This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are in a situation where you were "caught unprepared" for the challenge you face. You are feeling pressure from superior opposition or some kind of competition where you are ill-equipped to prevail. You are not ready to defend yourself or your position adequately. You feel threatened, "taken advantage of," and outmaneuvered.

You may be unable or unwilling to do what is needed or successfully confront your adversaries. You may choose to turn and run rather than stand your ground. You may simply lack the courage and willpower to deal with what is present. This is an energy of feeling anxious, uncomfortable, outnumbered, unpopular, powerless, friendless, and victimized. You may feel there isn't much you can do to compensate for or correct the situation.

You've come to a point where you can reinstate reality on an intellectual level. This often means someone has owned up to the truth, made amends, and come to terms honestly with what has happened in the past. You may give have given credit to someone you treated unfairly or apologized to someone you harmed. Or someone who has mistreated or slighted you has set the record straight.

Recognition and credit have been given ... if belatedly. Balance is restored. There is greater understanding and honesty in circumstances where misunderstanding, rationalization, deception and even outright lies have previously existed. You can make better, clearer choices -- because at last you're acting on the truth.

You can clarify the information you're working with and allow atonements to happen. You, or someone else, can listen, get the message, learn the lesson, and accept the necessary consequences of past actions. At last, you are no longer fooling yourself, accepting pretty "cover stories," or living in fantasies that have no connection to reality.

It may have been a long unhappy road that brought you here ... but here is a better place to be, and now you can use its advantages to your own benefit.

Your thinking is undergoing a substantial change. Much of the progress may still be internal ... even "unconscious" to a great extent. You may be unaware how much your opinions and views will shift soon in response to outer experiences and requirements ... and vice versa

There is also a problem personality complicating the picture, someone who qualifies as a real trouble-maker. There is a sly cunning to this character, and a secretive, scheming "mean streak" that may make him (or her) particularly hard to get along with. Attitudes of aggression, sarcasm, cynicism, and pettiness dominate -- along with an insufferable spirit of narcissism that may be almost impossible to stomach. You have finally begun to understand how important it is for you to deal with this person ... and the attitudes that accompany him.

Alternatively: You may realize how much you need to focus on your own unproductive ideas, opinions, beliefs, and prejudices ... and make some corrections in the way you view and handle this matter so as to stop being part of the problem instead of part of the solution. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult "other person" as described above, this is likely the message this card is offering to you.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own thinking, opinions, and the way you express your ideas. You may be acting on wrong information. Your prejudices or a serious misunderstanding of the facts could be having too much influence on your thinking. You may be pushing your opinions too hard and alienating others from considering your views objectively. You may realize you've been too one-sided in your thinking or that you haven't been listening well.

You may have decided to pull back for a while and reconsider some of your stronger views and the way you express them that could actually be either misguided ... or hurting your own cause. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

You are in a situation that involves confusion, anxiety, and upset. You may not know what to do or what to think. Your direction is unclear ... and you may have no good answers for the problems that still face you. This energy is the feeling of being "locked in," trapped, unable to accomplish anything to put your troubles behind you. You need to rethink your choices ... and change some of your fundamental attitudes. You may not have information you need ... or some of your thinking may be skewed and unproductive.

You feel irritated, exasperated, unable to find meaning -- or clarity. This is the sensation of trying to swim against the current ... and needing to make major adjustments in your opinions, ideas, viewpoints, and intellectual positions. You may not see a good way out of this dilemma at the moment ... or ways to compensate for the problems it is causing you. You may also be in denial about just how seriously you are being hampered by the circumstances that exist here ... and your responses to them.

Soon you will find yourself in circumstances where you feel unhappy, dissatisfied, "incomplete," and strained. You may also have to cope with loneliness or "being in a rut" that keeps you from moving forward to another level of experience and challenge. Possibly there is a chronic problem you haven't solved yet or a situation you haven't yet brought to closure. There is a heavy energy of dissatisfaction that permeates your world ... of something that just isn't yet what you want it to be.

You may want to release something -- but be unable to. Or you may be holding onto something because it is not what you want it to be yet ... and therefore the foundation you need to move on to another level ... or another situation ... isn't in place to support new growth. Either way, this unfinished business ... and the stagnation in which it exists ... represents the "future" of your situation until you figure out how to break the stalemate.

Ultimately, you will have to cope with someone who has a very impaired sense of self-discipline and a suspicious sense of morality. He may be known for running his "con games" ... both literal and emotional as a tactic for manipulating people and getting his own way. He is dishonest, shady, and out to feather his own nest. He may also be given to addictive habits and patterns. He is always looking for his own advantage ... and that may be all he's interested in.

He will compromise his conscience for gain ... and the exploitation of others. He takes advantage of people's generosity and compassion ... and manipulates them by appealing to their guilt, pity, or their own ideals and better natures. He is very troubled emotionally -- and while he may put on a good front, his personal life is chaotic and undisciplined.

He may make a big show of "helping other people" ... when he should be paying attention to -- and working on -- his own problems. He may play up his "sensitive and caring nature" ... and the fact that his feelings can be easily hurt -- as a way of gaining control over others. The fact is, he is closed, manipulative, and stingy. The sympathy and help he offers is usually bogus ... and the support he tenders will collapse if others really lean on him ... or try to rely on what he offers.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected, that have come to the fore for attention or adjustment.
