This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

Your relationships include a personality or a set of attitudes that can be quite positive and helpful. This person is most definitely in charge of his own happiness and his creative potentials. He (or she) is not afraid to express deep feelings ... or to display his creative, sensitive, artistic temperament.

This is a person who gives strength and radiates faith and confidence in what he feels and believes. The attitudes on display here are loyalty, commitment, a sense of "family solidarity," generosity, empathy, consideration, and dedication to the support and protection of loved ones.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that have come to the forefront to help you develop it further.

You have a helpful person or a very beneficial set of attitudes in your situation. This person is intellectual, philosophical, profound, and studious. He (or she) is definitely a thinker ... perceptive, academic -- maybe kind of a bookworm.

He is interested in fairly sophisticated subjects ... like education, law, religion, theology, social problems, politics, spiritual subjects. He is either fairly young ... or may have recently started out on a new level of study and education -- either self-directed or formal. He may still need a little time to "season" in this field.

He is an independent thinker, a good communicator, someone who enjoys learning, investigation, and research. He may have a quiet, "watchful," observant personality. He may not be terribly forward or self-promoting, but he definitely knows what he thinks ... and how to handle information. He is a deep, incisive thinker, strong-minded, intellectually adventurous, smart, literate, mentally alert, a person of solid opinions.

He may be a good teacher and a good debater if you draw him out into such discussion. He is objective, fair, concerned with issues of fairness ... and loves an intellectual challenge. Questions without easy, pat answers appeal to him.

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development. It may also represent good news about something you think, it may provide information or a piece of knowledge you need to have, or it may "fill in the blanks" on some intellectual concern.

It may also give you a chance to exchange ideas with someone who shares your interests -- or teach you something new. This energy deals frequently in written or spoken messages. You are, however, aware of its presence ... and are able to make direct use of the benefits it brings.

A problem personality factor is also part of the equation now, someone fussy, complaining, overly sensitive, paranoid, frustrated, and emotionally undisciplined. This person may be often over-wrought and fretful, obsessive, clinging, and demanding of sympathy and support from loved ones -- while offering very little in the way of compassion or even self-control in return. You have finally begun to recognize the problems this person ... or these attitudes ... cause, seeing them at last for what they are.

Alternatively: This card could be suggesting that you need to practice more diligent self-care, be more aware of your own need for love, compassion, and emotional support. Often it comes when life and the demands of those in your relationships have exhausted your resources to the point that you need to pull back, take time out for recuperation, and replenish yourself.

You need to become your own best friend for a while ... and restore yourself to the point that you can be that for others again. This may not happen overnight ... but the fact is, you can't give away what you don't have for yourself in the first place -- and it's time to fortify your inner self, in whatever actions are needed, so that you can become a positive source of support for yourself and those you love ... again.

You need some time to fantasize, dream, brainstorm ... and refocus your intentions. You are in a period of indecision, confusion, and inertia ... where fantasy is preferable to reality, and the ability to act is hindered by a lack of clear direction. You need to concentrate, be realistic, and not get lost in wishful thinking -- or simply spinning your wheels ... and getting nowhere.

You are also in danger of becoming lost in a fantasy world ... or in addictive pursuits that, in the end, gain you nothing. You at least realize the hazards of giving in to these impulses too often or too long ... and are able to work with this energy positive and directly.

You are in an experience of emotional loss -- perhaps something from your past or part of your personal history that has shown up again to haunt you. This may be something you expected -- something you were able to predict, because the pain of this encounter is lessened somehow by its familiarity. This is a sad place you've walked through before -- perhaps in other guises ... but you know how this song goes -- and, worse, how it ends.

The feelings here are regret, resignation, sorrow -- but with a sense of "deja vu". As I said ... you've been through this -- or coped with it -- before This may be a lesson you need to meet one more time -- as a way of helping you finally find the ways to get past it!!

However, despite the brave front you may manage to put on ... this could hurt -- more than you realize. You may be in denial about the seriousness of what is happening here ... or you may not know anything constructive you can do to compensate for or correct this matter.

You are moving soon into a situation that is very much in line with who you are as a spiritual being, making choices that will help you fulfill your intentions and destiny, and that will advance your personal development to a new level of experience and competence. These circumstances contain faith, trust, optimism, a sense of fresh beginnings, and a grand feeling of confidence that you know who you are, what you can do, what you want to accomplish, and that you are on the right path.

At this point, you are willing to take new and appropriate risks. You are open to new experiences. You are doing things ... and making changes ... that are original, unique, insightful, ingenious, and that fully honor you. You are standing your ground and standing by your decisions, knowing they are the proper ones for the person you are ... and the person you are becoming.

In the long term, you'll have to come to grips with the fact you haven't yet succeeded on some important project or level of experience in ways that please you. Something you may have been working on for a long time still "falls short" of completion in ways that require you to try again to bring this arrangement to a successful conclusion.
