This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

Your situation centers around a person does not accept opposition well, who isn't overly helpful or sympathetic, who may have the idea that his way is the only way. Attitudes of intolerance, self-righteousness, narrow-mindedness, and willful dominance pollute the atmosphere ... coming either from you or from someone else, and possibly both. This could present quite a challenge for you to overcome because of the intensity and intellectual force of this intractable individual.

Alternatively: You may have to reconsider the direction you are taking and the kind of leadership you are offering yourself with your choices and goals. Something about your vision and ambitions may be off-track -- either in the intensity with which you are pursuing wrong-headed decisions or the lack of commitment you have to your own declared intentions.

There is also a "personality problem" on the scene, someone malicious, cruel, sarcastic, intolerant, and prone to use his or her superior mental gifts and hurtful tongue as weapons in a situation of "warfare."

This may be another person ... or this may be a side of your character, brought out into the open as a result of the stress you are enduring.

There is tremendous anger in this person -- and great destructive potential -- but at least they are "out in the open" now where you can face them directly, instead of having constantly to watch your back and wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

Alternatively: This card can mean that you have decided to step back, go inward, and consult your Inner Scholar about the best course of action to take ... and how to handle the challenges you are facing at the moment. If you resonate more to this meaning than to the presence of a difficult personality or counterproductive attitude such as those described above, it is likely this is the suggestion the card has for you now -- to help you deal with this energy more productively.

You are in a situation that contains heartbreak, sorrow, abuse, setbacks, and shattered emotions. This situation may also hold a lack of appreciation, betrayal, injury, separation, grief, and terrible disappointment. While on the surface this energy represents the heart and head at odds with one another ... the reality is often extremely painful.

Far more upsetting than your thoughts telling you one thing and your heart another, this energy usually contains disbelief that you have been treated so badly by someone you care for ... and the realization that you have to get over loving and needing someone who could hurt you this way.

This energy is that of being victimized, harmed, even brutalized physically or emotionally. It may also indicate you have done this to somebody else ... but either way there are karmic liabilities contained here -- and the eventual, inevitable backlash may be pretty severe.

This may be part of the current day conditions ... or it may be problems held over from an old piece of abusive personal history. In either case, it is "out in the open" where you are well aware of it -- and understand the complications it is bringing to your situation. In fact, it has your full attention at the moment -- perhaps as a way of defending yourself.

You have changed some well-established beliefs and attitudes, although possibly only through force of necessity. You understand how in some of your ideas and actions you were wrong, unfair, misled, misinformed, confused, or how your behavior did considerable harm to yourself and others.

You consider this episode a "learning experience" ... and realize you are dealing with the consequences of your own choices -- well-informed ones and otherwise. Mostly otherwise. Your new perspective significantly alters some of your previous beliefs about your philosophy of life, your ability to communicate what you know, the "truth" about what you stand for ... and things you were "originally taught" ... on some fairly basic principles of living.

You are in a situation where you can use money and resources wisely. These are circumstances of prosperity where you receive what you deserve and are able to share the bounty with others. It may mark a moment of material gain or an upswing in prosperity. It's possible a gift is involved, or a return on past investments. It is a time of feeling well-off and able to make new investments of yourself and your assets in new projects and other people.

Your own generosity may be on full display -- or you may be the beneficiary of other people who are willing to lend support and help for things you want to accomplish. It's a time of reaping what you've sown -- and you find you have plenty. You may also be prompted to combine your resources with those of others for some effort of mutual gain.

You may also be given opportunities to "branch out" ... and either increase your income or diversify the sources from which it comes. These happy circumstances may not be fully clear to you at the moment ... or you may not be applying them to best advantage. Something about this bounty is still hidden, unused, or inaccessible.

Soon, you will come to a place where reality is restored on an intellectual level. This often means someone owns up to the truth, makes amends, and comes to terms honestly with what has happened. You may give credit to someone you have treated unfairly or apologize to someone you have harmed. Or someone who has mistreated or slighted you will decide to set the record straight.

This energy indicates that recognition and credit are given ... if belatedly. Balance is restored. There is greater understanding and honesty in circumstances where misunderstanding, rationalization, deception and even outright lies have existed. You will be able to make better, clearer choices -- because at last you're acting on the truth.

Necessary clarification and atonements take place. You (or someone!!) listens, gets the message, learns the lesson, and accepts the necessary consequences of past actions. You are no longer fooling yourself, accepting pretty "cover stories," or living in fantasies that have no connection to reality. It may have been a long unhappy road that brought you here ... but here is a better place to be.

Ultimately, you are moving to a place of balance, stability, new insights, and greater equilibrium. Here adjustments are easily made. You have the self-control and patience you need. There are conditions of cooperation and compromise available, more flexibility, sufficient moderation, and the integration you need for peace of mind.

You may start to see greater symmetry in your life ... perhaps in the midst of paradox. You may also see possibilities and combinations others (and even you yourself) have not considered. You will find ways to synthesize and moderate conflicting requirements ... in one of the most positive uses of your own creative energy you may have seen in a long time.
