Venus Conjunct Jupiter in Cancer
Venus and Jupiter have formed a conjunction in Cancer as of yesterday evening. A conjunction occurs when two planets occupy the same degree and minute of arc in the Zodiac. In other words, they are in the same place at the same time. On paper, that is.
This union forms a working alliance between the energies these two metaphors ... the planets ... represent. In this case, the teamwork and cooperation now exists between Venus (relationships and financial interests) and Jupiter (expansion, the application of higher wisdom, and the practical use of legal and philosophical principles).
This signals a time when new alliances and relationships are possible, available, and especially profitable. Even the two planets alone indicate generous, optimistic, congenial, compatible associations. Partnerships that work toward the best possible result for everyone -- especially those people who are part of the overall union -- begin, grow, and prosper when this aspect is available.
This is an extremely benevolent, fertile, and supportive energy. In the sign of maternal care and family interests ... partnerships form close "familial" bonds, and even professional associates will regard and treat one another "like members of the family." There can be a clannish "us against the world" mentality that weaves its sentiments through relationships and transactions now, but strong interests in mutual profit and mutual protection are also unmistakable.
To be honest, this energy can also be strangely complacent and lazy. With the attitude that "life is easy," and "the family will take care of you" ... the incentive to be vigilant and industrious declines -- and the decision to "coast a while" takes over.
While more money and more opportunities for pleasure will be available now because of the contributions our relationships and partners, with their expanded assets, bring to the group -- this is no time to go soft and figure you've got the world on a downhill pull. The temptation for that is strong ... but also foolish.
Again, because of the sign involved, the ability to make intuitive, profitable, ethical, and fortuitous choices in all matters relating to money, relationships, home and family interests, the use your philosophical principles, and the selection of wise options for future growth is tremendously improved. Do use this to your benefit now.
While Venus conjuncts Jupiter once a year (meaning this aspect is not terribly rare) ... it only conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer (or any sign) about once every twelve years -- which gives a little greater heft to its significance.
Wherever this aspect forms in your natal chart at 17° of Cancer, you can expect to see growth, prosperity, and a wonderful bonus of wealth, especially when Mars shows up with a conjunction to Jupiter of his own (around the first of July -- and at 23 - 24° of Cancer) giving initiative, added drive, and abundant physical energy to create "real results" from what is forming now.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Aries: Look for growth and improvement in your foundations, your physical dwelling, and within your family circle. Things to make you feel "more comfortable and secure at home" are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Taurus: Look for growth and improvement in your ideas about how to best use relationships, your intellectual assets -- and how to increase your practical knowledge. Alliances -- or new information on how best to prosper and enjoy a more secure private life are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Gemini: Look for profitable alliances and significant growth in your financial life and sources of income. More ways to enjoy money and physical pleasures -- in the company of congenial associates -- are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Cancer: Look for profitable alliances and more financial growth that will support your over all personal comfort and self-presentation. More ways to enjoy yourself -- as yourself -- are highlighted. (So is a tendency to gain weight. When I say "expansion" -- I mean in every sense of the word!!)
If your Sun or Ascendant is Leo: Look for tremendous growth and potential profit in some "behind the scenes" planning, project, or effort in building new foundations for future expansion. Some long-term complex enterprise is in the making ... and new ways to use people, talent, material assets, and mutually controlled resources in the construction are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Virgo: Look for new professional alliances, plans and opportunities that involve future profits, the expansion of your dreams and goals, and the ability to show off your ideals and "vision" of what life should be. Alliances with extremely profitable and cooperative friends and professional colleagues are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Libra: Look for extraordinary new professional alliances, career achievements, and the expansion of your public reputation and honors to start forming in the events and experiences of this 10 day window of growth. Your professional image and the ability to command authority in your career directions are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Scorpio: Look for new educational opportunities that will stand you in good stead in the future to appear now. Alliances with people who share your philosophical beliefs and ethical principles -- and opportunities for you to "show off" your personal beliefs by the company you keep and the values you teach are highlighted now.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Sagittarius: Look for a nice windfall involving jointly held assets and resources ... property you hold in association with other people, or alliances in which one party brings essential components to an ongoing project that couldn't prosper -- or perhaps even survive -- without this essential input. A substantial change in the way you work with partnerships and joint assets is highlighted ... marking a time of considerable transition.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Capricorn: Look for the contributions of a partner or intimate associate to make a tremendous difference in the way you are able to live -- and the ambitions you may form for yourself as a result. Opportunities and benefits "other people" bring into your life are highlighted ... as an example of "how to do it for yourself."
If your Sun or Ascendant is Aquarius: Look for new alliances and profitable opportunities in the work you do -- both the job you do for money and the services, chores, errands, and responsibilities you fulfill in order to improve the lives of others. Benefits from the overall lifestyle you create -- and provide -- including healthier physical conditions are highlighted.
If your Sun or Ascendant is Pisces: Look for new alliances and profitable opportunities involving hobbies, creative projects, leisure interests ... and "things you love." Under the right circumstances, this may mean a new child in your life -- as an extension of "new relationships and expansion" involving your creativity. New "loves" and new ways to bring attention to yourself and your talents are highlighted.
