This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are in a situation where your inclination is to accept shallow, surface answers, where "appearances" are all that matters -- or all that you believe. This is an energy of self-deception, not listening to your feelings and intuition, acting from conceit and pride. It may be too easy to rationalize away what you really know to be true. You may not really dig for deeper answers.

You may also be dealing with people who are one-sided, closed-minded, insensitive, and concerned with keeping up an image. They may provoke some of the same responses in you -- or you may be contributing your fair share all along.

You may wind up making wrong choices, acting irrationally from deep-seated fears and phobias, unable to make decisions you can trust, and unable to see the real issues clearly. You may pull inward for self-protection ... and be loath to take any risks -- because you don't know what to believe.

This is the result of not following your own instincts, of not listening to the wisdom of your heart, of contradicting your own conscience and inner wisdom, and of not being true to yourself. It's a mighty high price to pay.

You are in a situation that contains considerable dishonesty in what you say, think, believe ... or in what you are being told. The information you are working with is unreliable ... possibly by "putting a better face" on rather unpleasant facts. This is an energy of self-sabotage, of being complicit in your own undoing, of letting yourself be talked into something when you know better -- by accepting excuses, rationalizations, and pretty cover stories. You may even be making these up and telling them to yourself. You may learn in time you have been your own worst enemy by adopting this strategy.

This card depicts reaping the consequences of past bad actions, lies -- perhaps ones you have told yourself or lulled yourself into believing, not paying close attention to what really matters, making decisions based on wishful thinking or deceitful information, weaseling, and either trying to get away with something ... or letting somebody else get away with something -- again, when you really know better than to trust what is happening here.

This is literally an energy of theft and deception. You ... or someone else ... is trying to gain something you have not earned (which could be money, possessions, position, status, regard, or "credit" for something that doesn't really belong to you), are using sweet-talk and fabrications to support your claim, or are playing head games and trying to pull a fast one. Something about the way you think about, work with, and report this situation needs to be corrected -- and fast.

You are in a time of reckoning and resolution in this matter. There will be a rebalancing of the Cosmic Scales ... and a sense of justice and equilibrium restored. There may be somehow a sense of a "fair verdict" delivered, or "judgment rendered," or some other kind of legally binding or contractual arrangement that formalizes this closure.

This is a time of being centered, truthful, diplomatic, honest, fair, and grounded. It may involve mediating some dispute ... or reaching conditions of cooperation and compromise. You may understand how this is influencing your decisions, choices, and viewpoints ... and are giving this matter the careful attention it needs.

You are in a necessary time of recovery -- recuperating from the stress of what you've been through. You will need to find the courage to start again after a time of defeat and disappointment.

Your current situation may not have worked out as you hoped. You may have invested a lot more into it than it paid you back. Or the results themselves may constitute a kind of recovery from some experience that is historically related -- but not directly visible regarding recent events -- the ones that make necessary this time of convalescence and the reclaiming of your personal and moral center. You have come through turmoil and upset serious enough to be called a crisis ... and need to move forward again by leaving a bad situation behind.

It's the bad situation that is part of your history that leaves a lingering pain and is responsible for the crisis of faith that may result when all the dust here settles. You may not feel you are able to do much about these events ... to correct or compensate for the challenges they present to you -- but at least you have a clear vision yet of just how serious, depleting, and detrimental these experiences have been for you ... and how extensive the work will be when finally you do pull things together and start over.

You are in a situation that contains heartbreak, sorrow, abuse, setbacks, and shattered emotions. This situation may also hold a lack of appreciation, betrayal, injury, separation, grief, and terrible disappointment. While on the surface this energy represents the heart and head at odds with one another ... the reality is often extremely painful.

Far more upsetting than your thoughts telling you one thing and your heart another, this energy usually contains disbelief that you have been treated so badly by someone you care for ... and the realization that you have to get over loving and needing someone who could hurt you this way.

This energy is that of being victimized, harmed, even brutalized physically or emotionally. It may also indicate you have done this to somebody else ... but either way there are karmic liabilities contained here -- and the eventual, inevitable backlash may be pretty severe. This may be part of the current day conditions ... or it may be problems held over from an old piece of abusive personal history.

You may not realize you need to watch out for abuse in this situation ... or you may not realize you need to heal from past hurts to the extent you do. Somehow, you are not dealing with this matter as directly, consciously, or openly as you need to ... either because you don't see its evidence yet, or you are in denial about how seriously it is undermining you.

Soon, however, a problematic personality or attitude will present itself. You will encounter someone negative, sarcastic, sly, critical, opinionated, argumentative, and undisciplined. This person is superficial, untrustworthy, and uncooperative ... a trouble-maker and a know-it-all.

He or she will either trigger these attitudes in you ... or you will see how you, too, are part of the problem, because these elements and responses are part of your personality you need to handle more productively. Someone may hand you "bad news" ... or you may have to respond to the fact you've been working at cross-purposes with yourself.

Long term, you will encounter a personality or a set of attitudes that can be quite positive and helpful. This person is most definitely in charge of his own happiness and his creative potentials. He (or she) is not afraid to express deep feelings ... or to display his creative, sensitive, artistic temperament.

This is a person who gives strength and radiates faith and confidence in what he feels and believes. The attitudes on display here are loyalty, commitment, a sense of "family solidarity," generosity, empathy, consideration, and dedication to the support and protection of loved ones.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that have come to the forefront to help you develop it further.
