This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are able to make choices and take action. Circumstances may be forcing a move -- or you may just need to do something to break a feeling of impasse and "getting nowhere." At this point, this energy is out in the open ... and you are able to confront its urgings openly and directly.

You are also having to come to terms with the fact you've not yet succeeded in ways that please you on some important project or level of experience. Something you may have been working on for a long time still "falls short" of your goal -- and you'll have to try again to bring this arrangement to a successful completion.

You have someone available to help you with this matter. This person is quick witted, knowledgeable, a person of forceful opinions and intellectual power. He has determination, the deep courage of his convictions, and a willingness to stand up for his ideas and views.

He is honest and communicative, focused and goal-directed when it comes to learning ... and teaching. He is a writer, a thinker, a speaker, a lover of truth. He assertively promotes his opinions, shares what he knows, renders sound judgments, and may be both persuasive and opinionated.

This may be another person, who is able to draw out similar responses and attitudes in you -- or it may be one of your inner selves who has come to the fore in order to be recognized, lend assistance, and work with you for greater strength and mutual development. You understand how to work with this asset -- and are able to do so openly and directly.

This person -- or these attitudes -- are having a significant positive effect on your thinking and your choices at the moment.

A problematic personality or attitude, someone negative, sarcastic, sly, critical, opinionated, argumentative, and undisciplined poses considerable problems for you. This person is superficial, untrustworthy, and uncooperative ... a trouble-maker and a know-it-all. He or she either triggers these attitudes in you ... or you, too, are part of the problem.

These elements and responses may be part of your personality that you need to handle more productively. You may be coping with the results of "bad news" ... or you may be coping with the fact you've been working at cross-purposes with yourself. You are able to work with this truth honestly and out in the open at this point.

You are in conditions of conflict, separation, misunderstanding, and quarrelling -- possibly regarding an important relationship or alliance. The energy of this card is that of "coming apart," and indicates unbalanced relationships, failure to communicate well, failure to understand your partner and his or her needs, and an overall lack of support and appreciation in either direction among you and your associates.

It can also indicate circumstances where someone in a relationship is too possessive, dishonest, too demanding, manipulative, or cold. There is a severe lack of balance and equality in what should be a much more even or independent arrangement.

It indicates arguments, disputes, distrust, unhappiness, loneliness, and "feeling distant" from those who are supposed to care for you -- and about whom you, too, ostensibly care. This is an energy of unhappiness ... and feeling both unloved and unloving. You may not know what to do about this ... or how to compensate for the problems it causes you. You may also not fully understand the extent to which it is influencing and possibly damaging your efforts to resolve the challenges you are coping with.

Soon, you will move into a condition of waiting, listening, indecision, and stasis. This may be a fairly tense time of ambivalence, hanging fire, or feeling you have reached an impasse. Or you may be waiting to see what happens in a situation of stalemate ... where there is no clear winner, no clear victory, and no clear path regarding how to break out of this arrangement.

You will be waiting for direction, waiting for new inspiration, looking for "a sign" about what to do next. You may also be checking your own priorities and options ... or listening to advice and counsel -- both inner and outer. You may be taking in different ideas, considering other points of view, hearing dissent and cautions -- as well as support and agreement.

You may know you need to make an important decision, but postpone action in order to examine both sides of the issue. This is a time of being quiet, pausing, being passive, keeping an open mind, considering your next move, and sorting out what you really think from all the information you are receiving.

You are heading toward a resolution that contains a sense of disappointment ... and discovery, the realization that you "haven't arrived yet" at the destination you now have in mind. Where you will be may, in fact, be the place you were originally heading for ... but with more experience and perspective, you will understand that it is just an interim stage on the way to a much larger goal.

Likely you will feel let down and dissatisfied by this knowledge ... because instead of being at the end!! of this particular endeavor, venture, or project, you are still somewhere in the middle -- with yet more work to accomplish. Another possibility is the discovery that you've achieved something that no longer suits you ... that you really no longer want or can use.

You need to make a major course correction in order to set yourself right on a more productive path ... and that knowledge can be temporarily discouraging. The feeling that goes with this time is that of incompletion and of having "yet another mountain to climb."

True, this may not be the result you were originally hoping for ... but it is a moment of understanding that eventually, you'll have more to show for your work than you expected in the beginning.
