These, or very similar experiences, are some of the possibilities for the week ahead.

This may be a week where not much happens -- mostly because you are depleted, stuck, tired, and lacking in energy and initiative.

It's a week when the lack of fulfillment and depression you have to contend with can spark new ideas about what to do differently, what you need to change, and what could be a new road to explore -- but the problem is, this comes in response to feeling exhausted, discouraged, and generally "down and out." It's ultimately a good result, but it can be a most lousy way to get there.

You may have to cope with a serious sense of "defeat." Often this card appears when the methods and means we've used in the past to get needs met and gain desires -- just quit working completely, and we have to come up with new tricks and new viewpoints in order to make the new beginning this card promises ... along with all this less-than-pleasant prelude.

New beginnings come at a price ... and often that price is the realization that the old ways just don't serve their purpose (or sometimes ANY purpose!!) any longer. This is usually not welcome news -- but it does usher in important changes and innovations that you might never have been prompted to find -- or create -- otherwise.

One other thing to keep in mind this week ... the outside world is liable to mirror your inner confusion in ways that seem particularly inconvenient. Disagreements, misunderstandings, and disappointments may seem intent on adding insult to injury right now.

And you may have less than normal patience with the vanity, arrogance, egotism, and pompousness of people around you -- particularly people who seem to have all the answers, but whom you strongly suspect don't ask or wrestle with the kinds of questions that now seem so pressing and epidemic for you.
