This is a reading on the general conditions of your Life.

Your situation contains a problematic personality or set of counter-productive attitudes. This may involve a person who takes too many foolish chances with money, who is wasteful with resources, who often shows addictive behavior, or who is physically ill.

He (or she) may be powerful in your career, business, or financial structures. He may also be "keeping you dependent" for some reason. The attitudes featured here may be dishonesty, shady dealings, "anything for a buck," wastefulness, impracticality, fraudulent ideas and dealings, materialism, workaholism, a lack of scruples, materialism, and an overwhelming concern with status.

This may be present in the form of another person -- or it may represent parts of your character that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not feel there is much you can do to improve the situation -- but at least you are aware this energy exists, that it is a problem, and that you have to compensate for or correct it somehow.

Alternatively: You may need to look carefully at some ideas and practices you have adopted that affect your economic situation, business prospects, financial management, or the way you acquire and use physical resources -- including your own time and energy. Something here needs to be rethought, reworked, or redirected so as to not grossly mismanage your own opportunities and resources.

If you resonate to this interpretation more than to the presence of a difficult person in your life now, consider that this is the meaning the card is offering for you to hear and heed.

You are also coping with a problem personality -- or destructive set of attitudes. This person is domineering, obstinate, vengeful, cruel. She (or he!) places too much emphasis on her own image -- and is insecure in this identity. She is insincere, shallow, condescending, jealous ... and may pick at or find fault with others in order to undermine their confidence. This may be a tactic to build up her own flagging, unsteady self-image.

This person is also demanding, petty, rigid, vain, lacking in compassion and sympathy. Her attitudes are narrow-minded, bitter, controlling, ruthlessly competitive, and angry. She is self-absorbed, self-centered, and may be given to "ambushing" people -- as a tactic for gaining power. About the best that can be said of this energy is ... it's out in the open where you can work with and confront it directly. It's very easy to spot it ... and tell what's going on.

This may, indeed, be another person you have to cope with -- or it may be an inner personality of yours that is causing trouble, and that has come to the surface now so you can confront and correct its counterproductive effects.

Alternatively: This may be a signal you need to turn inward and reconnect with the inner self that provides confidence, leadership, and support for your sense of who you are and what you can do. This may require some deliberate effort and a recognition that you are badly out of touch with these important character components. If you resonate to this meaning more strongly than to the presence of a difficult person -- or a counter-productive set of attitudes, consider this is the message the card intends to deliver to you now.

You are dealing with significantly changed circumstances ... ones that result from a long process of evolution and development. They are connected to internal changes in you, with a clear relationship between inner changes having caused outer changes ... and outer changes prompting even more inner ones. This shift in the paradigm of your life is still in progress -- but at this point you are able to deal openly and directly with the ramifications. You also understand these new arrangements are influencing to a great extent the ideas you have and the choices you make.

You are in circumstances where a lack of money, possessions, or other resources is causing you concern You may also have health or lifestyle issues that need to be addressed and corrected. You may not yet see a good way to compensate for this ... but at least you understand the extent of the problem at this point and are working directly on the need to correct it.

You are in a situation that contains heartbreak, sorrow, abuse, setbacks, and shattered emotions. This situation may also hold a lack of appreciation, betrayal, injury, separation, grief, and terrible disappointment. While on the surface this energy represents the heart and head at odds with one another ... the reality is often extremely painful.

Far more upsetting than your thoughts telling you one thing and your heart another, this energy usually contains disbelief that you have been treated so badly by someone you care for ... and the realization that you have to get over loving and needing someone who could hurt you this way.

This energy is that of being victimized, harmed, even brutalized physically or emotionally. It may also indicate you have done this to somebody else ... but either way there are karmic liabilities contained here -- and the eventual, inevitable backlash may be pretty severe. This may be part of the current day conditions ... or it may be problems held over from an old piece of abusive personal history.

You may not realize you need to watch out for abuse in this situation ... or you may not realize you need to heal from past hurts to the extent you do. Somehow, you are not dealing with this matter as directly, consciously, or openly as you need to ... either because you don't see its evidence yet, or you are in denial about how seriously it is undermining you.

Soon, you will face a set of problems caused by someone who is immature, who has a bad self-image, a negative attitude, or no self-confidence or motivation. This may be another person who has influence in your situation ... or it may be a part of yourself you are having to cope with and realign.

Long term, a moment of ingenious inspiration awaits your arrival ... an idea that may hit you like a lightning strike, it is so powerful ... and potentially significant.
