This is a reading on your relationships -- describing the major theme of your association with other people right now. This includes partners, friends, parents, children, other family members, and all others who are contained in the relationships that have your attention now.

You are in circumstances where money is a problem. This experience may have cost you more than you expected, or money you were counting on may have evaporated or not arrived, or a lack of resources is playing a pivotal part in what you are coping with now.

You need to be cautious and conservative concerning money, financial arrangements, investments, the use of resources and possessions, and your channels of income.

Beware of believing promises that may let you down seriously if they don't materialize. You need to control your expenses ... and know where your money is coming from as well as where it is going.

Alternatively: This card can indicate a time when you are reorganizing your spending habits, probably in response to changes in your personal values. You may be bringing your financial transactions into closer alignment with your ideas and beliefs.

There is also a problem personality complicating the picture, someone who qualifies as a real trouble-maker. There is a sly cunning to this character, and a secretive, scheming "mean streak" that may make him (or her) particularly hard to get along with. Attitudes of aggression, sarcasm, cynicism, and pettiness dominate -- along with an insufferable spirit of narcissism that may be almost impossible to stomach.

Alternatively: You may need to refocus on your own thinking, opinions, and the way you express your ideas. You may be acting on wrong information. Your prejudices or a serious misunderstanding of the facts could be having too much influence on your thinking. You may be pushing your opinions too hard and alienating others from considering your views objectively. You may realize you've been too one-sided in your thinking or that you haven't been listening well.

You may have decided to pull back for a while and reconsider some of your stronger views and the way you express them that could actually be either misguided ... or hurting your own cause. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person or unproductive set of personal attitudes, consider that this is the message the card is giving you on the matter at hand.

You are dealing with the results of foolish choices, wrong choices, choices based on fear and despair ... or where you simply refused to commit to a solid course of action, one way or the other. You may feel paralyzed, depressed, stalled, pessimistic ... and even paranoid.

You need to be open to new possibilities. You may have closed down several possible productive alternatives. You need to open up and see what arrives for your further consideration. You may not have the right attitude. You may not be open to success. You may be too much of a "reactor" rather than an actor in your life.

This may not be your most productive arrangement by any means. You need to rethink your situation -- considerably. You do. However, have this problem out in the open where you can see its effects ... and work with it consciously and deliberately. It may be a handicap, but at least it's not unfolding behind your back. It has your attention now ... front and center.

You are coping with a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This person is wasteful, careless with money, possibly too materialistic or too easily impressed with status symbols. He (or she) is without practical direction, may not show much common sense, may lack "a good head for business," and may be in constant financial distress as a result. This person may also be physically ill -- most likely from poor lifestyle choices.

This is someone who doesn't learn ... even from his own mistakes -- of which there may be plenty to choose from as examples of how not to behave. The attitudes present here are hedonistic, vain, status-conscious, contrary, extravagant, impractical, self-absorbed, and unwilling to listen to the voice of experience.

This may come in the form of another person -- or it may be parts of your own personality you need to confront and correct. You may not feel there is much you can do to correct or compensate for the problems this person or this part of yourself presents, but at this point you at least understand what is going on and are able to confront the matter openly and directly -- for all the good it may do.

Alternatively: You may need to step back, go inward, an reconnect with your own common sense. You may also need to rethink some matter involving your career, business life, or commercial enterprises. You may need to learn some thing you don't know at the moment ... or implement some strategies you have only begun to discover. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person -- or a counter-productive set of attitudes, consider this is the message the card intends to deliver to you now.

You are coping with a problematic personality or a counter-productive set of attitudes. This may involve someone who has -- or causes -- chronic financial problems, someone who is impractical, irresponsible, physically lazy, and who "uses" people ... especially to his own financial advantage.

Your situation may also contain attitudes that are unethical, calculating, financially stingy -- or financially greedy, and where "doing things the easy way" is a primary concern. Accommodating him (or her!) may be chronically costly to your career progress, your pocketbook, and your physical health.

Because energy is always a two-way street -- this may represent another person in your situation, or it may be a side of your personality you are reluctant to confront or control. You may not even want to admit it exists. You may not realize how much this person ... or these attitudes ... are costing you now. Or you may not see a good way to correct or compensate for them.

Alternatively: This card can indicate you need to do some serious work to refocus your thinking about money, business decisions, commercial transactions, and the use of time and other resources. It can mean a new way of conducting your financial life and managing your economic situation is waiting to unfold ... and you need to do the inner work -- and the groundwork -- to discover it.

If the description of the difficult personality above doesn't seem to fit your circumstances, or if this interpretation resonates more emphatically with the situation you are handling, then consider this to be the message the card is offering you.

Soon, you will encounter a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This person is lazy, dishonest, a swindler, a fraud. He (or she) is irresponsible, manipulative, overly concerned with creature comforts or "taking the easy way out." He is self-indulgent, a "taker," a false friend .. and an emotional drain on those around him.

Attitudes present here include insincerity, "living in a dream world," wanting others to take care of him or rescue him, and being focused only on how he can "use" people. This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected.

In the long-term, you are moving into circumstances that involve abundant emotional support, happiness, joy, love, and possibly a new relationship, partner, or ally.
