This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are in a position of strength ... where you can use your own force, fortitude, and power to great advantage. This energy contains tremendous energy, steadfastness, and self-confidence. You have access to abundant sources of inner power ... that you can use to your own benefit out in the real world. You are willing to take on challenging projects with the determination to follow them through to success.

You are in a time of rebirth, glorious opportunities, and new beginnings. This may be the start of a whole new set of adventures and creative expression -- or you may be moving on to something finer and more exciting that is a continuation of where you are presently, built on the foundation of your own wisdom and achievements to this point.

Your viewpoints are still overshadowed by a time of sorrow or sadness over a relationship that ended or the processing of a serious disappointment. But, at this point, you are willing to see this and acknowledge it directly for what it is. It remains an emotional drain ... but you're working to resolve it.

You are coping with a problem personality -- or destructive set of attitudes. This person is domineering, obstinate, vengeful, cruel. She (or he!) places too much emphasis on her own image -- and is insecure in this identity. She is insincere, shallow, condescending, jealous ... and may pick at or find fault with others in order to undermine their confidence. This may be a tactic to build up her own flagging, unsteady self-image.

This person is also demanding, petty, rigid, vain, lacking in compassion and sympathy. Her attitudes are narrow-minded, bitter, controlling, ruthlessly competitive, and angry. She is self-absorbed, self-centered, and may be given to "ambushing" people -- as a tactic for gaining power. About the best that can be said of this energy is ... it's out in the open where you can work with and confront it directly. It's very easy to spot it ... and tell what's going on.

This may, indeed, be another person you have to cope with -- or it may be an inner personality of yours that is causing trouble, and that has come to the surface now so you can confront and correct its counterproductive effects.

Alternatively: This may be a signal you need to turn inward and reconnect with the inner self that provides confidence, leadership, and support for your sense of who you are and what you can do. This may require some deliberate effort and a recognition that you are badly out of touch with these important character components. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person -- or a counter-productive set of attitudes, consider this is the message the card intends to deliver to you now.

You have circumstances which are acceptably satisfying, but tinged, nevertheless, with mild regrets. You realize "what might have been" if you had made different choices, applied different logic, acted more decisively, or used your advantages with greater skill. You may see how to do things better next time. But that will have to wait for another day.

Soon, you will come to a time of stopping, pausing, considering, analyzing, examining your situation, weighing your options, judging your resources and assets, confirming your allies and partnerships, and testing your own desire and determination.

You may need to compare your visions and ambitions against what is realistic and possible ... to see if you have any substantial flaws caused by your own enthusiasm that you need to consider or correct before you go any farther. This is a time of "going through your check list" ... to make sure everything you need is in place for the journey ahead -- including your own resolve to launch new efforts and see them through to completion.

You will be considering "what it takes to succeed here," getting feedback and ideas from others, talking things over, listening to the consultation and advice of people you trust -- and who may be companions on this journey, too. You will be going over your plans one more time ... and getting ready to make your moves.

This time may feel like things are "stopped dead still' and that you are "waiting" for something (which may not be easy if your temperament doesn't take well to the advice that you "hold your horses" and "have a little patience") -- but this is an essential part of a successful venture. Jumping the gun, when a little more time would pay off handsomely, is a terrible waste ... of everything.

You are heading ultimately into a place where confusion, indecision, and stagnation prevail. Your own weak will and ineptitude in dealing with this new situation -- or the developments that come in your present situation -- will be a major handicap in your ability to make progress into something better.

You may have to cope with a lack of wisdom, shallow and inadequate knowledge, incorrect information, improper focus, a willingness to offer or settle for "easy answers," poor concentration ... and maybe outright lies. This is an energy of mediocrity and incompetence, dancing around the truth, rationalizing, dissembling, covering up, and "putting on a front."

It suggests living in the shallows, being uninspired and uninspiring, being bored and depressed, not sharing what you know ... or not having anything worth sharing. A lack of planning, lack of attention to details, poor organization and initiative, and intellectual pomposity may be on prominent display.

You may find this energy present in another person you have to manage -- or work around. You may also find these qualities in yourself coming out in the open where you have to confront and correct them. Whichever way this happens, you need to get this taken care of. At this point, your own inability to think straight and act on sound decisions is working against you -- and costing you more than you realize.
