Mercury Square Uranus
Mercury / Uranus contacts are always exciting -- especially the stressful ones. The squares come around at least twice a year, and while they don't last long, they can produce some memorable moments. This one is particularly provocative because Mercury is in Aquarius and Uranus rules Aquarius -- and Aquarius energy is such a wild card. More so when he's feeling frisky, excited -- and pressured.
This is a highly intellectual energy. Astrologers consider Uranus Mercury's big brother -- quick-and-lively, brilliant-and-ingenious, innovative and progressive as all get-out, gifted with a more universal outlook than Mercury. He's more future-oriented and his channel to Divine Mind is clear as crystal. He's also bolder than Mercury -- and more inspired.

Mercury in Aquarius
Eventually you reach the point where traditional thinking just isn't cutting it. It's not solving problems. It's not helping you understand reality ... or explain (even to yourself) what's going on and how to work with it. You've done all you can by following the rules and "playing it by the book," which is what Mercury in Capricorn counsels. But it's clear ... you need to do something else.
So, reluctantly, because you're stepping into uncharted territory, you decide it's time to "think outside the box" ... because ... what other choice is there? That's when you discover Mercury in Aquarius is already there and four steps ahead of you. His office is out in the front yard -- in a tent so he can work in the rain ... and he's got a complete lab way off in the woods so if he blows something up, nobody gets hurt.

Venus in Pisces
The Zodiac signs deal with interests and attitudes. Each is concerned with a certain set of life issues and contains the character traits most compatible for dealing with them. Together they show how a spiritual being can operate in this material world, and in the variety of choices between the assertive drive of Aries and the relative passivity of Pisces, the 12 Zodiac signs essentially "cover all bases."
When you start mixing and matching between the various celestial citizens and the assortment of different signs, you'll see some signs support some planets quite nicely -- and some combinations don't work together so well. Venus in Pisces is one of the best combinations. Venus doesn't rule Pisces (it rules Taurus and Libra instead,) but Pisces brings out some very interesting qualities in Venus.

Venus in Pisces
For every celestial citizen in your horoscope (there are ten ... eight planets plus the Sun and Moon), a Zodiac sign shares its attitudes and corresponds to its interests. A planet is said to "rule" that sign, with a clear, undeniable bond between them. Like Mercury, Venus rules two signs -- Taurus and Libra, the signs of money and partnership.
But some signs bring out interesting, powerful but latent qualities in a planet. A sign will support a planet's gifts in ways that are honestly ennobling. The planet assumes extra dimensions, extra strength in such a sign. (At least it works like that in theory and traditional Astrology. I take exception to some of these pairings, but I'll go along with this one.)

Saturn Conjunct Pluto
So ... here we are. Saturn conjunct Pluto aligns Astrology's two most portentous planets, both carrying huge freight in terms of Karma. This marks a new beginning between what these celestial citizens represent. It's long-term and significant. This one -- like the others we've met during our history -- will start an agenda that will last more than 30 years.
So ... you can see things involving this pair won't happen quickly, which makes sense because they represent things that didn't happen quickly either. This is the build up of literally decades of experience and Karma that now needs to be sorted out as a "reset" period settles in. Both Saturn and Pluto are considered cold, harsh, unpleasant and implacable. Neither is appealing or much fun ... ever.

Sun Conjunct Saturn
Each aspect arrives with a distinct set of attitudes to go with the business it has to accomplish. So realize every meeting between two celestial citizens has an agenda. The planets involved are the negotiators, allies or combatants -- depending on their personalities and what's happening between them.
This one between the Sun and Saturn, of course, involves ego, your ambitions -- your sense of who you are and what you can accomplish. Those are your Sun assets. A conjunction is an alliance, a working partnership ... usually friendly and cooperative, even if you're not especially fond of the players -- and some people are wary of Saturn's docket no matter how much he smiles.

Sun Conjunct Pluto
The Sun conjuncts Pluto once a year -- every year a few days later. It still manages to sneak up on me nevertheless. I should pay better attention. This is a power aspect. Any contact involving Pluto calls forth the powerful archetype of death and resurrection. This is an energy of rebirth and closure. You cast off responsibilities, situations, ideas, relationships, etc., that no longer align with you and your destination.

Mercury Conjunct Saturn
Mercury conjunct Saturn brings a very sane-and-sensible attitude to the way you think, talk and see life. You're ready to make important decisions ... or faced with them, so they have your complete attention. You may be facing some harsh truths or admitting something consequential, something that took a lot of painstaking study and thought.
You may be facing some limits or sobering facts you can't rationalize or ignore any longer. You may have to make some tough choices or hold some hard conversations -- possibly with yourself.

In Capricorn
When a conjunction -- any conjunction -- forms in the sky, or in your horoscope, it creates an alliance between the things those two planets represent ... in your experience, in your character, between the Inner Selves that comprise your personality.
There are several conjunctions in the sky at the moment -- in Capricorn -- including one between the Sun and Mercury. These symbolize, respectively, your self-image and your conscious mind.
This conjunction -- the merging of these two energies in the sky (and consequently everywhere else, in the focus of opinions and intentions on Earth ... and in all humanity) -- shows the process of owning your recent experiences and the learning that you derived from them.
