An alliance between Inner Selves
All transiting conjunctions are moments to notice ... conjunctions to the Sun especially. All conjunctions mark a time of new ventures between the planet partners who form the conjunction. They don't get a lot of notice, but maybe they should.
The conjunction is a meeting between two Inner Selves that sets the agenda for the work they will do together between now and their next meeting. You can cast a chart for it -- and make predictions from that chart, just as with a Solar or Lunar Return.
Conjunctions form between transiting planets in the sky and between transiting planets and your Natal planets. They reveal an important, interesting piece of what's happening in your life ... in your future, in the mosaic of your place in the world -- and how that's working for you.
Setting a new agenda
There are hundreds of such meetings in a lifetime, each with something to say. Recently, there was a conjunction between The Sun and Venus Retrograde in Aries -- at 5°. Conjunctions in Aries are special because of the initiative, drive and dynamic energy they contain.
Conjunctions involving The Sun are special alliances with your Essential Self. It and another Inner Self -- the conjunction partner -- have met to begin a new round of business. When that planet is Venus, the partner is your Social and Financial Self.
Among the planets and Inner Family members, Venus herself is special. Like Mercury, she hangs out constantly close to the Sun, never more than two signs -- or 48° from The Sun. The only major aspect she can form with The Sun is the conjunction.
Like all the planets, Venus retrogrades -- once every 18 months. In doing so, she backs up across the Sun, turns around and eventually comes forward again, meets The Sun again, and continues on ahead until the next retrograde point. During Venus retrograde, you reassess the things Venus represents -- things of value, like relationships and material support.
Venus Retrograde conjunct the Sun in Aries
The Sun conjunct Rx Venus in Aries invites you to re-evaluate the quality of your alliances -- the people in your relationships. Are they assertive enough to support your new ambitions? Are they aligned with who you are now -- the person you have become in the last few months?
Regarding your finances ... do you have the $$$ to launch new efforts and initiatives ... and if not, how can you get it through independent action? You're rearranging your partnerships and finances. And the answers to these questions will determine your next moves -- and how you plan to go forward.
Venus' next conjunction with The Sun is in January 2018 in Capricorn. This time, with Venus direct, you'll make decisions about the kind of status you want from your relationships, the kind of professional help "your people" can provide, how your public life and finances intersect ... and how your profession and $$$ can support each other ... and you, better.

Your Aries House -- The Starting Point -- Where Action Begins ---> The starting point of life -- The house in your Natal Chart with Aries on the cusp is the starting point for your life's action. It's where things begin. When you're ready to launch new ventures or start new interests, this is the first place you look for motive and inspiration.
Masculine Signs -- The Fire and Air Signs ---> Signs of Life and Intellect -- Essentially, "masculine" signs prefer to seize the moment, make things happen and change what doesn't suit them with their actions and choices. Masculine sign people are life's movers-and-shakers.
Where Are They Now? -- The Personal Planets ---> Sun in Aries brings: The self-assertive, proactive parts of your personality ---> Attitudes that are passionate, bold, and self-reliant ---> Interest in starting new ventures, pioneering efforts, making things happen, competing to win
What Is a Conjunction? ---> Conjunctions are aspects in astrology where the planets or elements involved occupy approximately the same degree and minute of arc in the Zodiac. (In practice, an "orb of aspect" of 8 - 10 degrees is still considered a valid conjunction.)
The Fire Signs -- Aries, Leo, Sagittarius ---> Fire Signs get things done -- The Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius represent energy that is directly involved with action, leadership, personal charisma, and self-expression. These signs are self-confident, dramatic, self-promoting, exuberant, vivacious, and captivating.
Retrograde Motion -- What's this all about? ---> All the planets astrologers use to decode the spiritual language of the cosmos exhibit a phenomenon known as retrograde motion. Very simply, there are times from Earth's perspective when each of the planets seems to back up in its orbit, to actually reverse course for a time, before eventually going forward again.
