In the far reaches of southwest England,
lies Saint Michael's Mount:

This photograph is reproduced courtesy of Martin Gray, who has spent much of his life touring and photographing the sacred sites of the world. I very much enjoyed watching a slide presentation that Martin gave to a large audience in 1992. These days, with the Internet available, Martin's fascinating material is just a mouse click away at www.SacredSites.com.
Saint Michael's Mount is located in Mount's Bay, in the far southwest of England, just offshore from the town of Marazion, which was established 2,300 years ago. Yes, the town of Marazion has been there for 2,300 years -English history sometimes stretches back further than you'd expect! For example, the New Forest is so-called because it was planted, new, 900 years ago! Saint Michael's Mount is accessible by small boat, or on foot at low tide when the 500-yard (500 m) granite causeway is exposed. It has a centuries-old castle built on the top of the mount, which is open to tourists.
Saint Michael's Mount is famous among British mystics for being located along the pathway of the Michael and Mary ley lines. Leys lines are currents of etheric-magnetic energy - life energy - which criss-cross the surface of the globe. The Michael and Mary ley line pair runs through several sacred sites in southern England, including the village of Avebury, with its huge circle of prehistoric stones, the ancient power place of Glastonbury Tor and Saint Michael's Mount.

That's where I came in. Back in 1950, I was born into this life in that very area, within the massive vortex of energy that swirls outwards from Saint Michael's Mount. The vortex is caused by the intersection of two paths of etheric energy - the Michael and Mary pair of ley lines, and another pair called Apollo and Athena. While Michael and Mary run towards the southwest, the Apollo and Athena pair run southeast towards Greece.
The paths of the Apollo and Athena ley lines were meticulously tracked by authors Hamish Miller and Paul Broadhurst. They found that this pair of ley lines intertwines as they run from Ireland's island monastery of Skellig Michael, through Saint Michael's Mount, France's Mont Saint Michel, and then through holy sites at Sacra di San Michele, Assisi, Delphi, Athens, Rhodes and finally Mount Carmel, Israel.
At Saint Michael's Mount, these two pairs of ley lines intersect with each other and whirl into a life-energy vortex which affects spiritual consciousness for many miles around. It truly is a playground for the budding mystic, and one where I chose to be born and reared for this lifetime.
It certainly provided the atmosphere for my early spiritual awakening. In 1963, at the ripe old age of 13, I was sitting, playing a long note on a musical wind instrument - a tenor horn -while looking at sheet music on a stand in front of me. Suddenly, the long note sounded very deep and resonant. I rotated up out of my body, leaving through my head, and experienced a fully-conscious, out-of-body projection.
I found myself looking down onto the top of the music stand, rather than looking at its front. One deep breath of surprise later, and I was back inside my physical body, startled and intrigued. My search into mysticism had begun!
If you were to stand on Saint Michael's Mount at the crack of dawn on May 1st and look towards the rising Sun, you will be looking directly along the path of the Michael and Mary ley lines. May Day is celebrated on May 1st as a springtime festival in some U.K. cities and towns. A centuries-old tradition, it began as a fertility celebration of the coming season when crops grow in the fields. Colorfully-dressed Morris dancers, still today, take to the hills and the parks to dance at dawn. Others, more formally dressed, wait for the main show of the day and dance through the streets.
In fact, my GrandDad proposed to my GrandMother on such a day. He had returned home to the county of Cornwall after a long assignment overseas as a mine manager and he obtained an introduction to the person he described as "the loveliest girl in town." The fact that she was dressed in black, mourning for the recent loss of her fiance in World War I was a setback. Undaunted, my GrandDad told her that she'd feel better if she celebrated the Spring by dancing around the maypole at the annual Helston Flora dance.

May Festival of Helston Flora
The bells of destiny must have been ringing loudly enough for my GrandMother to agree. Off they went on a 30-mile journey, in the days when you traveled by horse and carriage and you had to change horses every 15 miles. Well, she didn't dance around the maypole like the other young maidens, nor did she feel up to dancing through the streets.
However, they did enjoy the upbeat spirits of the May celebration and, on the way back, they stopped to change the horses. Seizing the opportunity to make some progress (no pressure!), my GrandDad bought her a large glass of port wine. By the time they had left with fresh horses, and with the port wine settling in very nicely, my GrandDad proposed marriage... and she accepted!
Oh, and by the way, here I am today.

My partner in life and metaphysics,
Dreama Vance, windswept at Lanyon Coit
West Cornwall is littered with prehistoric monoliths like the one above, called Lanyon Coit. Archaeologists have no idea why they were built. However, historical records are relatively easy for mystics to research. Everything that has ever happened on planet Earth is recorded in the ethers around the planet, just waiting for you to look up anything you want. All you have to do is to go into deep meditation, get focused on your questions and then see what information unravels into your awareness. If accuracy is vitally important, then you can have your friends do the same lookups and compare notes.
Here is the unofficial, non-archaeological version of the history of Lanyon Coit, as researched by a mystic -- me, in this case! My definition of a mystic is a spiritual seeker who is still attentively seeking after 3 months. In other words, it's not a fad or a temporary hobby. I've been at it for over 40 years, and that's just in this lifetime! Finding new spiritual information has always been my primary interest in this life.
So, here's the inside scoop: Lanyon Coit was built over 7,000 years ago. It was designed by a mystic priest to collect energies from the nearby vortex at Saint Michael's Mount. It provided an intense atmosphere of energy and served as a place of gathering for celebration and worship.
Records show that, after it collapsed during a storm in 1815, it was re-erected but with only three of the original four supporting pillars. It still attracts energy, but considerably less so than when it was in the shape of its original design.
Granite monoliths are chosen for their high quartz crystal content, which acts as a natural attractor for etheric energy. The shape of the monolith is important for its ability to attract energy efficiently.
There is another, similar-shaped stone formation in the vicinity, called Chun Quoit, and also Men-an-Tol (see below), a stone structure which has attracted enough life energy to produce many miraculous healings over the centuries. The hole is large enough for a person to crawl through. Its quartz content and shape provides its ability to attract life energy, which people use as a healing power.

A little further up the coast lies the ruins of Tintagel ("Tin-tadge-el") Castle, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur in approximately the sixth century C.E. Excavations in the 1990's have confirmed that this castle was once the stronghold of a powerful chieftain. Standing high above Merlin's Cave on the beach below and accessible only by a thin strip of land, Tintagel Castle was an impregnable stronghold in its day.

Moving a little further along the Michael and Mary ley lines, we find Glastonbury Tor, near the legendary burial place of King Arthur and the castle of Camelot.

Venturing a little further still, we come to Avebury, in the center of crop circle country. Within the village of Avebury lies a huge circle of prehistoric stones. Originally, there were 98 tall stones, each over 12 feet (4 m) in height and weighing over 40 tons each, They were spread out in a 1,400 foot (425 m) diameter circle, although, today, only 27 of the stones remain.

A few miles to the south of Avebury is the most famous prehistoric stone structure in Britain - Stonehenge, which dates back over 4,000 years.
All circles of stones attract energy into an area large enough for gatherings of people on special occasions, such as the solstices which mark the seasons.

People used to gather in these stone circles to give thanks to the Sun and the Earth for the warmth and shelter that they provided. If mankind had the same reverence for Nature today, we wouldn't be polluting the planet at the rate we are. As people move through The Shift, reverence for all aspects of Nature will reawaken. The issue of toxicity in the environment will become bigger and bigger until a critical mass of environmentally-aware consciousness is reached. Then, we will actually see efforts being made to beautify the environment. Imagine that!
