Jupiter and The Wheel of Fortune
This information applies particularly to you and your concerns:
- If you are a Sagittarius Sun Sign
- If you have a Sagittarius Moon or Ascendant
- If you have your ruling planet (the ruler of your Sun Sign) in Sagittarius
- If you have your chart ruler (the ruler of the sign on your Ascendant) in Sagittarius
- If you have one or more planets in the 9th House of your Natal Chart
- Wherever you have Sagittarius on the cusp of a Natal Chart house
- In the issues ruled by the Natal Chart house where Natal Jupiter resides
- In the issues ruled by the Natal Chart house where Jupiter is transiting now

As a Sagittarius, The Wheel of Fortune card -- associated with Jupiter, your ruling planet -- is an additional source of wisdom and strength, a piece of power for you to use -- and certainly keep in mind, as you work through this life to the fulfillment of your destiny.
Most Tarot decks show The Wheel of Fortune as an image reminiscent of a roulette wheel, a gambling device on which many a fortune has been won and lost. It certainly calls to mind Sagittarius' reputation for launching speculative ventures, taking risks, and gambling -- and the ups and downs, the peaks and valleys of fortune that go with that lifestyle -- and those habits.
If you are a Sagittarius, this figure, this archetype, and the meaning behind it ... issues that center on learning how to work with Fate, to manage Fortune, how to bounce back when you lose your shirt and how to not overstep yourself so often by counting so much on luck and everything going right ... are your source of inner fuel, the director of your perspectives and the "tool" you can use to handle these experiences as they are introduced into your life. They also are part of your "life's mission."
As a Sagittarius with The Wheel of Fortune as your companion, your source of inner strength, you are working with some of the following major life themes as your destiny unfolds:

Rebecca BrentsStepping Stones is a Tarot feature for the Premium Members. A Stepping Stones reading is a five card Tarot reading that provides information on the issue you want to examine.
Each month, Stepping Stones examines an issue pertinent to the interests of the current Zodiac sign. A pre-determined question or request to the Tarot focuses attention ... and asks for comment on ... a personal quality pivotal to the proper use of this sign's energy in your life. (We all use all the signs every day to operate at prime strength and efficiency!!)
Like Milestones, it's a "once a month" deal ... and adds encouragement, correction and support to the matter contained in the more extensive Milestones reading ... literally a "stepping stone" you can use to get from where you are to the next phase of your development.
Working with the developmental phases of Milestones and now Stepping Stones, you can better work with the flow of natural energy moving from one stage of your personal growth to the next, on up the spiral of perspective and wisdom.
The Stepping Stones issue for this month is
Spiritual Integrity.

Sagittarius and Temperance
This information applies particularly to you and your concerns:
- If you are a Sagittarius Sun Sign
- If you have a Sagittarius Moon or Ascendant
- If you have your ruling planet (the ruler of your Sun Sign) in Sagittarius
- If you have your chart ruler (the ruler of the sign on your Ascendant) in Sagittarius
- If you have one or more planets in the 9th House of your Natal Chart
- Wherever you have Sagittarius on the cusp of a Natal Chart house
If you are a Sagittarius, your appropriate Major Arcana card is Temperance, and its companion for the planetary ruler of your sign, Jupiter, is The Wheel of Fortune.
Most Tarot decks show Temperance as an angel standing with one foot on solid ground, the other dipping its toes in a pool of water as the angel pours liquid from one vessel to another. The image clearly depicts some process of mixing diverse elements to create "just the right blend" ... just the right conditions. And the concept of temperance itself implies staying calm in the midst of chaos, finding a place of peace and serenity "in between the storms" that life can regularly produce.

The Wheel of Fortune -- The Jupiter Card

The Wheel of Fortune
Upright
The companion card to Temperance is the Wheel of Fortune, paired with Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius. Jupiter, the King of the Gods in Roman mythology, known for his expansive generosity, jovial temperament, benevolence, and self-indulgent excesses ... probably loves his correlation to this card. In fact, he may have engineered the arrangement. Who knows?

Rachel Pollack's Tarot Wisdom: Spiritual Teachings and Deeper Meanings
By
Rachel Pollack
Apparently it wasn't just me. This year's parade of planets through Scorpio presided over some very sobering moments in many people's lives. Sad times of closure and release. Shattering confrontations with change and hard reality. A pervasive feeling of death, dissolution and endings ... that has lingered even after some of the celestial energies moved on into what should be the happier climates of Sagittarius.
So for the Milestones reading this month, let's see if we can't give our "power of positive thinking" a little extra boost -- and shake off the exceptional gloom and grimness that the tenure of Scorpio brought to our world this year.
Metaphysical philosophy, religious dogma and, hopefully, our personal experiences all teach that after each time of terrible conclusions there is an upsurge of new life, hope and growth. It's why Sagittarius follows Scorpio in the parade of Zodiac signs. Sagittarius sows seeds of new investments and possibilities on the same ground recently laid waste by Scorpio's deadly swath.
Sagittarius brings opportunities for expansion, novel adventures and new learning. Sagittarius is known for open-handed generosity -- and for taking on all it can handle. It is nothing, if not upbeat about itself -- and its prospects. It deals in education, ideas, the incorporation of different concepts from a wide variety of places -- into useful structures we all can use in our rules for living. Sagittarius is concerned with ethics, moral values, religious principles -- and literally the laws that govern our choices and actions.
Sagittarius energy is attractive and buoyant, cheerful, charming, good-humored and indefatigably optimistic. It's that last quality I want to put onstage for us to work with this year. Optimism ... with a Capital O. So let's all take a deep breath. Center ourselves for some spiritual work -- and prepare to contact the Inner Self that keeps life's silver linings alive. We could certainly use a visit from him this year. Personally, I'm ready to set him a permanent place at the dinner table. Maybe not a bad idea.

A Magical Course in Tarot: Reading the Cards in a Whole New Way
By
Michele Morgan, Rebecca Richards
The year's end is in sight. What was once the far horizon comes closer each day. Once again, we've passed through the awesome, redoubtable season of Scorpio with its associations of death, closure, endings ... and change. The calendar says it's Sagittarius energy driving life's wheel now.
But today, it doesn't feel like Scorpio's bony hand has loosened its grip at all. As if the recent events of death and endings in my life haven't moved into the past by more than a few degrees, but instead have settled in like an unwelcome squatter (I just can't bring myself to use the word "guest") and made arrangements to become the new permanent landscape of my world.

Temperance -- The Sagittarius Card

Temperance
Upright
Temperance Movement
Temperance speaks of restoring balance, getting one's feet back on solid ground again, finding the middle in the midst of extremes. Sagittarius, on the other hand, deals with expansion, benevolence, generosity, widening one's sphere of influence, offering one's acquired expertise, and pushing the cluster of knowledge out to the edge of all that is known. Again, Temperance seems almost too narrow in its scope to fit around the vibrant Sagittarius spirit we astrologers all know and love.
