This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You recognize that an exciting new period of growth and expansion is at hand. This represents a very positive change in your circumstances and a definite upward trend in the issues you are coping with.

You are also in a time of unexpected, serious, and sudden changes. This energy is that of disruption, sweeping -- even catastrophic -- changes and adjustments. Old ideas -- even previous ways of living ... are coming to an end. This may indicate a breakdown in conditions you'd considered solid, permanent, and reliable. It may be brought about by a sudden insight ... or information you'd not previously known -- or been taking into account.

Realize that dramatic as these experiences may be, they can also usher in times of considerable improvement. You are releasing old ways of life, old habits. This may coincide with a dramatic expansion of consciousness or perspective. There is also the possibility of a disturbing "message of truth" you will have to accommodate. You may find you literally see the world as never before. Your whole picture of reality may be different.

This is a change in your overall view of life and your psychological programming. A basic belief about yourself, your circumstances, and "the way the world works" is in the making. Keep reminding yourself, times of crisis can also be ones of great growth. At least you are able to work with this energy openly and directly.

You are involved in experiences that include serious quarrelling, anxiety, and deep philosophical disagreement. This is an extremely disagreeable situation, containing, as it does, elements of defeat, unfairness, failure, slander, cruelty, cowardliness, and malice. You may feel you have been treated unfairly ... or realize that you have done so to others. (Possibly both.)

This is a situation of insensitivity, fear, the realization that you are not following your conscience -- if you pause long enough to rationally consider what is happening here. You are pushing an issue ... or using force ... to no good avail, often to avoid changing your mind about something dear or important to you. Or you are feeling coerced and pressured to change your opinions ... or surrender your ideas ... by circumstances or another person.

This is an energy of victimization, and because energy is always a two way street, you may be either the victim, the perpetrator, or quite likely ... both. You may have to cope with feelings of revenge, the consequences of your self-defeating actions, or the consequences of ruthless responses.

Even "winning" here gains you nothing but an empty victory. You are likely locked into circumstances which involve mind games, game-playing, scoring points, getting even, and working to get "one up" on someone else -- and vice versa. You need desperately to change your thinking.

You may not see a good way out of this situation ... or how to compensate well for the considerable problems this is causing you, but at least at this point, you understand the seriousness of these complications and are working directly and consciously to see what can be done with them. This has your full attention now ... and you realize the ways this affects your thinking and the choices you make as a result.

You are in a situation that places an extremely heavy emphasis on material success, money, public status, and "creating the right image." This may involve experiences of serious discontent, depression, and even illness -- as this represents an extraordinary perversion of the natural desire for safety, honor, and respect. This energy turns the need for fame, reputation, achievement, and respect into an obsession ... which will stoop to force, coercion, manipulation, exploitation, and abuse in order to accomplish its ends.

This represents action without understanding, without compassion, without accountability, and without considering the results and effects of what one has set in motion. It often involved someone's overweening ego ... and actions taken out of inordinate pride or in order to "save face" or gain importance. There is a lack of consideration, a pervasive attitude of selfishness and concern for appearances that creates a miserable existence.

Life at this point is seriously off track and out of kilter -- and a major crash in order to make a course correction in these circumstances may loom before too long. You may be either the victim or the perpetrator of these conditions ... but regardless of which side of the equation you fall on, you need to get this fixed -- for everyone's sake.

You do harm even to the one you allow to treat you this way if you let this arrangement continue. You will do untold harm to yourself if you are the one putting this deplorable situation into motion in the first place. You may not see a good way out of this mess ... or how to compensate for the problems it is causing, but at least at this point you do understand this is happening ... and that it needs to be corrected ASAP. You are able to deal with this matter openly and directly now.

You have been forced into a lonely, isolated position ... probably for your own eventual good, but you may not like this at all. This may be the result of your failure to listen to good advice and wisdom -- especially that of your own conscience. You may have to consider this a lesson in your ongoing development .. a way to deepen your maturity and your connection to your own Inner Wisdom.

You may, however, need to confront your own foolish vices and choices, your childish dependencies, and your stubborn refusal to learn. Possibly your refusal (or failure) to share your ideas -- or hear the voice of your own inner wisdom has brought you to an impasse. You will need to get back in touch with your true essence ... and give up your absorption with ego concerns and transient matters in the outer world.

You may not yet know how to overcome this condition, use this situation to good advantage, or compensate for the problems it causes you. You may also be in denial about the meaning of this arrangement ... or the extent to which your habits and attitudes are hindering you.

Soon, you will move into a condition of waiting, listening, indecision, and stasis. This may be a fairly tense time of ambivalence, hanging fire, or feeling you have reached an impasse. Or you may be waiting to see what happens in a situation of stalemate ... where there is no clear winner, no clear victory, and no clear path regarding how to break out of this arrangement.

You will be waiting for direction, waiting for new inspiration, looking for "a sign" about what to do next. You may also be checking your own priorities and options ... or listening to advice and counsel -- both inner and outer. You may be taking in different ideas, considering other points of view, hearing dissent and cautions -- as well as support and agreement.

You may know you need to make an important decision, but postpone action in order to examine both sides of the issue. This is a time of being quiet, pausing, being passive, keeping an open mind, considering your next move, and sorting out what you really think from all the information you are receiving.

Ultimately you are moving to a resolution where you encounter dishonesty in what you say, think, believe ... or are told. The information you are working with will be unreliable ... possibly by "putting a better face" on rather unpleasant facts. This is an energy of self-sabotage, of being complicit in your own undoing, of letting yourself be talked into something when you know better -- by accepting excuses, rationalizations, and pretty cover stories. You may even be making these up and telling them to yourself. You may learn in time you have been your own worst enemy by adopting this strategy.

This card depicts reaping the consequences of past bad actions, lies -- perhaps ones you have told yourself or lulled yourself into believing, not paying close attention to what really matters, making decisions based on wishful thinking or deceitful information, weaseling, and either trying to get away with something ... or letting somebody else get away with something -- again, when you really know better than to trust what is happening here.

This is literally an energy of theft and deception. You ... or someone else ... is trying to gain something you have not earned (which could be money, possessions, position, status, regard, or "credit" for something that doesn't really belong to you), are using sweet-talk and fabrications to support your claim, or are playing head games and trying to pull a fast one. Something about the way you think about, work with, and report this situation needs to be corrected -- and fast.
