Mercury in Libra Sextile Jupiter in Leo Trine Neptune in Aquarius
There are a couple of interesting things going on in the sky at the moment. We'll talk about one of them today ... and one of them tomorrow.
First of all. Mercury in Libra is forming a sextile with Jupiter in Leo and a trine with Neptune in Aquarius, thereby mediating the ever-tightening opposition now between Jupiter and Neptune that will lock down its own message to the world on September 11 -- the sad first anniversary of the tragedy in New York City.
When Mercury sextiles Jupiter, interests and intellectual projects involving law, religion, academic expertise, advanced education, ethics, philosophy, issues of social welfare and justice, and one's personal "laws of life" are up for review, improvement, and expansion.
There is curiosity about the way "other people" handle such matters and how they incorporate abstract values and knowledge into their lives. People are unusually broad-minded, more willing to consider "foreign" concepts, and more likely to merge different cultural notions and new bits of knowledge into the working structures of their own lives.
People are interested in "deeper" knowledge, more than just surface trivia, therefore depth involving a few selected topics is as important as the bits and pieces of interesting information Mercury by itself is so fond of gathering. The energy now prompts people to stop, study, and learn more than to just "scoop and run" when dealing with new data and possibly valuable wisdom.
In fact, the ability to see value is strengthened, making it even more likely this will be a time when you -- and everyone else -- learn something you can use to make your life better -- and wiser. An eagerness to share what you know -- and what you are discovering -- supports conversation, writing, thinking -- as well as further study. This is a very philosophical frame of mind we are all working with now ... with more than its share of grace and eloquence to help enhance the pure ideas.
This energy is also inspirational, encouraging, optimistic, and constructive. Used to best advantage, it can show you -- and everyone -- more ways of turning thoughts into reality ... and thereby how to bring good things to life. This aspect itself is a truly joyful, generous, cooperative indicator of a willingness to think in new directions, to see life from another's view point, and to learn from the common history and views we share ... so as to create something better in the days ahead.
Maybe in its fashion, this is a way of searching for and finding meaning in what happened ... a year ago next week.
This is especially likely since, when Mercury is trine to Neptune, the intuitive faculties are strengthened to the point of inspiring prophetic episodes. The imagination is also boosted, as is a greatly detailed and developed ability to visualize thoughts, feelings, motives, and possible future events.
Psychic premonitions with the power and clarity of hallucinations or mystical visions are possible. Communications will also reflect this deeply spiritual, visionary, intellectual quality. The search for "meaning" in the heartbreak of a year ago is very much an element of this extraordinary time.
Individually, the opposition between Jupiter and Neptune, which is also a factor we have to consider, prompts inflated and overly expressive religious ideals and an emotional excess which is palpably maudlin. This may not be the most popular thing to say under the circumstances, but this is the astrological signature of the energy that's forming in the sky right now.
