This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are in a situation where something important to you needs to be released, but you may be unwilling to let it go. Or you may not realize that it's time to do so. You feel unhappy, dissatisfied, "incomplete," and strained. You may also be coping with loneliness or "being in a rut" that keeps you from moving forward to another level of experience and challenge.

Possibly there is a chronic problem you haven't solved yet or a situation you haven't yet brought to closure. There is a heavy energy of dissatisfaction that permeates your world ... of something that just isn't yet what you want it to be.

You may want to release something -- but are unable to. Or you may be holding onto something because it is not what you want it to be yet ... and therefore the foundation you need to move on to another level ... or another situation ... isn't in place to support new growth. Either way, this unfinished business ... and the stagnation in which it exists ... continues.

You are aware of this influence ... and able to work with it openly and directly. That may be all the good you can say about it, though.

There is much more to this situation, however, than meets the eye ... and you are having to trust your feelings and instincts on this issue to a very great extent, rather than being able to take matters at face value. You may have the feeling of something important unfolding beneath the exterior surface of life that hasn't yet made itself clearly known -- or taken on its final shape.

You have an important asset in your situation ... a helpful person or a very beneficial set of attitudes. This person is introspective -- but may have a very upbeat and enthusiastic personality. He (or she!) is loving, sensitive, caring, artistic, cultured, and eager to please. He may be quite imaginative ... someone who values both learning and social connections. Feelings are important to him ... and happiness in his world means having the opportunity to enjoy some of life's finer and more sophisticated pleasures.

He is diplomat, a natural psychologist, a peacemaker who knows how to work with the give and take of relationships. He has a kind, gentle, sentimental, and compassionate personality. He pays attention to his intuition ... and may be fairly described as "emotional" ... easily moved by empathy and concern. He is affectionate, easy to like, though also moody and idealistic ... possibly just a little too impractical and trusting to move easily through this world.

This energy may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality coming to the forefront to aid you or promote their own further development. It may also represent a sudden intuitive feeling, dream or creative inspiration about something you are trying to accomplish or become -- something which offers you the encouragement you've been looking for and enables you to go forward.

Further, it can signal the beginning of a new relationship, a new emotional connection, or involvement in a new creative venture. However this is manifesting in your world now, it has tremendous impact on your viewpoints, your opinions, your ideas ... and the choices you are making about this situation.

You have an interesting asset available in your situation: The ability to reinstate reality on an intellectual level. This often means someone owns up to the truth, makes amends, and comes to terms honestly with what has happened. You may give credit to someone you have treated unfairly or apologize to someone you have harmed. Or someone who has mistreated or slighted you will decide to set the record straight. At this point you realize this is either possible or necessary.

Properly used, this energy indicates that recognition and credit are given ... if belatedly. Balance is restored. There is greater understanding and honesty in circumstances where misunderstanding, rationalization, deception and even outright lies have existed. You will be able to make better, clearer choices -- because at last you're acting on the truth. You are able to openly, deliberately put this into effect.

You can bring about basic clarification and allow atonements to take place. You, or someone, is able to listen, get the message, learn the lesson, and accept the necessary consequences of past actions. At last, you are no longer fooling yourself, accepting pretty "cover stories," or living in fantasies that have no connection to reality.

It may have been a long unhappy road that brought you here ... but here is a better place to be, and now you can apply its advantages to your own benefit.

You are in a situation that involves confusion, anxiety, and upset. You may not know what to do or what to think. Your direction is unclear ... and you may have no good answers for the problems that still face you. This energy is the feeling of being "locked in," trapped, unable to accomplish anything to put your troubles behind you. You need to rethink your choices ... and change some of your fundamental attitudes. You may not have information you need ... or some of your thinking may be skewed and unproductive.

You feel irritated, exasperated, unable to find meaning -- or clarity. This is the sensation of trying to swim against the current ... and needing to make major adjustments in your opinions, ideas, viewpoints, and intellectual positions. You may not see a good way out of this dilemma at the moment ... or ways to compensate for the problems it is causing you. You may also be in denial about just how seriously you are being hampered by the circumstances that exist here ... and your responses to them.

Soon, you will reach a resolution where you are failing to take charge of your circumstances ... and your life, conditions where you are either pushing too hard or not exercising your rightful authority in the choices and directions of your own life. You may be dealing with energy that is tyrannical, controlling, domineering, and abusive. You may also be wasting opportunities and not building anything constructive at this point.

This card's energy can also mean someone in your situation (possibly you yourself) is being lazy and indifferent ... drifting when you ought to be doing something constructive and making discernible progress ... or at least paying better attention. You may not be exercising proper self-discipline or self-control. You ... or someone influential in your situation ... may be wanting success without doing the necessary work. You also may be dealing with negative or unethical motives.

You will be suffering overall from a lack of courage, determination, leadership, and action. You may be mismanaging an important situation ... and making no progress. You ... or someone in this situation ... may be displaying or coping with toxic ego issues, interested only in self-advancement or self-promotion. You may also be coping somehow with delusions of grandeur ... or a complete lack of integrity, ability, and ambition.

You are heading toward a resolution that contains a sense of disappointment ... and discovery, the realization that you "haven't arrived yet" at the destination you now have in mind. Where you will be may, in fact, be the place you were originally heading for ... but with more experience and perspective, you will understand that it is just an interim stage on the way to a much larger goal.

Likely you will feel let down and dissatisfied by this knowledge ... because instead of being at the end!! of this particular endeavor, venture, or project, you are still somewhere in the middle -- with yet more work to accomplish. Another possibility is the discovery that you've achieved something that no longer suits you ... that you really no longer want or can use.

You need to make a major course correction in order to set yourself right on a more productive path ... and that knowledge can be temporarily discouraging. The feeling that goes with this time is that of incompletion and of having "yet another mountain to climb."

True, this may not be the result you were originally hoping for ... but it is a moment of understanding that eventually, you'll have more to show for your work than you expected in the beginning.
