This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

There is a "personality problem" on the scene, someone malicious, cruel, sarcastic, intolerant, and prone to use his or her superior mental gifts and hurtful tongue as weapons in a situation of "warfare."

This may be another person ... or this may be a side of your character, brought out into the open as a result of the stress you are enduring. There is tremendous anger in this person -- and great destructive potential -- but at least they are "out in the open" now where you can face them directly, instead of having constantly to watch your back and wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

Alternatively: This card can mean that you have decided to step back, go inward, and consult your Inner Scholar about the best course of action to take ... and how to handle the challenges you are facing at the moment. If you resonate more to this meaning than to the presence of a difficult personality or counterproductive attitude such as those described above, it is likely this is the suggestion the card has for you now -- to help you deal with this energy more productively.

You are also in a situation where you need some time to fantasize, dream, brainstorm ... and refocus your intentions. You are in a period of indecision, confusion, and inertia ... where fantasy is preferable to reality, and the ability to act is hindered by a lack of clear direction. You need to concentrate, be realistic, and not get lost in wishful thinking -- or simply spinning your wheels ... and getting nowhere.

You are also in danger of becoming lost in a fantasy world ... or in addictive pursuits that, in the end, gain you nothing. You at least realize the hazards of giving in to these impulses too often or too long ... and are able to work with this energy positive and directly.

You have "a better idea," a new philosophical perspective, a new vision available to you. You have the chance to use greater insight and intelligence ... being "smarter" than you used to be. This may involve both new information and a new educational opportunity. You are able to get your points across, communicate well, and see your issues more clearly.

This is a time of creative visualization, new plans, powerful new uses of your own mental energy, and "knowing the right answers." You feel intellectually compatible with your directions ... and know you have finally "gotten the message." At last you are able to use these wonderful assets properly on your own behalf -- and they have your complete attention now.

You are in circumstances where money is a problem. This experience may cost you more than you expected, or money you were counting on may evaporate or not arrive, or a lack of resources plays a pivotal part moving things to closure. You need to be cautious and conservative concerning money, financial arrangements, investments, the use of resources and possessions, and your channels of income.

Beware of believing promises that may let you down seriously if they don't materialize. You need to control your expenses ... and know where your money is coming from as well as where it is going. You may not see ways to compensate for or cope with this challenge well -- but at least you are able to deal with the situation openly, honestly, and directly.

Alternatively: This card can indicate a time when you are reorganizing your spending habits, probably in response to changes in your personal values. You may be bringing your financial transactions into closer alignment with your ideas and beliefs.

You are in circumstances where you feel unhappy, dissatisfied, "incomplete," and strained. You may also have to cope with loneliness or "being in a rut" that keeps you from moving forward to another level of experience and challenge. Possibly there is a chronic problem you haven't solved yet or a situation you haven't yet brought to closure. There is a heavy energy of dissatisfaction that permeates your world ... of something that just isn't yet what you want it to be.

You may want to release something -- but be unable to. Or you may be holding onto something because it is not what you want it to be yet ... and therefore the foundation you need to move on to another level ... or another situation ... isn't in place to support new growth. Either way, this unfinished business ... and the stagnation in which it exists ... will continue until you figure out how to break the stalemate.

You may not see a good way out of this quagmire ... or be able to compensate well for the problems it is causing you. You also may be in denial that things are as stuck as they are, but you will have to confront that more directly before long.

Soon, you will move into a situation where there is "no victory" or where the success you are aiming for just isn't coming together properly. Possibly in the end, the success you gain isn't the one you thought you wanted. This card may reflect a lack of commitment to your own eventual goal ... or self-sabotaging habits that are costing you more than you realize. You may also be in denial about just how powerful these effects are ... and how much damage these influences are causing ... which doesn't help you at all in your efforts to cope with or correct them.

Ultimately, you will find there is much more to this situation, however, than meets the eye ... and you will have to trust your feelings and instincts on this issue to a very great extent, rather than taking matters at face value. You may have the feeling of something important unfolding beneath the exterior surface of life that won't yet have made itself clearly known -- or taken on its final shape.
