This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are in circumstances of greater freedom, wider options, and more latitude than was the case not long ago. This liberation may be both new ... and substantial -- after a time of feeling trapped, imprisoned, and severely restrained. You see your circumstances differently now. You are willing to adopt ideas you wouldn't consider before and accept viewpoints that once seemed "impossible." Moreover, you are willing and able to act of these different perspectives. This change in your thinking is an important asset -- maybe even an important lesson in your future development.

You are also in a position of strength ... where you can use your own force, fortitude, and power to great advantage. This energy contains tremendous energy, steadfastness, and self-confidence. You have access to abundant sources of inner power ... that you can use to your own benefit out in the real world. You are willing to take on challenging projects with the determination to follow them through to success

Habits, conventional behavior, fulfilling your assigned role, playing by the rules, conforming to social and group expectations, seeking approval, and "doing as you're told" are on your mind. There is no provision for experimentation, change, or innovation. This energy supports, "belonging," maintaining the status quo, and applying traditional routines to deal with issues and problems. It is having considerable influence on your thinking and choices at the moment.

You are coping with a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This person is wasteful, careless with money, possibly too materialistic or too easily impressed with status symbols. He (or she) is without practical direction, may not show much common sense, may lack "a good head for business," and may be in constant financial distress as a result. This person may also be physically ill -- most likely from poor lifestyle choices.

This is someone who doesn't learn ... even from his own mistakes -- of which there may be plenty to choose from as examples of how not to behave. The attitudes present here are hedonistic, vain, status-conscious, contrary, extravagant, impractical, self-absorbed, and unwilling to listen to the voice of experience.

This may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality you need to confront and correct. You may not feel there is much you can do to correct or compensate for the problems this person or this part of yourself presents, but at this point you at least understand what is going on and are able to confront the matter openly and directly -- for all the good it may do.

Alternatively: You may need to step back, go inward, an reconnect with your own common sense. You may also need to rethink some matter involving your career, business life, or commercial enterprises. You may need to learn some thing you don't know at the moment ... or implement some strategies you have only begun to discover. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person -- or a counter-productive set of attitudes, consider this is the message the card intends to deliver to you now.

Your situation contains a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This person is lazy, dishonest, a swindler, a fraud. He (or she) is irresponsible, manipulative, overly concerned with creature comforts or "taking the easy way out." He is self-indulgent, a "taker," a false friend .. and an emotional drain on those around him.

Attitudes present here include insincerity, "living in a dream world," wanting others to take care of him or rescue him, and being focused only on how he can "use" people.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not realize how much this person -- or these attitudes -- are harming your ability to launch effective action. Or you may feel there is really no way to compensate for the problems that are occurring.

In time, you will emerge from conditions in which too much emphasis on materialism corrupted your ability to enjoy life. You will see how you yourself... or someone significant in your situation ... placed too much stock in money, status, position, and other temporal trappings, possibly to the point of abusing himself (or herself!!) or others in his drive to succeed. The belief that this kind of "success" would make him happy will has proved false -- and yet it paved the way for a new level of spiritual awareness and enlightenment to emerge.

The energy of this card indicates the joyful experience of regaining your soul after a time of losing it -- or worse, giving it away -- for one reason or another. Abusive attitudes, practices, and circumstances end ... and better arrangements can now prevail.

Ultimately you will face circumstances where impatience is both a major factor and a possible pitfall. You may find other people dominate your thinking and decisions. You may not consider your options, possibilities, responsibilities, resources, or other choices that might contribute better to your advancement -- and success. By surrendering to these tactics and temptations you may undermine your own goals ... long before you reach them.

These are conditions where misunderstandings, opposition, and a lack of cooperation are on full display, where you may be receiving -- and sending -- mixed messages, where the "details" ... and even "realistic thinking" elude you. This is an odd and uncomfortable energy of being both ambivalent ... and urgently anxious to be on the move. Trouble is ... there's no way to know for sure which direction to head -- and that you're not moving in the wrong one.
