This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are coping with a lack of initiative, low energy levels, confusion, low self-esteem, and a sense of defeat. Your situation may also contain attitudes of vanity, arrogance, self-absorption, disagreements, and disappointment. You ... or someone in your situation ... may be trying to control others for your own ends.

This is an energy of depression, narrow-thinking, and emptiness. You may feel a lack of purpose, a lack of creativity, a lack of joy. It is possible you are misusing personal energy ... and yet still not gaining the positive respect or attention of others you are seeking.

You are also in a situation where confusion, indecision, and stagnation prevail. Your own weak will and ineptitude in dealing with this new situation -- or the developments that come in your present situation -- have become a major handicap in your ability to make progress into something better.

You need to cope with a lack of wisdom, shallow and inadequate knowledge, incorrect information, improper focus, a willingness to offer or settle for "easy answers," poor concentration ... and maybe outright lies. This is an energy of mediocrity and incompetence, dancing around the truth, rationalizing, dissembling, covering up, and "putting on a front."

It suggests living in the shallows, being uninspired and uninspiring, being bored and depressed, not sharing what you know ... or not having anything worth sharing. A lack of planning, lack of attention to details, poor organization and initiative, and intellectual pomposity may be on prominent display.

You may find this energy present in another person you have to manage -- or work around. You may also find these qualities in yourself coming out in the open where you have to confront and correct them. Whichever way this happens, you need to get this taken care of.

There is a "personality problem" on the scene, someone malicious, cruel, sarcastic, intolerant, and prone to use his or her superior mental gifts and hurtful tongue as weapons in a situation of "warfare." This may be another person ... or this may be a side of your character, brought out into the open as a result of the stress you are enduring. There is tremendous anger in this person -- and great destructive potential -- but at least they are "out in the open" now where you can face them directly, instead of having constantly to watch your back and wonder what's going on behind the scenes. This person and his or her attitudes are having a substantial influence on your thinking now.

This may be a signal you need to step back, consult your Inner Counselor, and see if there are other options, attitudes, or ideas that you could act on, and that might serve you better in this situation.

You have conditions that let you realize new avenues of emotional satisfaction, find new pleasures and new opportunities for success, enjoy a sense of abundance and excitement again, and rediscover your joy of living. You are able to understand yourself better, to create improved circumstances, and know more about "what makes you happy." You find satisfaction, greater bliss, and discover that harmony is restored after a time of questioning and searching.

You are in conditions of conflict, separation, misunderstanding, and quarrelling -- possibly regarding an important relationship or alliance. The energy of this card is that of "coming apart," and indicates unbalanced relationships, failure to communicate well, failure to understand your partner and his or her needs, and an overall lack of support and appreciation in either direction among you and your associates.

It can also indicate circumstances where someone in a relationship is too possessive, dishonest, too demanding, manipulative, or cold. There is a severe lack of balance and equality in what should be a much more even or independent arrangement.

It indicates arguments, disputes, distrust, unhappiness, loneliness, and "feeling distant" from those who are supposed to care for you -- and about whom you, too, ostensibly care. This is an energy of unhappiness ... and feeling both unloved and unloving. You may not know what to do about this ... or how to compensate for the problems it causes you. You may also not fully understand the extent to which it is influencing and possibly damaging your efforts to resolve the challenges you are coping with.

Soon you will find yourself in circumstances where you feel unhappy, dissatisfied, "incomplete," and strained. You may also have to cope with loneliness or "being in a rut" that keeps you from moving forward to another level of experience and challenge. Possibly there is a chronic problem you haven't solved yet or a situation you haven't yet brought to closure. There is a heavy energy of dissatisfaction that permeates your world ... of something that just isn't yet what you want it to be.

You may want to release something -- but be unable to. Or you may be holding onto something because it is not what you want it to be yet ... and therefore the foundation you need to move on to another level ... or another situation ... isn't in place to support new growth. Either way, this unfinished business ... and the stagnation in which it exists ... represents the "future" of your situation until you figure out how to break the stalemate.

In time, you will reach a resolution where you take charge of your circumstances ... and your life ... and exercise the power, control, and "governing" functions that are truly your right to claim and your responsibility to fulfill. This is a powerful energy of self-mastery, self-control, and achievement. You are in control, giving direction, demanding respect, and exercising wise and proper authority.
