Mercury in Leo

Mercury, the symbol of the conscious mind, rational thinking and language skills, has just about finished messing around for this latest retrograde cycle. He's finally moving forward again -- he turned direct late on July 31, or August 1 for all practical purposes -- so that's progress.

Now he's come out of Cancer and is back in Leo -- so that's more progress. He gets out of his own shadow -- finally, finally -- on August 14/15. That gets us out of the woods completely. Even as useful as Mercury Rx can be, even I get impatient with all the delays and stalling.

Mercury in Leo

Mercury in Leo places Astrology's symbol for intellect, thought, learning and language skills in the sign of self-promotion and personal pride. Oh, man, you can see this one coming a mile away. It's a vitalized partnership that's impossible to ignore. Leos aren't known to hide their lights under a bushel in the first place, and when you put a megaphone in their hands -- prepare to hear some noise.

Also, consider that Mercury retrogrades in Leo this year -- starting July 8, so the Sturm und Drang of this one will hang around a while -- and come back for a second act. Mercury will be in Leo until July 19 ... and then return to Cancer a while, come back to Leo on August 11 -- and leave for good (or a least until next year) on August 29.
