Full Moon in Cancer
So, the Full Moon forms today ... around lunch-time / early afternoon in the U.S. Those hyper-sensitive to our surroundings can find Full Moon energies especially interesting, tense and exhausting. Sometimes other adjectives apply ... depending.
Both the Sun and Moon move at a steady, predictable rate through the sky, through the Zodiac -- touching by turns on all the issues that build a life. The Sun circles the Zodiac once a year. It spends a month in each of the twelve signs. The mobile Moon whips through his journey much faster. He completes a circle through the signs every month, changing signs every 2 1/2 days.

The deer and the photographer meet -- same moment, same situation,
but each takes away a different experience, a different meaning.

Sun Conjunct Mercury
When two planets meet in the same degree and minute of arc in the horoscope, it's called a conjunction. It marks the beginning of a new cycle of growth and experience involving those two celestial citizens and everything they rule between them. It also starts a new cycle of learning in the events and conditions we meet in real life.
Conjunctions themselves are interesting because of their composite energy. The planetary alliance establishes an extraordinarily important theme for us to work with. It has a focus that weaves its way through events that "come later" -- once those clearly connected to the conjunction itself have passed. Right now we have the Sun conjunct to Mercury in Capricorn in the sky. So, let's talk about that directly.

Mercury Sextile Neptune
Because the Sun (ego) and Mercury (mind) are virtually tethered when it comes to how they relate to each other in your horoscope (and therefore in your real life experiences,) they often form the same aspects with the other celestial citizens in quick succession. Ok, not as quickly as what happened yesterday and today when the Sun formed this Neptune sextile -- but it's not unknown.

Sun Sextile Neptune
You may recognize this feeling. People with a strong sense of spirituality live here a lot, but the Sun sextile Neptune makes others aware of these desires (and possibilities) ... and drives the point home to the rest of us.
It's the feeling where you know there's more to life than the daily 9-to-5 grind, more than doing the laundry and dishes, more than just paying the bills and "making it through" one more meaningless day. (Ok, the Virgos may be thrilled to find life is predictable and easy, dealing with a day-to-day rhythm, but they won't stay happy for long. You know them.)

The Moon
The Moon is the fastest-moving celestial body in the traditional horoscope. (For convenience, Astrologers refer to it as "a planet," but it's really not. The Moon is a satellite of Earth. The only natural one.) The Moon travels through all twelve signs of the Zodiac every month ... which means it changes signs about every 2 1/2 days.

Sun in Capricorn
Like all planet / sign combinations the Sun in Capricorn is special -- and specialized. It combines Sun / Leo energy with Saturn / Capricorn energy. So what does this mean in plain English?

Mars in Sagittarius
Mars in Sagittarius puts a fire planet (the ruler of Aries) in a Fire Sign where he's familiar with the climate. As soon as he gets his boots on, he's ready to roll. If you think you sense a theme here, I'm not going to argue. Let's just go with it. That's the motto Mars in Sagittarius lives by. We'll see how that works out.

Mars in Sagittarius
Mars in Sagittarius puts the planet of action and initiative in the sign of higher education. You can reduce pretty much everything else Sagittarius rules back down to that. This change of pace can take some adjustment. The mood is definitely different from the subterranean -- and often exhausting -- energy of Mars in Scorpio and its experiences.

Mercury Conjunct Jupiter
This union brings a positive outlook, an optimistic attitude to the area of life where the conjunction forms. (Figure out where this is in your horoscope, because this is one of the good ones!!) It fosters a happy, upbeat frame of mind, possibly based on some recent (or soon-to-arrive) good news, a new project your ready to launch ... or a fertile field of education and interest you're about to tackle.

Venus
The Moon, Venus and Neptune are Astrology's feminine planets. The Moon rules motherhood and family. Venus rules romance, beauty, culture, pleasure and money. Neptune rules spirituality, artistic inspiration and expression, your intuition and psychic abilities, nursing and healing, transcendence and forgiveness. These are all distinctly yin energies, receptive and feminine.
