The Sun in Taurus' Role
In the recent Kite Pattern
Late April and well into May

We've talked already about Mercury's part in the recent and unusual Kite Pattern that arrived with the Full Moon this week. But, of course, The Sun is one of the players here, too. And as I mentioned, Venus will soon fill in this critical position in Taurus, as The Sun moves on, giving us a very nice bridge of time to work with all the changes and benefits these aspects depict. Soooo, let's talk now about the Sun's aspects.

The outlook today ...

The Moon is in Capricorn.

The Moon in Capricorn is extremely comfortable for the next few days, despite that being a sign quite unsuited to gentle Moon energy as a rule. Given all the emphasis in Earth (and Water) signs now, this is a marvelous week-end to listen to your feelings, follow your intuition, and see what your "gut hunches" tell you about all the projects and possibilities I just described. Right now, planning is a cinch! Life's mood is very circumspect and self-contained for a while. The time is great for just "takin' care of business" ... and laying out designs to keep on doing that into the foreseeable future.

The Full Moon in Scorpio
... and the Kite Pattern
Late April and well into May

This impressive-looking set of aspects that formed with the Full Moon on Sunday is known as a Kite Pattern ... and it is fairly rare, especially one with the components as nice and close as these are. A Kite Pattern gets that name for obvious reasons. If you "connect the points" of the various players here, you get the outline of a kite.

A Kite Pattern consists of a Grand Trine with an opposition to one of the three points in that design. In this chart we have a Grand Earth Trine nicely drawn between the Sun / Mercury conjunction in Taurus, Pluto in Capricorn, and Saturn in Virgo. The Full Moon in Scorpio opposing the Sun / Mercury pair in Taurus ... makes it a Kite Pattern. So ... in a Kite, you have three trines, two sextiles and an opposition. It shows incredibly fine opportunities and talents with plenty of chances to shine, but it also contains the constant, perpetual need to balance the factors represented by the opposition.

Because Mercury is the fastest moving of these elements (other than the Moon, of course), let's talk about its symbolism -- and what it indicates -- in this Step by Step issue, understanding that lots of what I describe here will apply to the Sun and it's energy, too, (when I write about it tomorrow), since both those planets are in Taurus.

First of all, since we're dealing with a Grand Earth Trine, we by definition have placements in Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. Therefore these issues are onstage for us all to work with!!

The outlook today ...

The Moon is in Sagittarius.

The Moon in Sagittarius usually brings an expansive upbeat mood. It may still do that today, but the whole day long it doesn't contain much help for getting anything useful accomplished. It's not void of course yet (or again) ... but it forms no aspects today with anything else in the sky. (Hence ... no pink boxes at the end of this Ezine.) This creates a very wandering "at loose ends" kind of climate -- which may be welcome if you just want to drift a while and take in the scenery. But it will be Thursday afternoon before life really "snaps into focus" again ... or hands you the drive to get much worthwhile done. Just FYI.

The Full Moon in Scorpio
opposing The Sun in Taurus
Late April through Early May

We get two Full Moons in Scorpio this year. The first one formed at 0° 43', the second one forms at 29° 27' the evening of May 19. So, we get two bites of the Full Moon in Scorpio apple over the next month or so, and as you can see from the chart below, this first one arrived amid some very interesting company. I'll be writing about all these components over the next couple of issues. For now ... let's deal with the Full Moon in Scorpio and its meaning just by itself.

The opposition between the Taurus Sun and the Scorpio Moon represents the basic division between "what's mine" and "what's ours." It also brings out decisions -- and dilemmas -- about acquiring new (or more) "stuff" ... and releasing things which no longer have a purpose in our lives. The energy of the Taurus Sun can be exceedingly possessive, money-conscious, materialistic, and jealous. Some issue of possession and ownership, your authority over your material assets, the control you have over your financial support, or some concern about individual property rights may be front-and-center for a while.

The Scorpio Moon, however, sees the advantages of investment, the improvements you can build with your assets and those of others ... and so the well-known power struggle of relationships may emerge as you have to choose between economic autonomy vs. merging your resources and wealth (which could be money, possessions, talent, energy, efforts, anything you provide from your own riches) with those supplied by someone else for everyone's greater profit. Talk about touchy! Passions run as high over money as they do over sex. So, while it's time to consider your economic and physical choices carefully ... it's also time to be aware of the tensions -- and be careful. Period.

The outlook today ...

The Moon starts the day in Scorpio
and moves into Sagittarius in the afternoon.

The Moon is Void of Course most of the day Tuesday ... across hours that will affect workday efforts both here and in Europe. The Moon in Scorpio is void from 2:54 AM Tuesday morning (MT) until 3:07 PM (MT) Tuesday afternoon. (Add 6 hours for GMT.) So plan a quiet, water-treading kind of schedule, and put off anything important until later in the week. Tuesday itself is kind of a downer anyway ... and Wednesday will likewise be blah ... for different reasons. Friday and Saturday are really the best days for productivity or progress this week. So, make room for some quiet space in your life. Those days are essential, too.
