Mars in Leo Opposing Uranus in Aquarius Sextile Saturn in Gemini
When Mars opposes Uranus, the astrological metaphors describe explosive outbursts of energy and the sudden changes these can produce. In the mundane world, this aspect can forecast spectacular accidents, literal explosions, violent crimes caused by extreme rage, impulsiveness, and lack of self-control in response to unexpected provocation.
Air crashes and mishaps involving electricity and machinery are indicated. Political problems where nations take offense at one another's willful behavior or self-interested action are also a possibility for onstage action.
In personal astrology, this combination points to abrupt, reckless, ill-considered action ... usually in response to someone else's disruptive provocation. Tempers are at a flashpoint. Quarrels are almost a foregone conclusion -- and the strong possibility of rash, violent behavior to back up one's words is a possibility that cannot be dismissed. This emotional climate goes far beyond bad humor and petulance. People are ready for some pretty extreme solutions to problems that have been building for quite a while.
Under this aspect, relationships break apart ... often in a shower of rage and frustration as people reclaim their "independence" with a vengeance. The fall-out from their actions, however, can be extremely unfortunate if the anger gets out of hand -- or the tactlessness and "rebellion" of their departure provokes acute reactions in those being left behind.
People are in no mood to tolerate limits on their freedom. "Rules and regulations" may grate unbearably in situations where aggravation and resentment are already under tenuous control. There is no patience now with conditions of routine, limitation, or restraint. Again, lack of moderation ... and even violence ... are woven into daily business, and whatever caution and composure you can find to feed into your relationships at the moment is a blessing. (It may, indeed, be lifesaving. Hang on to every scrap you can find.)
Physical energy levels right now are intense but irregular, fitful, and impulsive. You may overwork yourself on the one hand ... and then refuse to put up with any more "stuff" on the other. The underlying issue is a desire to be in charge of your own schedule ... to act or not act, work or not work, as you please. And, again, what you're willing to do to accomplish this may be ... well, radical.
This atmosphere promotes sudden, drastic changes, ones that could fairly be called revolutionary as the status quo is not just dissolved -- but blown apart. Trouble is ... there may not be much of a blueprint available for what to do next ... but that fact may not stop the rebellion. Your willfulness ... and that of others ... may be out of character, unpredictable, and exasperating -- but it will leave behind "different arrangements" in your life when its power finally blows through and dissipates.
In case you don't have the message yet about this being an unstable and even dangerous time, it might be wise to check your own levels of impatient, inflammatory fantasies ... and do what you can to satisfy them without causing actual damage to yourself or others. Trying to ignore or soft-pedal this energy is the move of a fool ... and finding ways where it can dissipate itself harmlessly may be next to impossible. But these warnings that serious consequences can result from impulses and unchecked reactions now, need some serious attention.
The saving grace in this tinderbox time is almost certainly the sextile to Saturn Mars forms now ... allowing Saturn to mediate this opposition with opportunities to gain knowledge, use information, formulate plans, and work on projects that provide relief for all the tension I've just described. Saturn, with its reputation for bringing hard work and hard times, too, doesn't get credit, usually, for the moderating influence it can have in just such moments. But a Mars / Uranus face-off needs all the temperance it can scrape together.
When Mars sextiles Saturn, the opportunity to really get something accomplished prompts you to roll up your sleeves ... and dig into your work load with a vengeance. This energy supports any situation where practical achievement and physical discipline are needed. There is a willingness to take on hard work ... and the resilience to see it through to a firm conclusion. Tactical precision is also present, and the incentive to pay close attention to details -- the ones that make the important difference between an adequate job and an outstanding one on whatever you're doing.
A step-by-step exactness characterizes this combination ... and a fondness for sensible, efficient strategies. It offers impulse control to help curb impatience and lends courage in stressful or frightening conditions. The no-nonsense "personality" of this energy may sell short its real value for producing efforts of genuine worth and durability. It doesn't offer much in the way of smiles or levity, but, when the day's work is done and you dust off your hands with satisfaction, you can be sure that what you produced ... was worth the investment.
Having its influence of restraint and firm management available to negotiate some of the possible messiness in the weeks ahead may be a blessing in disguise of inestimable help.
Another silver lining may be the fact that Mars moves into Virgo soon, as well ... where the focus on work and service may prompt choices to do something sensible about problems instead of just exploding over them. (We can certainly hope so!!) But this does then increase the potential for physically hazardous accidents ... and somatic symptoms from all the stress!! (What one hand gives, the other takes away, you know!!)
