This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are stalled in a period of "not accomplishing anything constructive," coping with incompetence -- your own or someone else's, realizing you are "unprepared" for the problems you face, and reorienting your values toward "achieving something worthwhile and profitable." This may have been quite a drain on your reserves and you are intent on solving this problem.

You have an important asset in your situation. You have arrangements that are very much in line with who you are as a spiritual being, able to make choices that will help you fulfill your intentions and destiny, and that will advance your personal development to a new level of experience and competence.

These circumstances contain faith, trust, optimism, a sense of fresh beginnings, and a grand feeling of confidence that you know who you are, what you can do, what you want to accomplish, and that you are on the right path.

At this point, you should be willing to take new and appropriate risks, be open to new experiences, doing things ... and making changes ... that are original, unique, insightful, ingenious, and that fully honor you. It's time to stand your ground and stand by your decisions, knowing they are the proper ones for the person you are ... and the person you are becoming.

You understand that these conditions exist ... and that you can use them whenever you want, whenever you need to, whenever you are ready.

A problem "personality factor" is affecting your situation, someone who is financially dependent, ill, or physically helpless. She (or he) may be impractical, wasteful, status-conscious, materialistic, superficial, judgmental, and irresponsible. She may be making no use of her own abilities, not trying to care for herself physically, unable to manage her economic life, and constantly in need of support and rescue.

She may blame others for her problems, be critical, fault-finding, and hard to get along with, have a confused professional life or unrealistic ambitions, and be full of great dreams and fantasies -- but with no actual achievement to back them up.

This may be another person. This may be the response elicited from you as a result of the stress you are having to handle, or it may be one of your own inner selves coming to your attention for you to notice and adjust. It is having a significant influence on your thinking and your choices at this point.

Alternatively: This card could suggest that you need to step back, go inward, and consider how you are failing to nourish yourself properly, or failing to provide for and support yourself properly. You may be trying to "take care of everybody else" ... to your own detriment. It's time to reconsider the load you are trying to handle ... and what you may be getting in return for all the effort you are spending.

If you resonate to this meaning more than to the presence of a problem person ... or a difficult set of your own attitudes, it is likely this is the message the card is sending to you. It could very well be time to "turn your thinking around."

You are in a situation where your "only choice" is perseverance, moving forward, probably against resistance and with difficulty. You will be dealing with heavy burdens of work and responsibility -- probably assumed as a result of your own success. You may need to delegate and make others carry their fair share of the load -- but when push really comes to shove, you will be the only one who can really make things happen and fulfill the requirements that are present here.

You may feel weighted down with worries and concerns, but still required to carry on -- because again, the buck stops with you and you are the only person able to do what has to be done. These circumstances may feel extremely oppressive ... and you may have to decide if you have really bitten off more than you can chew in handling this matter. You will be seriously over-committed and lacking in time for yourself -- or anything else.

You may need to get rid of what you no longer need, find help wherever you can, and get ready for a new level of growth -- because you've gotten about all that's available for you here ... except "more of the same." At this point, however, you are aware of this condition ... and can work with it openly and directly.

You are in conditions of self-indulgence, laziness, lack of focus, and stagnation. Your creativity may be on hold ... or you are yourself drifting emotionally. You may feel a loss of focus or lack of connection in your social life, friendships, and relationships. You need new interests, new opportunities for growth, new projects to excite your soul.

You and others may be taking each other for granted. You may be unsatisfied with the love and support levels available to you. You may feel friendless and isolated ... and while you may put on a good front -- that's what it is. A front.

You may, however, be in denial about how seriously this is affecting your life and your emotional integrity at the moment. You may not think you can do much to effect changes. Or you may be unaware of how much this energy is affecting the backstage conditions of your life.

You will soon however, have to cope with a lack in the quality or quantity of support you need to create the vision you have in mind. You may be teamed up with colleagues and allies that simply aren't up to the task at hand. Someone you are depending on may let you down with a thud -- or some crucial element in your creation will not arrive or will not perform as required. You need to look at the warning signs that tell you trouble is brewing here.

Ultimately, you are creating circumstances where there is a huge disparity between the quality (and perhaps quantity) of work you do and the amount you are paid in return. You may be charging top dollar for incompetent, poor-quality products and services. You may be cutting corners, trying to "scoot by" with as little effort as possible, and you may even be doing things that border on fraud.

Or you may be dealing with people who are treating you this way, abusing your craftsmanship, not appreciating the effort you put out on their behalf, and trying to "get something for nothing" by giving you back as little as they can possibly get away with. If you are putting up with this treatment, you are shamefully complying in your own exploitation. Abuse is abuse ... and "good intentions" don't do much to change its ugly appearances or sad results.

There are indications in this energy that someone's vanity is way out of control ... that he is unjustifiably proud of himself, smug in his ability to beat the system, fleece the "suckers," ride on other people's coattails, or get what he wants "for free", not understanding (or maybe not caring) about the karmic implications and eventual backlash being created by his choices.

Realize, too, there is not much honor in playing the perpetual victim if you are the one on the short end of the stick here ... and are staying there so you can criticize others or use self-pity as a building block in the self-righteous image you may have of yourself.

By skirting the law -- cosmic law, human law, and the physical law of cause-and-effect, you are misapplying your skills, not respecting yourself, not insisting that others grow and behave themselves better, getting lost in the pettiness of life, bogged down in "the small stuff," and definitely going about things in the wrong way.

No matter which side of this transaction you are on ... as the perpetrator or the victim of this abuse, these are not circumstances to be proud of, and the longer you let them continue the harder it will be to break the habit. So you need to get to work on that ... and soon. You are too focused on short terms gains ... and taking the easy way out.
