The Scorpio-to-Sagittarius Cusp Born Person
The Scorpio-to-Sagittarius individual will show a primarily resourceful, visionary, relentless persona that is capable of building coalitions and creating fabulous enterprises from the multi-faceted talents and resources of many partners and other people.
His visions may border on the breath-taking and his creations on the miraculous, but they will not only show the ethical, generous qualities of his Sagittarius flavoring ... but the tendency to come to grief by biting off far more than he can ever successfully chew.
Having spent time as the often-elusive, ever-mysterious power and string-puller behind the scenes of life, and having learned those lessons well, the Scorpio-to-Sagittarius spirit is ready to come out of his shell for a while and rejoin the human race.
This is no small decision, for neither Scorpio nor Sagittarius are signs known for doing anything half-way. But for a time the vacillation between secretive Scorpio and exuberant, fun-loving Sagittarius may be quite pronounced -- leaving some of his associates baffled as to which of these personalities is really him.

Happy Birthday Sagittarius!!
Happy Birthday, Sagittarius!! You are the birthday child this month, and as the last of the Fire Signs (the other two being Aries and Leo) nobody is going to have to beg you to blow out the candles on your cake, enjoy the festivities and attention, and dance the night away.
Some hardy soul may have to catch up to you, though, Sagittarius, to remind you that your birthday has rolled around again and that a party is in order. As a Sagittarius, you are liable to be off somewhere else, for you are always on the move, going places and doing things. Sagittarius is well-known for having itchy feet, wanderlust, and a yearning to see what lies beyond the far horizon. Sagittarius is energetic, restless, and always has plenty of energy to burn.
Under stress, Sagittarius energy becomes wasteful, extravagant, pretentious, overly zealous, hypocritical, self-righteous and over-extended with commitments and promises it either cannot or will choose not to fulfill.
Sagittarius is Mutable Fire, flexible in its sense of leadership and always looking to incorporate more information and advanced knowledge into its vision of life. Its interests extend beyond the bounds of one country and culture ... and ultimately seek to unify the world itself into that concept of the Global Village that is becoming more and more an everyday reality.

Mars in Taurus square Saturn in Leo
When Mars is square to Saturn, an insensitive, unsympathetic energy moves into place. Actions take on a "tunnel-visioned" quality as obstacles and hindrances repeatedly, chronically inhibit forward motion. The road to "success" becomes a grinding uphill struggle, maddeningly elusive, because obligations remain burdensome and entrenched, roadblocks and restrictions limit choices, and a lack of resources undercuts the building of vital support structures.
The bottom line? Action is blocked or difficult. Problems or prior commitments restrict options. Assets aren't available -- for whatever reason. A need for extreme self-discipline and caution brings on a cautious, paranoid, even resentful attitude regarding the job you have to do, the desires you want to fulfill, and the measly assistance available from competing but essential interests in your life.

Jupiter in Scorpio
Well, Jupiter's been in Scorpio for nearly a month now ... long enough to gain a toehold, flavor the congenial climate left over from its sojourn through Libra with its special blend of Scorpio spice ... and focus attention on the larger possibilities of recycling, elimination and replacement, closure and renewal. Jupiter, with its emphasis on extremism and exaggeration (it never does anything halfway!!) will bring the Scorpio themes of death and rebirth unmistakably into the business of everyday life this next year ... and leave the place in better shape when it departs!
Keep telling yourself that. It helps.
Jupiter represents your philosophical and ethical structures; your ability to claim and express your "authoritative knowledge" - often through teaching others by the example of your own life; your ability to expand your sphere of personal influence; your involvement with law and religion - and the "basic rules you live by."
It also represents your ability to share benevolently with others - thus your capacity for charitable efforts and contributions to promote the overall social progress you favor. It describes your ability to envision "the big picture" of life and commit yourself to expansive undertakings
Perhaps most significantly, it symbolizes your involvement with positive karma and the benefits you derive therefrom.
When Jupiter is in Scorpio, people begin to adjust their "philosophy of life" to accommodate more profound, complex ideas. The cooperative climate that prevailed so nicely during Jupiter's transit through Libra has brought up a number of significant points, involving both agreement and disagreement -- ones that won't be easily swept aside any more. So confronting their sometimes disturbing truths becomes a necessary part of personal growth.

Venus in Capricorn trine Mars in Taurus
Well, Venus waltzing with stately dignity through prim and proper Capricorn has arrived to give beleaguered and retrograde Mars in Taurus a little much-needed TLC, forming a trine Thursday at 11¦deg;.
Venus will come back for another tryst in late January after going retrograde herself next month ... the pair this time forming the trine at 18¦deg; of Capricorn and Taurus. And then in late March ... these two social butterflies will exchange compliments for one last time this session. By then both will have moved into Air signs ... Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Gemini. The trine will form at 20¦deg;, By then, it may involve lots of poetry, flowery phrases ... and plenty of delightful surprises.
But for now, these two symbols of love and romance (and sexuality and "action" ... you know what I mean) are in Earth signs ... and they want plenty of earthly delights and practical results. Usually, this involves money!! (As in luxurious gifts, gestures of fine living, and the kind of "affectionate displays" you can put in the bank!)

