Conjunct in Pisces
(Sextile Jupiter in Capricorn)
Late March through Early April

Mercury, Venus and Uranus have formed a remarkable conjunction in Pisces with ... (ta-daaaah!!!) ... a sextile to Jupiter in Capricorn ... a bonus for the uncommon Jupiter / Uranus sextile that is just oh-so-nice this year. The last approaching sextile between Jupiter and Uranus was in 1994 ... with Jupiter in Scorpio and Uranus in Capricorn. As I said, it doesn't happen often.

Anyway ... because Jupiter retrogrades, starting May 9 -- it and Uranus are virtually hand-in-glove (and therefore this sextile remains valid) through the end of the calendar year. There will be a lot of stuff to consider as the faster-moving planets form aspects to this pair in the months ahead -- but we'll get to those in due time. For now, the conjunction in Pisces / sextile with Capricorn formed around 20°.

In the last issue of Step by Step I talked specifically (and at length) about the meaning of the triple conjunction in Pisces ... so you could "get your head around" that much of this complicated pattern ... before adding in the considerations of Jupiter in Capricorn. Today ... it's time to do that!

Honestly, I've been trying to figure out how to describe the intricate meaning of this unusual blend ... without writing something that rivals the length of "War and Peace." So ... I'm going to experiment a bit with an idea or two I've developed from all my cerebral gymnastics. (After all, I have Aquarius on my 3rd House cusp. You have to expect stuff like this from me ... from time to time.)

It helps if you think of astrological aspects and the predictions you can make from them as a menu in a really great Chinese restaurant. When you know what each "dish" represents (what each placement / sign / aspect mean), you basically "choose one from Column A, one from Column B" ... to assemble the meal you expect to enjoy.

Today ... we'll talk specifically about the triple conjunction in Pisces.

The Full Moon forms Friday afternoon, as
the Libra Moon opposes The Sun in Aries at 1° 31'.

I know the next item on the publishing calendar is the Aries Ingress -- the transition of the Sun into Aries, but the Full Moon in Libra coming up today is an awfully messy one ... so I'm going to let it jump the line and publish it first ... because the atmosphere tomorrow (and all week-end!!) is very volatile and touchy.

Emotionally, lots of people feel fed-up, out of sorts, pushed, hassled, pressured ... and ready to just explode. This is something to keep in mind as you drive, as you try to transact your daily business ... and in your dealings with people who almost certainly haven't been forewarned about what all is afoot right now. Most of all, try to stay "out of the line of fire" of someone else's temper tantrum ... and try not to pitch one of your own. This is, indeed, an energy to treat with caution.

The exact Full Moon arrives Friday afternoon at 12:40 PM Mountain Time at 1° 31'. The Full Moon always occurs when the Moon is in the sign directly opposite the Sun in the Zodiac. Hence the reason The Full Moon always rises in the East as The Sun sets in the West. If you get a chance to get out and enjoy the evening spectacle tomorrow ... do so. It's a far better way to spend these hours than trying to deal with other people right now. Besides ... is one of the nicest ways to give your soul a treat!

In astrology, an opposition between the Sun and the Moon always indicates a hyper-sensitive situation, where emotions are on full display, and "other people" are more easily able to jerk your strings and get on your nerves. It's also a situation where options are more readily available -- but so are ambivalence and confusion. You may see life more readily from "another person's point of view" ... but you'll also feel constrained to take this other perspective (and these other people) into account, when that may not be convenient -- or even agreeable for you. The feeling of division ... within yourself ... and between "you and them" ... mirrors the testy, irritable mood of this time.

The Full Moon between the Aries Sun and the Libra Moon brings this situation front and center in ways that are rarely comfortable. This is the conflict between "your individual interests and wishes" and "other people's agendas and designs" ... in spades. The energy of the Aries Sun is assertive, competitive, forceful, and independent. The energy of the Libra Moon is cooperative, sociable, concerned with other people, and wants everything to be "nice."

The problem is ... as you can see from the chart, this Full Moon in Libra -- opposing the Aries Sun is also squaring the s-l-o-w-l-y dissolving opposition between Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn. I've already talked about how this one is dangerous all by itself. Well, this added full moon stress may set off a lot of fireworks in the world in the next week or so. As I said in the beginning, it's time to tread carefully ... and stay out of anger's way. Especially in the next few days. (DO NOT get into a "test of wills" with anyone ... particularly when you're driving ... no matter what the provocation ... and this may be substantial!!!) With the Sun and Moon square to Pluto and Mars ... this is a climate of extreme reactions ... no kidding.
