Venus in Virgo Square Pluto in Sagittarius
Venus in Virgo formed a square to Pluto in Sagittarius yesterday. This puts relationships ... and the need to change and improve them ... in the spotlight for everyone. Squares are a 90%%deg%% angle which indicate hindrance, frustration, friction, impediments, and irritation.
Venus deals specifically with relationships and money; Virgo with work, service and taking care of life's mundane business. Pluto deals with revolutionary change and transformation; Sagittarius with rules, ethics, laws, and philosophy. Together, this combination focuses on the need to iron out differences you have in your personal relationships ... differences that stem from different "rules of conduct" between yourself and partners.
Venus / Pluto squares are known to be coercive, dictatorial, and fractious ... suggesting a time when you may try to force other people to live by your laws and obey your commandments about how life should be. (Of course, because this is a universal aspect occurring in the sky right now ... that means other people may be trying these same tactics on you, too!!)
When Venus in Virgo is afflicted you (and others) resort to griping, complaining, criticizing, nit-picking, and finding fault over petty details ... often the "little irritations" of life that you'd ordinarily ignore. (This is the "fight over leaving the cap off the toothpaste" kind of energy.) It may stem from feeling unappreciated, disrespected, and invisible ... and so you may cause a fuss just to get some interaction going with a partner -- because "problems" are preferable to being ignored.
The danger with this particular energy is that Pluto afflictions are known for going way overboard in their intensity. The fight escalates from something trifling to something huge ... in ways that can seem out of control and obsessive.
Jealousy can play a big part in these pitched battles ... but fundamentally you are dealing with a lot of unexpressed and unhappy sexual energy ... implying that you and your beloved may both be feeling unloved, ignored, and undervalued. The changes you want may deal with "the little things" in life, but that doesn't mean they don't need to be ironed out and adjusted.
It's easier to work with this energy through rational discussion than through a top-of-your lungs pronouncement of all the changes that better happen or else!!! In fact, Venus in Virgo takes very well to analyzing your relationship, picking it apart intellectually, trying to understand your partner logically, and coming to agreements where you each know what to expect from the other.
Just be sure it's constructive criticism you're offering, not just a way of getting even, disguised as "trying to work things out." The discomfort you may feel over the next week or so indicates you and your partner may both need better accommodation in your relationship, and as this square unlocks, it may be a good time to arrange that.
Because money is also part of this equation, you might explore whether abstract values, spending habits, the management of possessions, budgetary considerations, or other financial issues are also part of the agenda you want to review.
Sometimes the ulterior maneuvering of economic power is another backhanded way of expressing resentment and aggression ... and not a pretty one either. Better to get this out in the open where it can be handled deliberately and honestly. Your relationship and your joint bank balance could both benefit from the airing of fresh ideas and "new rules."

Your Venus Energy -- So much more than love and money ---> Named for the goddess of love -- Venus the planet, and therefore Venus in Astrology, is named for the Roman goddess of love. That's the short definition of what she symbolizes, and the minute people hear that, their ears perk up and they want to know more, more, more. Her Greek counterpart was Aphrodite, but that's not the "more" people want to hear. Like all short-and-simple answers to complex questions though, this one is misleading and woefully incomplete.
Pluto Retrograde -- Rebuilding in the Wake of Revolution ---> Pluto -- death and resurrection -- Pluto. If you know anything at all about the symbolism of this strange, erratic, controversial planet (which some scientists don't consider a planet at all, and other scientists consider part of a double planet set along with its own Moon, Charon, with whom it shares an atmosphere), you know it represents situations and experiences that deserve more than passing respect.

Pluto -- The Symbol of Irresistible Change ---> When things change ... drastically -- Pluto. Pluto: Ruler of Scorpio -- Symbol of Your Transformative, Regenerative Self ---> Pluto, with its bizarre, irregular orbit, is the last of the discovered planets in this Solar System which the basic metaphorical language of astrology contains.
