The Bright Idea

Try a tarot reading technique called The Bright Idea.

Swords (or spears or lightning bolts) correspond to the Air element, the Tarot suit concerned with all issues dealing with thought, communication, consciousness, information, and intellect ... all, essentially, "matters of the mind."

Sometimes we know we're caught in a brain fog, locked in tunnel-vision, and unable to see the forest for the trees, but we have no idea how to break out of the corner and get a new perspective. The Tarot was literally designed to stimulate new and innovative thinking, to point out issues to consider, new possibilities, and hand you A-HA!! moments when insight hits you like a bolt from the blue. (You know those moments ... when suddenly in a flash, the solution to your problem is all so clear you can't believe it took you this long to see it.)

To use this technique, shuffle and cut your cards according to your usual habits, holding a request for useful information and comment from the Tarot about ideas, opinions, perspectives, viewpoints, the discovery and use of helpful information, communications matters ... the question you most want answered to start seeing your problem from a different angle, getting a suggestion on how your own flawed mindset may be a big part of the problem, or just generally asking for "a sign" of what your most profitable next path of exploration on this matter should be.