This Thing Called Retrograde Motion -- What it means in plain English ---> What is this thing called retrograde motion? Wherever it's found, in the sky or in a horoscope, retrograde energy means the matters represented by the retrograde planet become more subjective as people re-think, re-consider, re-evaluate and re-build.
Working with the Metaphors of Retrograde Energy ---> When a planet goes into retrograde -- or comes out again, it doesn't just stop on a dime and start racing at its usual speed in the opposite direction. It seems (from the vantage point of Earth) to slow down gradually as it approaches the point of reversal -- the way you slow down in the car before coming to a stop -- or making a turn ... and certainly before making a U-Turn.
Born with the Sun in Aries -- The Aries Character ---> Aries is the Spring Fire Sign -- Direct and to the point -- Passion is never a problem for Aries. Nor is self-assertion. Nor is being downright pushy and tromping on toes if that gets a job done. Aries is long on initiative and ambition, notoriously short on tact -- and few will apologize for that. Whoever first said, "Lead, follow or get out of the way," was an Aries through and through. (Only what he meant was "I'm gonna lead. The rest of you follow. And God help whoever doesn't get out of the way.")
Conjunctions of the Sun -- When the Essential Self Merges with Another Inner Self ---> When the Sun and another Inner Self join forces -- Conjunctions involving the Sun merge the Sun's symbolism of self-image, creative effort, personal pride and initiative with whatever the other planet (or planets) symbolize. These two are then joined together as a unit.
His Majesty ... The Sun -- The Center of Our Solar System ---> The Sun is perhaps the most rudimentary and reliable chronometer ... "measure or marker of time" ... we have. It is certainly the most obvious. It rises every morning ... and sets every evening. It has been doing so for millions of years.
Horoscopes When the Sun is in Aries -- March 20 to April 20 ---> If Your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in ... Aries -- Your theme song this month is ... "I gotta be me ... !!" So let the world hear that message. Let it see who you really are. Put your special qualities on display with all the flair and drama you can devise. Say what you believe. Be yourself.
The Sun in General -- Your Essential Self of Power, Will, Vitality and Ambition ---> The essence of you -- In Astrology, The Sun represents your basic core identity. It gives information about the qualities of your ego, your individual self-expression, your self-image and your sense of personal identity.
When the Sun is in Aries ---> Welcome to Spring!! -- When the Sun is in Aries, people are aggressive, direct, and competitive. Attitudes are forceful and energetic. It's time to shake off the meditative moods that prevailed during Pisces, and kick some ... um ... aspirations. With the Sun in Aries, people are candid, blunt, emphatic and concerned with winning. They are assertive and ambitious.
Venus in General -- Your Inner Selves of Resource Management and Relationships ---> Support comes in many forms -- According to dime-store astrology ... the kind most people know from the little booklets they buy on newstands ... Venus in Astrology rules the two alluring topics of money and love. Like Mercury, Venus rules two Zodiac signs -- Taurus and Libra, and there is, indeed, a connection here between Venus ... money ... and love.
What Does Venus Represent in Your Natal Chart? -- What is it ... and why is it important? ---> Pink is a Venus color. -- Named for the goddess of love -- Venus, modestly shrouded in clouds when photographed, is named for the mythological goddess of love. It is often seen as the evening star -- so bright and shimmering some say it gets mistaken for a UFO. Maybe. Maybe not.
Venus Retrograde -- Realigning Your Values and Assets ---> Reassessing things of value ... -- Venus represents your important relationships, your important values, and the way you handle the things you value, especially material resources like money and possessions you need to support yourself.
Your Venus Energy -- So much more than love and money ---> Named for the goddess of love -- Venus the planet, and therefore Venus in Astrology, is named for the Roman goddess of love. That's the short definition of what she symbolizes, and the minute people hear that, their ears perk up and they want to know more, more, more.
