Capricorn Question
This reading deals with the constructive use of Capricorn energy --
an underlying concern of life for everyone at this time.

What is the one most important thing, the one primary piece of advice we need to keep in mind as we work to manifest our Capricorn career ambitions in the year ahead?

This card offers advice about "holding on to what you have," owning that which is really yours, and making sure you stabilize and care for yourself physically and financially. It reminds us that "looking out for Number One" is a prerequisite to being able to care for anyone else at all ... and that such self-care is a person's first and most important responsibility.

It indicates a need to achieve or reinforce your existing material stability, professional competence, career recognition, and financial success. You may not be wildly wealthy, but you have a good sense of what you can do, what you can offer, how you are able to use your talents and resources to good advantage.

It also tells you to hold on to what you've earned. The Four of Pentacles carries a sense of defensiveness and even mild paranoia regarding money and health issues. Things are not so fine and comfortable that you can take them for granted at this point. Indeed, you may not even be able to relax in the conventional meaning of that word and just "coast a while." The success you've established, while solid, is still too new to be a habit -- and the memories of how you struggled and how much work it took to even get here in the first place are still mighty fresh in your mind.

You are also advised to defend and claim the success and the accomplishments that are yours, to realize the value they represent (including the value of experience and stamina), and to be ready to build on these in the future. You still need to be vigilant. You still need to be cautious. You still need to make wise, prudent choices. Your past efforts have gained you what amounts to a nice reliable foundation to work with. Don't let your hard-won victory slip away.

And if you still need to find such a place for yourself, keep plugging away until you do so.
