-finding, and hard to get along with, have a confused professional life or unrealistic ambitions, and be full of great dreams and fantasies -- but with no actual achievement to back them up.

This may be another person. This may be the response elicited from you as a result of the stress you are having to handle, or it may be one of your own inner selves coming to your attention for you to notice and adjust. It is having a significant influence on your thinking and your choices at this point.

Alternatively: This card could be suggesting that you need to step back, go inward, and consider how you are failing to nourish yourself properly, or failing to provide for and support yourself properly. You may be trying to "take care of everybody else" ... to your own detriment. It's time to reconsider the load you are trying to handle ... and what you may be getting in return for all the effort you are spending.

If you resonate to this meaning more than to the presence of a problem person ... or a difficult set of your own attitudes, it is likely this is the message the card is sending to you.

You are being forced to confront a serious loss or bitter disappointment, something you may have tried hard not to acknowledge. This may involve circumstances of ruin, defeat, betrayal, failure, -- even to the point of being "stabbed in the back."

This is an energy of severe trouble and misfortune -- bringing extreme unhappiness, suffering, sorrow, frustration, and anguish. It may involve irreplaceable losses, a crisis of faith, and a sense of the world collapsing around you. It may represent the complete destruction of something you have counted on and worked for -- possibly because you have been acting on bad information or trusting the wrong people.

The upshot here is likely total devastation from which the only choice is "starting over." You may finally realize the extent of this ... and be working with it as best you can. You may, however, feel unable to compensate for or cope with these challenges in any way that makes a difference. But at the point it does have your full attention, and you do realize effect this situation is having on you and your world.

You are in a situation where you feel overwhelmed, overextended, and stressed out. You may not be coping well physically or financially with the challenges you face. You don't have the assets or resources you need to work through this comfortably or successfully. You may be short on time, energy, stamina, strength, and money. You have too much going on and are not able to stretch the materials and means you have on hand to cover all the necessary bases.

You are spread too thin ... and even careful budgeting may not compensate for what is lacking. The need for constant adjustment weighs heavily on you. You may not see a good way to correct or compensate for what is happening here -- but at least you are able to work with the problem out in the open, consciously, and deliberately.

There is much more to this situation than meets the eye ... and you will have to trust your feelings and instincts to a great extent, rather than taking matters at face value. You may have the feeling of something important unfolding beneath the exterior surface of life that won't yet have made itself clearly known -- or taken on its final shape. You may feel off-center and anxious about this -- or you may not be sure what you can trust at this point. The confusion may be something of a liability for a while.

Soon, you will arrive at a place of joy, love, satisfaction, and delight.

Ultimately you are moving into circumstances that are balanced, stable, successful, "complete but not satisfying." This energy contains feelings of boredom, stagnation, discontent, lack of motivation, and even mild depression.

At this point, you will need to re-evaluate your situation, your priorities, potentials, relationships, needs, and desires. It will be time to look inward, see how you need to re-engage with life, break up some of your familiar but stale routines, and find a new situation where you are doing more than treading water and "going through the motions."
