This is a reading on your economic situation at the moment. It deals with the investments, spending habits, management of income, use of possessions, and other physical resources which are central to your interest at this time. Because it deals with material assets, its information can also be applied to issues involving your health.

You are coping with someone who does not react well when his ideas are challenged or his opinions questioned. He (or she) is very forceful in his thinking ... but also very closed-minded and rigid. He may blame others rather than seek solutions, fail to show leadership, and fail to accept responsibility for the problems he creates with his attitudes ... and manner.

He is stern, strict, cruel, unjust, and uncaring. He may trigger these same responses in you -- or this energy may well be an inner part of you that comes to the surface to be noticed and adjusted. You may not see a good way to neutralize or compensate for the problems this person causes -- but at least the matter is out in the open where you can deal with its stresses honestly. You are very aware of the influence this is injecting into your situation.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own thinking, opinions, and the way you express your ideas. You may be acting on wrong information. Your prejudices or a serious misunderstanding of the facts could be having too much influence on your thinking. You may be pushing your opinions too hard and alienating others from considering your views objectively. You may realize you've been too one-sided in your thinking or that you haven't been listening well.

You may have decided to pull back for a while and reconsider some of your stronger views and the way you express them that could actually be either misguided ... or hurting your own cause. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

There is also a "personality problem" on the scene, someone malicious, cruel, sarcastic, intolerant, and prone to use his or her superior mental gifts and hurtful tongue as weapons in a situation of "warfare."

This may be another person ... or this may be a side of your character, brought out into the open as a result of the stress you are enduring.

There is tremendous anger in this person -- and great destructive potential -- but at least they are "out in the open" now where you can face them directly, instead of having constantly to watch your back and wonder what's going on behind the scenes.

Alternatively: This card can mean that you have decided to step back, go inward, and consult your Inner Scholar about the best course of action to take ... and how to handle the challenges you are facing at the moment. If you resonate more to this meaning than to the presence of a difficult personality or counterproductive attitude such as those described above, it is likely this is the suggestion the card has for you now -- to help you deal with this energy more productively.

You are having to cope with a lack in the quality or quantity of support you need to create the vision you have in mind. You may be teamed up with colleagues and allies that simply aren't up to the task at hand. Someone you depend on may let you down with a thud -- or some crucial element in your creation will not arrive or will not perform as required. You realize how crippling or awkward this situation is to your progress, and you have put your mind and information to work handling the challenges it presents.

A time of major change is definitely underway. You may want to deny this ... even though it's been going on so long it hardly qualifies as "news" any more. You may also be resisting the adjustments that will eventually be necessary. It's possible you still don't realize the dimensions of what's involved here, but working with this energy instead of against it might be a better strategy.

You are in a situation that is balanced, stable, successful, and "complete but not satisfying." This energy contains feelings of boredom, stagnation, discontent, lack of motivation, and even mild depression. You need to re-evaluate your position, your priorities, potentials, relationships, needs, and desires. It is time to look inward, see how you need to re-engage with life, break up some of your familiar but stale routines, and find a new situation where you are doing more than treading water and "going through the motions."

You may not see a way to accomplish this ... or compensate for the problems it is causing you. You may also be in denial about the handicap this represents now in your life.

Soon, you will find yourself in conditions of self-indulgence, laziness, lack of focus, and stagnation. Your creativity may be on hold ... or you will find yourself drifting emotionally. You may feel a loss of focus or lack of connection in your social life, friendships, and relationships.

You will need new interests, new opportunities for growth, new projects to excite your soul. You and others may be taking each other for granted. You may be unsatisfied with the love and support levels available to you. You may feel friendless and isolated ... and while you may put on a good front -- that's what it is. A front.

A time of major change is definitely underway. It may be so preliminary you may not have recognized it yet. You may also be resisting the adjustments that will eventually be necessary. For the moment it is either still so subtle you don't realize its dimensions ... or it is so awesome in its implications you prefer to "look the other way" for a while.
