This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are "running on empty," fretting, over-wrought, and not getting enough rest. You may need some substantial "down-time" in order to recuperate -- but you may not feel you can afford that luxury, or you may feel you have no other choice but to keep on going, whatever it takes.

You are also in a time of major change regarding this issue, a time when some elements are ending completely and better -- or at least different -- circumstances are taking their place. This is a time of deep, necessary change ... and then, of course, the inevitable regeneration and improvement. This is an asset you can use to your advantage now, if you work with it openly and honestly.

You are coping with a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This person is wasteful, careless with money, possibly too materialistic or too easily impressed with status symbols. He (or she) is without practical direction, may not show much common sense, may lack "a good head for business," and may be in constant financial distress as a result. This person may also be physically ill -- most likely from poor lifestyle choices.

This is someone who doesn't learn ... even from his own mistakes -- of which there may be plenty to choose from as examples of how not to behave. The attitudes present here are hedonistic, vain, status-conscious, contrary, extravagant, impractical, self-absorbed, and unwilling to listen to the voice of experience. This may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality you need to confront and correct.

You may not feel there is much you can do to correct or compensate for the problems this person or this part of yourself presents, but at this point you at least understand what is going on and are able to confront the matter openly and directly -- for all the good it may do. You understand the impact these elements have on your thinking and choices now.

Alternatively: You may need to step back, go inward, an reconnect with your own common sense. You may also need to rethink some matter involving your career, business life, or commercial enterprises. You may need to learn some thing you don't know at the moment ... or implement some strategies you have only begun to discover. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person -- or a counter-productive set of attitudes, consider this is the message the card intends to deliver to you now.

Either way, this energy is having considerable impact on your thinking, on the choices you make, and on the way you view the circumstances you're working with now.

You have reached a moment of ingenious inspiration, an idea that may have hit you like a lightning strike, it is so powerful ... and potentially significant. You at last realize the dimensions of this gift. You understand its inspiration and its vision.

You understand how you can put its concepts into practice and bring its promise into reality. You are finally able to work with it consciously and directly to use its assets to best advantage.

You are dealing with significantly changed circumstances ... ones that result from a long process of evolution and development. They are connected to internal changes in you, with a clear relationship between inner changes having caused outer changes ... and outer changes prompting even more inner ones. This shift in the paradigm of your life is still in progress -- although you may not be fully aware of it, or realize the extent to which this will eventually reshape the conditions in your both your outer and inner worlds.

You are heading for a situation that contains heartbreak, sorrow, abuse, setbacks, and shattered emotions. This situation may also hold a lack of appreciation, betrayal, injury, separation, grief, and terrible disappointment. While on the surface this energy represents the heart and head at odds with one another ... the reality is often extremely painful.

Far more upsetting than your thoughts telling you one thing and your heart another, this energy usually contains disbelief that you have been treated so badly by someone you care for ... and the realization that you have to get over loving and needing someone who could hurt you this way.

This energy is that of being victimized, harmed, even brutalized physically or emotionally. It may also indicate you have done this to somebody else ... but either way there are karmic liabilities being formed here -- and the eventual, inevitable backlash may be pretty severe.

A "personality factor" is also coming into play ... from someone who is fussy, complaining, overly sensitive, paranoid, frustrated, and emotionally undisciplined. This person may be often over-wrought and fretful, obsessive, clinging, and demanding of sympathy and "support" from loved ones -- while offering very little in the way of compassion or even self-control in return.

Alternatively: This card suggests that you need to practice more diligent self-care, be more aware of your own need for love, compassion, and emotional support. Often it comes when life and the demands of those in your relationships have exhausted your resources to the point that you need to pull back, take time out for recuperation, and replenish yourself.

You need to become your own best friend for a while ... and restore yourself to the point that you can be that for others again. This may not happen overnight ... but the fact is, you can't give away what you don't have for yourself in the first place -- and it's time to fortify your inner self, in whatever actions are needed, so that you can become a positive source of support for yourself and those you love ... again.
