This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

Your situation contains a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This may involve a person who takes too many foolish chances with money, who is wasteful with resources, who often shows addictive behavior, or who is physically ill.

He (or she) may be powerful in your career, business, or financial structures. He may also be "keeping you dependent" for some reason. The attitudes featured here may be dishonesty, shady dealings, "anything for a buck," wastefulness, impracticality, fraudulent ideas and dealings, materialism, workaholism, a lack of scruples, materialism, and an overwhelming concern with status.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not feel there is much you can do to improve the situation -- but at least you are aware this energy exists, that it is a problem, and that you have to compensate for or correct it somehow.

Alternatively: You may need to look carefully at some ideas and practices you have adopted that affect your economic situation, business prospects, financial management, or the way you acquire and use physical resources -- including your own time and energy. Something here needs to be rethought, reworked, or redirected so as to not grossly mismanage your own opportunities and resources.

If you resonate to this interpretation more than to the presence of a difficult person in your life now, consider that this is the meaning the card is offering for you to hear and heed.

Your situation also involves money problems, material hindrance, uncontrolled spending, obstacles, and delays in your financial life. The energy here is that of "not enough money," a shaky position, monetary lack, and feeling victimized, exploited, powerless, and "taken advantage of." You may not have good ways to compensate for this problem ... but at least you recognize it for the handicap it is and are working with its limitations honestly and directly.

You are in a situation where weakness, cowardice, a loss of control, and "taking the easy way out" are on display. This may stem from a lack of self-confidence, self-sabotage, or giving in to pressure and manipulation. You may not see a good way to overcome or compensate for this ... but you are at least dealing with this situation directly, openly, and honestly. It is having a considerable impact on your viewpoints and choices now.

You have a valuable asset in your situation. Someone who is empathetic, supportive, and loving. She (or he) may be dedicated to home, family, friends, and her partner. She is in touch with her feelings and intuitions ... and honors these qualities in others. She brings joy, compassion, and sympathy to situations where her counsel is needed -- and helpful. She uses her emotional empathy to help others find their own answers, their own way, their own destiny.

She is sensitive to her surroundings, and may be creative, artistic, musical, or poetic in her interests. She enjoys serene, tranquil surroundings, and values the time in her own life to dream, imagine, and contemplate. She may support the dreams of others at the expense of her own best interests and development. She is "motherly," insightful, peace-loving, devoted, and faithful.

This may be another person in your situation ... or it may be an important part of your own personality that has come to the fore to help you work with this situation -- and to further its own development for use in the future. You have this resource easily at hand and can use it now to your own best advantage.

You are able to engage emotionally with life again. There are new interests -- or new dimensions of old ones -- available to you. You could find a new momentum as you regain your sense of ambition, set new goals, accept the possibility of new desires, or re-establish your direction but you may not understand this is possible -- or you may not be ready yet. You may still be stuck in a period of complacency, contemplation, inactivity, or even mild boredom.

You need "more action" in your life, a revitalized drive to accomplish something, and the opportunity for new challenges, relationships, excitements projects, opportunities, commitments, and interests. It's time to move on again, and emerge from this place of rest, contentment, and even boredom, but you may not yet realize you are in this phase or grow. You may not see a good way to accomplish it. Or you may be in denial that this is really needed.

Before long, you may meet someone as a result of this situation. It exists in the presence of a powerful person of character and integrity who commands considerable influence and force. This could be another person ... someone whose leadership abilities and dedication to self-actualized goals are a compelling part of his nature, someone who leads by example ... and sets a most impressive tone with the choices he makes in his own life.

This influence, if it comes in another person, is charismatic, effective, authoritative, and brave. He (or she!) is a good counselor and a person of sound moral fortitude. He is someone you can both count on and confide in, independent, responsible, and solid. He will activate some of the best of these qualities in you, and provide an example of how you can grow along these lines, too.

Keep in mind, this energy may exist as a composite of several people ... if you don't see one definite example of this candor and strength among your immediate associates. This powerful influence may also be one of your own inner selves that has come to the forefront of your attention to help you ... and itself ... evolve and improve as you work through this issue.

If you don't find this clearly available in another person or people in your outer world, look within. This energy is waiting to meet you there. It is what will attract these others into your life to act as aids and allies if you need them. It can have a strong influence on your opinions, views, and choices in this matter.

Long-term, you will encounter a personality or a set of attitudes that can be quite positive and helpful. This person is "successful" in the conventional career and financial sense of that word.

He (or she) is a business person, and entrepreneur ... someone who may have sacrificed a great deal for the commercial and professional status he enjoys today. He enjoys staying busy. He sets a practical example for others regarding wealth and the use of material resources -- but he may have neglected his emotional side in pursuit of public honor and regard.

He is a provider, an achiever, someone who enjoys prosperity ... and life's worldly pleasures. He is reliable, steady, solid, even-tempered, conventional practical, and analytical. He places emphasis on efficiency, reality, and having good "business sense." He believes in conservative, old-fashioned values and watching out for "the bottom line."

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that have come to the forefront to help you develop it further. This energy is an asset you can readily use to good advantage.
