As women, we have been taught to give ourselves away, and to ignore that insistent call that says, "What about me?". And abandoning ourselves in this way breaks our hearts. Let's stop.

(1) Wrap yourself up in a luxurious throw, blanket or cuddly robe, make yourself some hot cocoa with marshmallows and put in a movie.

(2) Sit outside on the porch with a cup or glass of tea and soak up the sunshine (no multitasking allowed).

(3) Buy yourself flannel sheets and flannel pillowcases , so that you sink into delicious comfort every time you get in the bed.

(4) Get these essential oils: bergamot and geranium, and mix them with a carrier oil or lotion. They carry a very nurturing, mothering energy. The best place to use them is where your bra band hits, under and to the side of your breasts.

(5) Sink deep into a very warm bath with a comforting scent like lavender or vanilla, and deepen the experience with a matching candle or two.

(6) Curl up in front of the fire with a good book until you get sleepy. Then, you can take a long nap!

(7) Don't eat your veggies, skip the main course, and go right to dessert! (I mean that literally and figuratively)

(8) Even though you've parked, stay in the car until the song is over and sing along.

(9) Give yourself a hearty laugh. Rent the video of your favorite stand-up comedian and watch it with your best friend. It will be a bonding experience you'll both refer to and remember for quite some time to come.

(10) Get a group of friends together, go out to lunch, and then, go to an afternoon matinee.
