This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

You are in a situation that places an extremely heavy emphasis on material success, money, public status, and "creating the right image." This may involve experiences of serious discontent, depression, and even illness -- as this represents an extraordinary perversion of the natural desire for safety, honor, and respect. This energy turns the need for fame, reputation, achievement, and respect into an obsession ... which will stoop to force, coercion, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse in order to accomplish its ends.

This represents action without understanding, without compassion, without accountability, and without considering the results and effects of what one has set in motion. It often involved someone's overweening ego ... and actions taken out of inordinate pride or in order to "save face" or gain importance. There is a lack of consideration, a pervasive attitude of selfishness and concern for appearances that creates a miserable existence.

Life at this point is seriously off track and out of kilter -- and a major crash in order to make a course correction in these circumstances may loom before too long. You may be either the victim or the perpetrator of these conditions ... but regardless of which side of the equation you fall on, you need to get this fixed -- for everyone's sake.

You do harm even to the one you allow to treat you this way if you let this arrangement continue. You will do untold harm to yourself if you are the one putting this deplorable situation into motion in the first place. You may not see a good way out of this mess ... or how to compensate for the problems it is causing, but at least at this point you do understand this is happening ... and that it needs to be corrected ASAP.

A problem personality is also part of the equation, someone fussy, complaining, overly sensitive, paranoid, frustrated, and emotionally undisciplined. This person may be often over-wrought and fretful, obsessive, clinging, and demanding of sympathy and "support" from loved ones -- while offering very little in the way of compassion or even self-control in return. You have finally begun to recognize the problems this person ... or these attitudes ... cause, seeing them at last for what they are. It is possible this also represents a part of your personality -- or attitudes triggered in you by the stressful circumstances you are involved with.

Alternatively: This card can mean that you need to go inward, reconnect with your own sources of creativity, self-nourishment, and self-love. It may be time for you to start treating yourself as well as you try to treat others, to get back on your own side for a change, and to remember and honor all the wonderful things you are. You cannot give away what you don't have in the first place, and it may be time for you to replenish your emotional stock.

If this meaning resonates to you more than the above description of a problematic personality, then consider that this message is the one the card intends to deliver to you.

You are in a condition of waiting, listening, indecision, and stasis. This may be a fairly tense time of ambivalence, hanging fire, or feeling you have reached an impasse. Or you may be waiting to see what happens in a situation of stalemate ... where there is no clear winner, no clear victory, and no clear path regarding how to break out of this arrangement.

You could be waiting for direction, waiting for new inspiration, looking for "a sign" about what to do next. You may also be checking your own priorities and options ... or listening to advice and counsel -- both inner and outer. You may be taking in different ideas, considering other points of view, hearing dissent and cautions -- as well as support and agreement.

You may know you need to make an important decision, but postpone action in order to examine both sides of the issue. This is a time of being quiet, pausing, being passive, keeping an open mind, considering your next move, and sorting out what you really think from all the information you are receiving.

Although you may not be moving forward at the moment ... you understand that using this strategy to your own advantage, choosing your own time, and making sure you are in possession of all the proper facts, could be vital to the successful resolution of your issue.

This matter has your full attention at the moment, and is having considerable impact on your thinking and choices.

You have a situation where serious imbalances prevail, where competing interests, separation, and quarrelling are very much part of the atmosphere. The supporting energy in this arrangement is that of bad management and bad judgment, overweening pride, arrogance, and pretentiousness. There is a lot of wasted energy to cope with, a failure to understand others (or feel understood yourself) ... and where stress, frustration, and chaos abound.

You may have arrived here by leaping without looking, pushed hard on an issue where force was not the answer, applied rash, ill-considered ideas, or failed to consider sound advice and different approaches. Now, of course, you have to cope with these problems ... and work to restore harmony as part of your evolution -- and bridge out of this mess.

You may be very scattered and unfocused in your own feelings, intentions, or goals -- and willing to entertain radical solutions. But at least you understand what you are up against. You are able to work with it directly. And you understand the scope of what you're facing.

You are in a place where confusion, indecision, and stagnation prevail. Your own weak will and ineptitude in dealing with this new situation -- or the developments that come in your present situation -- will be a major handicap in your ability to make progress into something better.

You may have to cope with a lack of wisdom, shallow and inadequate knowledge, incorrect information, improper focus, a willingness to offer or settle for "easy answers," poor concentration ... and maybe outright lies. This is an energy of mediocrity and incompetence, dancing around the truth, rationalizing, dissembling, covering up, and "putting on a front."

It suggests living in the shallows, being uninspired and uninspiring, being bored and depressed, not sharing what you know ... or not having anything worth sharing. A lack of planning, lack of attention to details, poor organization and initiative, and intellectual pomposity may be on prominent display.

You may find this energy present in another person you have to manage -- or work around. You may also find these qualities in yourself coming out in the open where you have to confront and correct them. Whichever way this happens, you need to get this taken care of.

At this point, your own inability to think straight and act on sound decisions is working against you -- and costing you more than you realize. You may not see a good way out of this situation ... or a way to compensate adequately for it. You may also be in denial that it is happening to the extent it is.

Soon, you are heading into a time of unexpected, serious, and sudden changes. This energy is that of disruption, sweeping -- even catastrophic -- changes and adjustments. Old ideas -- even previous ways of living ... end. This may indicate a breakdown in conditions you'd considered solid, permanent, and reliable. It may be brought about by a sudden insight ... or information you'd not previously known -- or been taking into account.

Realize that dramatic as these experiences may be, they can also usher in times of considerable improvement. You are releasing old ways of life, old habits. This may coincide with a dramatic expansion of consciousness or perspective. There is also the possibility of a disturbing "message of truth" you will have to accommodate. You may find you literally see the world as never before. Your whole picture of reality may be different.

This is a change in your overall view of life and your psychological programming. A basic belief about yourself, your circumstances, and "the way the world works" is in the making. Keep reminding yourself, times of crisis can also be ones of great growth.

Ultimately, you are heading for a resolution where you will be "caught unprepared" for the challenge you are facing. You may be pressured by superior opposition or some kind of competition where you are ill-equipped to prevail. The upshot is, you will not be ready to defend yourself or your position adequately. You may feel threatened, "taken advantage of," and outmaneuvered.

You will be unable or unwilling to do what is needed or successfully confront your adversaries. You may choose to turn and run rather than stand your ground. You may simply lack the courage and willpower to deal with what is present at this point.

This is an energy of feeling anxious, uncomfortable, outnumbered, unpopular, powerless, friendless, and victimized.
