This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are in a time of major change, a time when some elements of your life are ending completely and better -- or at least different -- circumstances are taking their place. This is a time of deep, necessary change ... and then, of course, the inevitable regeneration and improvement. This is an asset you can use to your advantage now, if you work with it openly and honestly, understanding that it is a natural, unavoidable stage in the creative process.

Additionally, you are in a situation where you were "caught unprepared" for the challenge you face. You are feeling pressure from superior opposition or some kind of competition where you are ill-equipped to prevail. You are not ready to defend yourself or your position adequately. You feel threatened, "taken advantage of," and outmaneuvered.

You may be unable or unwilling to do what is needed or successfully confront your adversaries. You may choose to turn and run rather than stand your ground. You may simply lack the courage and willpower to deal with what is present. This is an energy of feeling anxious, uncomfortable, outnumbered, unpopular, powerless, friendless, and victimized. You may feel there isn't much you can do to compensate for or correct the situation.

You are in a situation that is confused, stalled, frustrating, blocked, and which doesn't let you live up to your potential. A lack of leadership, vision, personal commitment, and no overall sense of objectives or direction hinders any further growth or progress for the moment.

You may be caught in a sequence of false starts, misdirected energy, setbacks, delays, obstacles, and helplessness. You may also be dealing with uncooperative attitudes from others ... and from life itself. You are wasting yourself on this merry-go-round ... and wasting your time, resources, and abilities. You're just not getting anywhere ... until you make some changes to whatever is causing this inertia. Consider that at least part of the problem likely is you.

You need to make some serious adjustments in your thinking and perspectives -- changes which may include everything from simply developing a better attitude to completely revising what you are trying to accomplish.

You are in conditions of conflict, separation, misunderstanding, and quarrelling -- possibly regarding an important relationship or alliance. The energy of this card is that of "coming apart," and indicates unbalanced relationships, failure to communicate well, failure to understand your partner and his or her needs, and an overall lack of support and appreciation in either direction among you and your associates.

It can also indicate circumstances where someone in a relationship is too possessive, dishonest, too demanding, manipulative, or cold. There is a severe lack of balance and equality in what should be a much more even or independent arrangement.

It indicates arguments, disputes, distrust, unhappiness, loneliness, and "feeling distant" from those who are supposed to care for you -- and about whom you, too, ostensibly care. This is an energy of unhappiness ... and feeling both unloved and unloving. This energy is out in the open ... where you can work with it directly and try to correct it. But as an asset, it may not be offering you much help in meeting the challenges of what you are trying to cope with.

You are in a situation that contains considerable dishonesty in what you say, think, believe ... or in what you are being told. The information you are working with is unreliable ... possibly by "putting a better face" on rather unpleasant facts. This is an energy of self-sabotage, of being complicit in your own undoing, of letting yourself be talked into something when you know better -- by accepting excuses, rationalizations, and pretty cover stories. You may even be making these up and telling them to yourself. You may learn in time you have been your own worst enemy by adopting this strategy.

This card depicts reaping the consequences of past bad actions, lies -- perhaps ones you have told yourself or lulled yourself into believing, not paying close attention to what really matters, making decisions based on wishful thinking or deceitful information, weaseling, and either trying to get away with something ... or letting somebody else get away with something -- again, when you really know better than to trust what is happening here.

This is literally an energy of theft and deception. You ... or someone else ... is trying to gain something you have not earned (which could be money, possessions, position, status, regard, or "credit" for something that doesn't really belong to you), are using sweet-talk and fabrications to support your claim, or are playing head games and trying to pull a fast one. Something about the way you think about, work with, and report this situation needs to be corrected -- and fast.

You may not see a good way around this at the moment ... or how to compensate for the problems it is causing you. You may even be in denial that it is happening ... or unaware how much it could cost you ultimately if it continues.

Soon you will reach a situation that places an extremely heavy emphasis on material success, money, public status, and "creating the right image." This may involve experiences of serious discontent, depression, and even illness -- as this represents an extraordinary perversion of the natural desire for safety, honor, and respect. This energy turns the need for fame, reputation, achievement, and respect into an obsession ... which will stoop to force, coercion, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse in order to accomplish its ends.

This represents action without understanding, without compassion, without accountability, and without considering the results and effects of what one has set in motion. It often involved someone's overweening ego ... and actions taken out of inordinate pride or in order to "save face" or gain importance. There is a lack of consideration, a pervasive attitude of selfishness and concern for appearances that creates a miserable existence.

Life at this point is seriously off track and out of kilter -- and a major crash in order to make a course correction in these circumstances may loom before too long. You may be either the victim or the perpetrator of these conditions ... but regardless of which side of the equation you fall on, you need to get this fixed -- for everyone's sake.

You do harm even to the one you allow to treat you this way if you let this arrangement continue. You will do untold harm to yourself if you are the one putting this deplorable situation into motion in the first place.

You are moving toward a final outcome where you will confront (and possibly make) foolish choices, wrong choices, choices based on fear and despair ... or where you may simply refuse to commit to a solid course of action, one way or the other. You may feel paralyzed, depressed, stalled, pessimistic ... and even paranoid.

Realize if and when this happens, you need to be open to new possibilities. You may have closed down several possible productive alternatives. You'll need to open up and see what arrives for your further consideration. You may not have the right attitude. You may not be open to success. You may be too much of a "reactor" rather than an actor in your life. This may not be your most productive arrangement by any means. You'll need to rethink your situation -- considerably.