Uranus Turns Direct
Uranus is the first of what are called the "transpersonal planets," planets out beyond the orbit of Saturn, which is the last of the planets in our solar system that can be seen without the aid of a telescope. The discovery of Uranus was, therefore, as you can imagine, a very long time in coming. It did not happen until 1781, and the discovery itself was (naturally!!) an accident!
Uranus takes 7 years, three times as long as Saturn, to traverse a sign. It is the first of the karmic planets, whose position, movement, and energy affects a large enough group of newborns to bring about social and cultural changes as these people mature and begin rearranging their world to suit them and their ideas better than the one they inherited from their elders.
Unlike the planets of Mercury through Saturn, also, Uranus "covers all the bases" as it transits and retrogrades through each sign. (Neptune and Pluto even more so.) But there are no free rides with Uranus. ALL the degrees get crossed, backed over again and re-crossed ... in what astrologers know as the classic "triple transit" effect -- across, back, and across again as the planet begins to make progress through the sign once more.
Uranus is also in retrograde about half the time ... so its effects aren't nearly as noticeable as those of the personal planets --again, Mercury through Saturn. It's also hard to think of the word "subtle" as applying to anything concerned with Uranus ... but it does, to some extent. Uranus ushers in adventurous new ideas ... which then may require some study and incorporation to use properly.

The Full Moon in Taurus
As a cold front moved in this evening on the leading edge of winter, the Full Moon in Taurus rose over the New Mexico mountains. And as we drove home tonight from a couple of quick errands in town, the sky was like something from a Georgia O'Keeffe painting ... maybe in honor of her 118th birthday today. The full moon rested on the black jagged line of mountains, against bands of pearlized ivory, pink, lavender, and gray. It was a reminder of why we live here ... and why we will never leave. It was impossible to just watch the road ... so I drove slowly to make the moment last.
The Full Moon in Taurus opposed The Sun in Scorpio at 23¦deg; 46'. Astrologically, the Moon in Taurus opposing the Sun in Scorpio brings up issues of property and wealth, control over possessions, and the ability to work with possibly diverse abstract values. It's literally "the other side of the coin" from the Full Moon issues we handled back when the Moon in Scorpio opposed the Sun in Taurus in April.
The energy of the Full Moon in Taurus now tugs at our awareness and asks us to recognize that we no longer have full claim over "our assets" in this greater whole. It also asks that we reconsider (and certainly admire) what we have done individually to make this greater gift be what it is.
This is the moment when everyone honors his own part in assembling what exists now that didn't exist 6 months ago, 12 months ago, five years ago -- and at the same time acknowledges the greater network which has helped his efforts become what they are today.
This, then, is the undercurrent of thought that will weave through the ideas, private ruminations, and daily events of the next two weeks as the sky assembles itself for the New Moon in Sagittarius on December 1, at which time we will each take a look at what we have built, what we have reclaimed, and determine how we want to expand on these assets ... and where we will go from there.

Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius / Scorpio
November 13 - December 3
Mercury has gone retrograde in Sagittarius (late Sunday night.) It will dip back into Scorpio briefly in late November and early December ... and go direct again in the early evening of December 3. It will travel from 11¦deg; Sagittarius back to 25¦deg; Scorpio. Where that segment of the Zodiac falls in your Natal Chart, you will find yourself "rethinking" the information you use, the way you communicate, the beliefs you support, the things you hold to be "self-evident truths," the intellectual interests you pursue, and the way you teach what you believe to others.
If this slice of the Zodiac crosses two different houses in your chart, you will "back up and rearrange" two different areas of life to be more sincerely aligned with your present thoughts and the presentation of your true beliefs. Your plans and the way you proceed in these areas of life once Mercury goes direct again ... will change in the next several weeks.
Mercury, of course, is involved with communication, the handling of data, the application of knowledge and information, and the way you study and present "what you know" for others to understand and use. Sagittarius deals with sophisticated areas of learning and expertise, philosophy, ethics, law, religion, multi-cultural interests, and advanced education. The house of your horoscope with Sagittarius on the cusp is where these interests and efforts find practical expression in your life.

Venus in Capricorn sextile Uranus in Pisces
When Venus is sextile to Uranus the energy is emotionally vivacious, pleasant, and stimulating, but it usually represents more of a "passing mood" than anything serious. At its best, it supports original artistic expression, offers the chance to make money in unusual ways, and invites participation in unconventional relationships.
If it activates points in your Natal Chart, this energy may bring an interesting new friend into your life -- or rekindle your interest in an old flame.
It creates an atmosphere where you may fall in love suddenly -- or even marry suddenly, but the traditional idea of relationships takes a back seat to insistence on personal freedom, unconventional ways of showing love, and unique ideas about the different roles of love and money in your life. Essentially, this is an energy of impulsive commitments. It creates a little stir, adds a little spice ... and generally doesn't leave a lasting hangover.
Especially if you have important points in your Natal Chart near 3 - 7 degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, or Pisces ... these next couple of weeks could deliver a nice little bonus.

Venus in Capricorn sextile Jupiter in Scorpio
When Venus is sextile to Jupiter, the stage is set for a more gregarious and tolerant mood than has prevailed lately. This energy favors artistic expression, especially art that supports philosophical, humanitarian, or religious ideas. It supports writing efforts, especially when the subjects carry an altruistic, healing, or philanthropic message.
This is a graceful, sympathetic, welcoming energy ... that helps you deal well with other people, gives compassion for the unfortunate, and encourages cooperation. It also may inspire you to provide more comfortable or prettier living arrangements for yourself. For the next week or so, a more pronounced joy of living arrives ... bringing more creativity, more interest in leisure pursuits, and more "laziness" as well. But then, as they say, every silver lining has a cloud.
Especially if you have important points in your Natal Chart near 3 - 7 degrees of Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, or Pisces ... these next couple of weeks could deliver a nice little bonus (usually coming as a pleasant surprise involving money, a new possession, a social invitation, a sweet gesture from someone you love, etc.) that shows you life's softer, more rewarding side (for a change!!) And for the record, you can certainly set the energy in motion. Seize the initiative! Do something nice for someone! The payoff could be surprising ... and certainly worthwhile.
