Mercury in Gemini Conjunct Saturn in Gemini
It's a time of partnerships, alliances, and combined assets. Two important conjunctions have occurred in the sky, marking a time when life here will begin moving forward with greater promise and strength.
A conjunction occurs when two or more planets occupy exactly the same degree and minute of arc in an astrological sign. Metaphorically, this represents a uniting, blending, and combining of the different energies involved.
Two planets "in conjunction" influence each other's expression to a tremendous extent. They operate like Siamese twins - each impacting and affecting the other in an inescapable, inevitable way. Each planet involved in the conjunction will assume the colorings, qualities, and characteristics of its partner so that the unit is literally inseparable.
The two conjunctions we are dealing with presently are Mercury (mind and intellect) and Saturn (discipline and structure) ... and Mars (action, energy, and initiative) and Jupiter (expansion and ethics).
The Mercury / Saturn conjunction forecasts a time when information becomes more reliable and its presentation more carefully planned. Thinking becomes more organized and disciplined. There is additional emphasis on clarity, dependability, and truth. And on rules, regulations, and "the letter of the law." The volume of information may distill down to a fraction of what it was before as people become more conservative about saying anything at all ... but blessedly, there is now more concern with engaging the brain before putting the mouth into action.
In your personal world, you will become more insistent on knowing and working with facts you can trust. Again, concern with "the truth" ... in a most bare-bones and undecorated form ... is a priority. So is being sure of what you know and sure of what you say. This becomes a tactic now for dealing with the upsets and confusion that have been part of life recently ... the ability to define what you know for sure and act on it with confidence.
Frankly, this can also be an energy of "laying down the law" in a fairly dictatorial way. You know what you want. You know what is and is not acceptable. And you are completely out of patience with weaseling, waffling, and spin-doctoring.
To borrow a phrase from the movie Network of a few decades ago, you're mad as hell and you're not going to take it any more!!! You're ready to insist that those around you get their act together ... because that's what you're planning to do yourself. Fortunately, the prevailing energy supports this sentiment now ... so you're probably not going to get a lot of argument.
Unless Mercury is in retrograde across Saturn's position, as it very nearly was this year (close but no cupie-doll), this aspect occurs once a year.

It tells a lot about your intellectual self; your ability to study, learn, analyze, communicate and work with information.
Mercury in General -- Your Inner Selves of Learning and Work ---> Learning stuff, using your mind and putting it to work -- Like Venus, your Mercury energy describes two inner selves. One manages your mind and all its talents; the other is in charge of the work you do ... the ways you use your skills and abilities to help others and build the kind of life your want for yourself. Again, as with Venus, these are usually reduced to the basic categories of "mind" and "work," but they also include whole subdivisions of behavior and talents.

Mercury Retrograde -- Rethinking Your Present Direction ---> In the territory of the mind -- When Mercury is retrograde (Mercury Rx -- in shorthand), it is a time of rethinking, refocusing and re-communicating. In Astrology, Mercury represents your intellect; your mental focus; your mind and how you use its assets.
What Does Saturn Represent in Your Natal Chart? -- What is it ... and why is it important? ---> Saturn ... finding stature, taking responsibility -- Saturn depicts an Inner Self that is careful, precise, methodical and concerned with creating lasting structures in the world. It contains your self-discipline, your sense of responsibility and your ways of relating to authority. It describes your need for status, and is apparent in how you build a career or public reputation to gain public admiration and respect.
Saturn Retrograde -- Rebuilding Your Personal Foundations ---> Delays ... get worse -- Saturn is notorious for signifying delays, and because under stress it also symbolizes limitation, restriction, and loss, many followers of astrology consider it their least favorite planet. But I think it gets a bad rap and lots of blame it really doesn't deserve.
