You also face a situation where a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes have considerable influence. This may involve someone who has -- or causes -- chronic financial problems, someone who is impractical, irresponsible, physically lazy, and who "uses" people ... especially to his own financial advantage.

You may also face attitudes that are unethical, calculating, financially stingy -- or financially greedy, and where "doing things the easy way" is a primary concern. Accommodating this person may be chronically costly to your career progress, your pocketbook, and your physical health.

Because energy is always a two-way street -- this may represent another person in your situation, or it may be a side of your personality you are reluctant to confront or control. You may not even want to admit it exists.

Alternatively: This card can indicate you need to do some serious work to refocus your thinking about money, business decisions, commercial transactions, and the use of time and other resources. It can mean a new way of conducting your financial life and managing your economic situation is waiting to unfold ... and you need to do the inner work -- and the groundwork -- to discover it.

If the description of the difficult personality above doesn't seem to fit your circumstances, or if this interpretation resonates more emphatically with the situation you are handling, then consider this to be the message the card is offering you.

You are in circumstances of happiness, support, positive relationships, stable emotional conditions, and tremendous satisfaction. Life is reliable, predictable, secure, peaceful, good. This is a time when you can rely on your feelings, know what to expect, what you can count on, and who your "friends" are. This is an asset you can use to tremendous advantage now. This outlook has tremendous impact on your thinking and the choices you are able to make in dealing with your issue.

You will bring this matter to a successful conclusion. You realize this. You are able to consciously work to make this happen. You know how to go about accomplishing success now.

You are in a situation of wandering, confusion, dissatisfaction, and emotional burn-out. This is an energy of disappointment, inertia, and stagnation ... where you wind up asking, "Is this all there is?" You know you want something "more" ... that this result is not the answer you're after, that you require something with deeper meaning, more engagement, more stimulation and excitement.

The result may well be "starting over," undergoing a reasonably serious identity crisis -- and maybe a time of depression as you decide to abandon what success you've achieved here ... or the relationships you've formed and commitments you've made in order to move on to something else. You may not see a good way to overcome or compensate for the hazards of this situation ... or you may be in denial about the seriousness of this need, the inevitability of this decision. For some reason, however, you are reluctant to act on this message.

Soon, you will find yourself in conditions of self-indulgence, laziness, lack of focus, and stagnation. Your creativity may be on hold ... or you will find yourself drifting emotionally. You may feel a loss of focus or lack of connection in your social life, friendships, and relationships.

You will need new interests, new opportunities for growth, new projects to excite your soul. You and others may be taking each other for granted. You may be unsatisfied with the love and support levels available to you. You may feel friendless and isolated ... and while you may put on a good front -- that's what it is. A front.

In time, you will meet a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This person is wasteful, careless with money, possibly too materialistic or too easily impressed with status symbols. He (or she) is without practical direction, may not show much common sense, may lack "a good head for business," and may be in constant financial distress as a result. This person may also be physically ill -- most likely from poor lifestyle choices.

This is someone who doesn't learn ... even from his own mistakes -- of which there may be plenty to choose from as examples of how not to behave. The attitudes present here are hedonistic, vain, status-conscious, contrary, extravagant, impractical, self-absorbed, and unwilling to listen to the voice of experience.

This may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality you need to confront and correct.
