This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are coping with a lack of initiative, low energy levels, confusion, low self-esteem, and a sense of defeat. Your situation may also contain attitudes of vanity, arrogance, self-absorption, disagreements, and disappointment. You ... or someone in your situation ... may be trying to control others for your own ends.

This is an energy of depression, narrow-thinking, and emptiness. You may feel a lack of purpose, a lack of creativity, a lack of joy. It is possible you are misusing personal energy ... and yet still not gaining the positive respect or attention of others you are seeking.

You have reached a period when it is appropriate to stop, pause, consider, analyze, examine your situation, weigh your options, judge your resources and assets, confirm your allies and partnerships, and test your own desire and determination.

You need to compare your visions and ambitions against what is realistic and possible ... to see if you have any substantial flaws caused by your own enthusiasm that you need to consider or correct before you go any farther. This is a time of "going through your check list" ... to make sure everything you need is in place for the journey ahead -- including your own resolve to launch new efforts and see them through to completion.

You need to consider "what it takes to succeed here," get feedback and ideas from others, talk things over, listen to the consultation and advice of people you trust -- and who may be companions on this journey, too. Go over your plans one more time ... and get ready to make your moves.

This time may feel like things are "stopped dead still' and that you are "waiting" for something (which may not be easy if your temperament doesn't take well to the advice that you "hold your horses" and "have a little patience") -- but this is an essential part of a successful venture. Jumping the gun, when a little more time would pay off handsomely, is a terrible waste ... of everything.

You are coping with adversity, obstacles, and possibly a lack of preparation for what you have undertaken. To complicate matters, however, you are not fighting for what is right, not standing up for yourself, remaining weak and vulnerable, and bending under the considerable pressure of your circumstances. You may be dealing with a problem you thought was already "solved."

You may also be allowing yourself to be bullied or "run over." You are overwhelmed, dealing with circumstances you aren't really ready to face, and may be blind-sided before long because you are trying to "be nice," make excuses or "look the other way." You are aware of this problem and the impact it has on your thinking and choices ... and finding solutions to its difficulties and inconveniences are very much on your mind.

A major stumbling block you face, however, appears to be a person does not accept opposition well, who isn't overly helpful or sympathetic, who may have the idea that his way is the only way. Attitudes of intolerance, self-righteousness, narrow-mindedness, and willful dominance pollute the atmosphere ... coming either from you or from someone else, and possibly both. This may be having more of a destructive influence than you realize at the moment, but you are getting a better grip on the dimensions of this particular challenge.

Alternatively: You may have to reconsider the direction you are taking and the kind of leadership you are offering yourself with your choices and goals. Something about your vision and ambitions may be off-track -- either in the intensity with which you are pursuing wrong-headed decisions or the lack of commitment you have to your own declared intentions.

You face difficult choices because of conflicting needs and elements that don't accommodate one another well at all. You may not have a firm grasp on all your options, or you may not yet have seen a way to achieve a decent compromise. You may also be in denial about just how much your ambivalence and dithering are impeding your progress.

Soon, you will meet experiences that include serious quarrelling, anxiety, and deep philosophical disagreement. This is an extremely disagreeable situation, containing, as it does, elements of defeat, unfairness, failure, slander, cruelty, cowardliness, and malice. You may feel you have been treated unfairly ... or realize that you have done so to others. (Possibly both.)

This is a situation of insensitivity, fear, the realization that you are not following your conscience -- if you pause long enough to rationally consider what is happening here. You are pushing an issue ... or using force ... often to no good avail, often to avoid changing your mind about something dear or important to you. Or you are feeling coerced and pressured to change your opinions ... or surrender your ideas ... by circumstances or another person.

This is an energy of victimization, and because energy is always a two way street, you may be either the victim, the perpetrator, or quite likely ... both. You may have to cope with feelings of revenge, the consequences of your self-defeating actions, or the consequences of ruthless responses.

Even "winning" here gains you nothing but an empty victory. You are likely locked into circumstances which involve mind games, game-playing, scoring points, getting even, and working to get "one up" on someone else -- and vice versa. You need desperately to change your thinking.

You are ultimately heading for an experience of emotional loss -- perhaps something from your past or part of your personal history that shows up again to haunt you. This may be something you know to expect -- something you have been able to predict, because the pain of this encounter is lessened somehow by its familiarity. This is a sad place you've walked through before -- perhaps in other guises ... but you know how this song goes -- and, worse, how it ends.

The feelings here are regret, resignation, sorrow -- but with a sense of "déjà vu". As I said ... you've been through this -- or coped with it -- before This may be a lesson you need to meet one more time -- as a way of helping you finally find the ways to get past it!! However, despite the brave front you may manage to put on ... this is still something that could hurt -- more than you realize.
