This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are coping with someone who does not react well when his ideas are challenged or his opinions questioned. He (or she) is very forceful in his thinking ... but also very closed-minded and rigid. He may blame others rather than seek solutions, fail to show leadership, and fail to accept responsibility for the problems he creates with his attitudes ... and manner.

He is stern, strict, cruel, unjust, and uncaring. He may trigger these same responses in you -- or this energy may well be an inner part of you that comes to the surface to be noticed and adjusted. You may not see a good way to neutralize or compensate for the problems this person causes -- but at least the matter is out in the open where you can deal with its stresses honestly. You are very aware of the influence this is injecting into your situation.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own thinking, opinions, and the way you express your ideas. You may be acting on wrong information. Your prejudices or a serious misunderstanding of the facts could be having too much influence on your thinking. You may be pushing your opinions too hard and alienating others from considering your views objectively. You may realize you've been too one-sided in your thinking or that you haven't been listening well.

You may have decided to pull back for a while and reconsider some of your stronger views and the way you express them that could actually be either misguided ... or hurting your own cause. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

You are in a situation that places an extremely heavy emphasis on material success, money, public status, and "creating the right image." This may involve experiences of serious discontent, depression, and even illness -- as this represents an extraordinary perversion of the natural desire for safety, honor, and respect. This energy turns the need for fame, reputation, achievement, and respect into an obsession ... which will stoop to force, coercion, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse in order to accomplish its ends.

This represents action without understanding, without compassion, without accountability, and without considering the results and effects of what one has set in motion. It often involved someone's overweening ego ... and actions taken out of inordinate pride or in order to "save face" or gain importance. There is a lack of consideration, a pervasive attitude of selfishness and concern for appearances that creates a miserable existence.

Life at this point is seriously off track and out of kilter -- and a major crash in order to make a course correction in these circumstances may loom before too long. You may be either the victim or the perpetrator of these conditions ... but regardless of which side of the equation you fall on, you need to get this fixed -- for everyone's sake.

You do harm even to the one you allow to treat you this way if you let this arrangement continue. You will do untold harm to yourself if you are the one putting this deplorable situation into motion in the first place. You may not see a good way out of this mess ... or how to compensate for the problems it is causing, but at least at this point you do understand this is happening ... and that it needs to be corrected ASAP.

You have happiness, success, joy, and the blessing of supportive relationships available to you, and you are able to use this to good advantage. This positive outlook has a wonderful influence on your opinions and choices.

You are able to move to a place of balance, stability, new insights, and greater equilibrium. You have this available, and you realize it -- if only by creating calmer conditions in your imagination for the moment. Here adjustments are easily made. You have the self-control and patience you need. There are conditions of cooperation and compromise available, more flexibility, sufficient moderation, and the integration you need for peace of mind.

You may start to see greater symmetry in your life ... perhaps in the midst of paradox. You may also see possibilities and combinations others (and even you yourself) have not considered. You will find ways to synthesize and moderate conflicting requirements ... in one of the most positive uses of your own creative energy you may have seen in a long time.

You have an unused asset in your situation. You have reached a moment of ingenious inspiration, an idea that may hit you like a lightning strike, it is so powerful ... and potentially significant. You may not realize the dimensions of this gift at the moment. You may not even have a conscious grasp of it. You may not see how you can put its concepts into practice or bring its promise into reality. You are not yet applying its benefits to best advantage.

Soon, you will find yourself in a situation that leaves you unhappy, dissatisfied, let down, disappointed, and emotionally exhausted. It could, in fact, be a fairly serious time of sadness and emotional ruin -- depending on the gravity of this original situation.

Ultimately, you will meet a person who is practical, generous, business-like, able to take on and handle responsibility. She (or he) is prosperous, able to handle money and make sound economic decisions. She is thoughtful, secure, able to deal with the physical side of life. She may have her own successful career or established profession ... or be equally committed and competent at the chores she takes on, whether or not she does them for money.

She is willing to work hard, provides for the physical needs of others without being asked, knows what is needed and automatically supplies that as part of her "job." She is confident, realistic, and sensible She may be a little too involved with "getting useful results" ... or arranging "something that works, that does the job" ... and with the economic considerations of money, the use of resources, and "the bottom line." She may thus seem more hard-edged and hard-headed than soft and sympathetic, but she certainly has her valuable place in the world.

This may be another person in your situation ... or it may be an important part of your own personality that has come to the fore to help you work with this situation -- and to further its own development for use in the future.
