This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You have allies and a cooperative network of support that you can call on to help you accomplish an important personal goal. You may be "in conference" with a number of them to gain the advice and help they can offer. Their encouragement may give you the confidence you need to achieve a vision or ambition that "took some doing" to bring into reality.

You are also in a time of major change regarding this issue, a time when some elements are ending completely and better -- or at least different -- circumstances are taking their place. This is a time of deep, necessary change ... and then, of course, the inevitable regeneration and improvement. This is an asset you can use to your advantage now, if you work with it openly and honestly.

There is also a problem personality complicating the picture, someone who qualifies as a real trouble-maker. There is a sly cunning to this character, and a secretive, scheming "mean streak" that may make him (or her) particularly hard to get along with. Attitudes of aggression, sarcasm, cynicism, and pettiness dominate -- along with an insufferable spirit of narcissism that may be almost impossible to stomach. You are aware of this ... and you understand how much impact this person or these attitudes have on your own outlook and thinking.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own thinking, opinions, and the way you express your ideas. You may be acting on wrong information. Your prejudices or a serious misunderstanding of the facts could be having too much influence on your thinking. You may be pushing your opinions too hard and alienating others from considering your views objectively. You may realize you've been too one-sided in your thinking or that you haven't been listening well.

You may have decided to pull back for a while and reconsider some of your stronger views and the way you express them that could actually be either misguided ... or hurting your own cause. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

You are in a situation that places an extremely heavy emphasis on material success, money, public status, and "creating the right image." This may involve experiences of serious discontent, depression, and even illness -- as this represents an extraordinary perversion of the natural desire for safety, honor, and respect. This energy turns the need for fame, reputation, achievement, and respect into an obsession ... which will stoop to force, coercion, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse in order to accomplish its ends.

This represents action without understanding, without compassion, without accountability, and without considering the results and effects of what one has set in motion. It often involved someone's overweening ego ... and actions taken out of inordinate pride or in order to "save face" or gain importance. There is a lack of consideration, a pervasive attitude of selfishness and concern for appearances that creates a miserable existence.

Life at this point is seriously off track and out of kilter -- and a major crash in order to make a course correction in these circumstances may loom before too long. You may be either the victim or the perpetrator of these conditions ... but regardless of which side of the equation you fall on, you need to get this fixed -- for everyone's sake.

You do harm even to the one you allow to treat you this way if you let this arrangement continue. You will do untold harm to yourself if you are the one putting this deplorable situation into motion in the first place. You may not see a good way out of this mess ... or how to compensate for the problems it is causing, but at least at this point you do understand this is happening ... and that it needs to be corrected ASAP. You are able to deal with this matter openly and directly now.

You are involved in experiences that include serious quarrelling, anxiety, and deep philosophical disagreement. This is an extremely disagreeable situation, containing, as it does, elements of defeat, unfairness, failure, slander, cruelty, cowardliness, and malice. You may feel you have been treated unfairly ... or realize that you have done so to others. (Possibly both.)

This is a situation of insensitivity, fear, the realization that you are not following your conscience -- if you pause long enough to rationally consider what is happening here. You are pushing an issue ... or using force ... to no good avail, often to avoid changing your mind about something dear or important to you. Or you are feeling coerced and pressured to change your opinions ... or surrender your ideas ... by circumstances or another person.

This is an energy of victimization, and because energy is always a two way street, you may be either the victim, the perpetrator, or quite likely ... both. You may have to cope with feelings of revenge, the consequences of your self-defeating actions, or the consequences of ruthless responses.

Even "winning" here gains you nothing but an empty victory. You are likely locked into circumstances which involve mind games, game-playing, scoring points, getting even, and working to get "one up" on someone else -- and vice versa. You need desperately to change your thinking.

You may not see a good way out of this situation ... or how to compensate well for the considerable problems this is causing you. You may still be in denial that this is crippling you to the extent it is, that you need to change your approach and viewpoints, or you may not know yet what that change needs to be -- or how to make it.

Soon, you will reach a resolution where impatience and wasted effort are very much part of the arrangement. The energy here "keeps pushing" ... instead of stepping back and listening to what might be good advice, intuition, or the offering of better options. You may be determined to make something happen your way. Or you may not want to use other strategies and alternatives -- even though they exist and might be far more effective than the ones you're so fond of.

This energy also indicates you are indulging in fantasies, grudges, paranoia, illusions, escapism, and / or procrastination. You are stuck and stalled -- or not willing to let go and move on -- regardless of whether or not this is getting you the results you want and need. You may be choosing not to rock the boat -- but for all the wrong reasons. You may be refusing to make a necessary decision. You are letting your own hang-ups blind you to all viewpoints except your own.

In time, you will meet a helpful person or adopt a very beneficial set of attitudes. This person is introspective -- but may have a very upbeat and enthusiastic personality. He is interested in learning who he is and what his "mission in life" may be about. He has ambition and charisma. He is learning to make his mark on the world ... even if through the sheer force of his personality -- which may be substantial.

This person is energetic, volatile, impulsive, and likes to stir up excitement. He is outgoing, generous, innovative, competitive, positive, and bold. He is interested in becoming all he can be -- and is a natural leader, although he may be relatively "new" at the tasks that occupy him at the moment.

He will clearly have the potential to "get noticed" and develop a following. He takes risks, shows determination, is always up for "learning more" ... and may be willing to "try anything once."

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development. It may also represent good news about something you are trying to accomplish or become -- something which offers you the encouragement you've been looking for and enables you to go forward.
