It is a condition of achievement and competence ... where you receive what you have earned, including appreciation and financial payment. You are working on something that will serve you well in the future -- and acquiring the skills and assets you need to improve yourself and your circumstances.

You are able to take pride in your accomplishments and the reputation you have because of them. You are also able to apply this to your advantage in this situation ... and you know it.

Your own clear thinking and creative energies are right at hand and ready for you to use. You can develop and draw on your talents and abilities -- by making decisions you can trust and acting on information that is rock solid and true -- and you know exactly how to apply this asset properly. You know what to do, what to think, what direction to take, how to see your plans through to completion, and how to support your own ideas. Thought and action raised to this level of power are an unbeatable combination.

You are willing to listen to your inner self (or a trusted, wise outside counselor), clarify your thinking, fortify your courage and finally say what you think and own what you know. The benefits of this candor are hard to overstate. Sometimes there are no finer assets than straight thinking and straight talk -- backed up by direct action.

You are coping with a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This may involve someone who has -- or causes -- chronic financial problems, someone who is impractical, irresponsible, physically lazy, and who "uses" people ... especially to his own financial advantage.

Your situation may also contain attitudes that are unethical, calculating, financially stingy -- or financially greedy, and where "doing things the easy way" is a primary concern. Accommodating him (or her!) may be chronically costly to your career progress, your pocketbook, and your physical health.

Because energy is always a two-way street -- this may represent another person in your situation, or it may be a side of your personality you are reluctant to confront or control. You may not even want to admit it exists, but at least this situation is out in the open where you can recognize it and work with it directly and honestly. You realize the impact this has on your thinking and your decisions. This has your full attention now.

Alternatively: This card can indicate you need to do some serious work to refocus your thinking about money, business decisions, commercial transactions, and the use of time and other resources. It can mean a new way of conducting your financial life and managing your economic situation is waiting to unfold ... and you need to do the inner work -- and the groundwork -- to discover it.

If the description of the difficult personality above doesn't seem to fit your circumstances, or if this interpretation resonates more emphatically with the situation you are handling, then consider this to be the message the card is offering you.

You are able to move to a place of balance, stability, new insights, and greater equilibrium. You have this available, and you realize it -- if only by creating calmer conditions in your imagination for the moment. Here adjustments are easily made. You have the self-control and patience you need. There are conditions of cooperation and compromise available, more flexibility, sufficient moderation, and the integration you need for peace of mind.

You may start to see greater symmetry in your life ... perhaps in the midst of paradox. You may also see possibilities and combinations others (and even you yourself) have not considered. You will find ways to synthesize and moderate conflicting requirements ... in one of the most positive uses of your own creative energy you may have seen in a long time.

You have an tremendously important unused resource in your situation. You are in circumstances of happiness, support, positive relationships, stable emotional conditions, and tremendous satisfaction. Life is reliable, predictable, secure, peaceful, good ... and you should enjoy being here. But, for some reason, you are not applying this to benefit to your own advantage.

This is a time when you ought to be able to rely on your feelings, know what to expect, what you can count on, and who your "friends" are. It may be you simply don't trust your situation enough to know you can turn to this resource as completely as you can.

Soon, you will need to confront your own immaturity. You have been living too much in the past, clinging to outworn situations, relationships, and worthless associates. Problems from your past continue to pollute conditions in the present ... and deep emotional disappointments keep you from "moving on" ... although that is really your next step in this level of personal growth.

You will find you are caught in unproductive circumstances, dwelling on unhappy past events, dealing with rigid ideas -- your own and those of others. In short, you are not progressing, but are instead sacrificing the present for past longings and regrets ... wondering "what might have been," and staying caught in unproductive nostalgia.

Long term, you will need to heal from a period of grief ... or a deep disappointment. You will also need to give yourself time ... and the gentle care ... required to accommodate this emotional recuperation.
